Why do bad dreams happen to good ponies?

For over a month now every night has been filled with the same imagery. Events from my past that to this day still haunt me. What do they mean and why is my subconscious terrorizing me in such a fashion?

Will tonight reveal the source of these thoughts or am I simply in for another round of more questions than answers?
