Truly Amazing...
College Sucks!

I just sat there wondering if I was in too deep. The only thing that really bothered me was the way that all this was falling into place. Can I just figure all this out before it implodes? The previous experience I've had with girls was when I was in high school. I remember a girl I knew asked me to the school's dance... but she wanted more than just a date to the dance. She wanted me to date her. I entertained the idea, but quickly I found out she was only interested in the idea of dating. She wanted to date me because her two sisters had boyfriends, and she didn't want to be left out. Not that I minded, but she was a body builder in highschool. It was a tad bit weird but it was kinda hot looking back on it... except I wasn't that fit.
*Knock* I heard someone at the door.
Starlight already? I thought to myself as I went to my door to see who was there.
"Hey Travis you forgot something!" The muffled sound of Jane's voice said as I unlocked the door. "Your wallet fell out of your pocket."
I felt my pocket and realized it wasn't there.
"My gosh... thank you so much." I say as I take my wallet from her hand.
"Dude, anytime." Jane responds with a grin.
"Hey why don't you hang out here with me for a while? I wanted to ask you some questions." I said thinking about the letter I recently sent to Celestia.
"Yeah I've got a few minutes." Jane said as she walked in. I saw her checking out my room... Especially my posters. "So what did you have on your mind Travis?"
"It just seems the female ponies here are a little bit... friendly to say the least." I said to her.
"What do you mean? Like... OHHH! That kind of friendly." Jane said laughing a little. "Well you see, if my theory is correct, I think it has something to do with the lack of males."
"So essentially more girls than guys?" I asked.
"I think so... I mean I do notice the mares are brutal." Jane seemed to blush a little. "Like one time I saw a few ponies fighting for the attention of a stallion.... It was rather funny!" She said with a laugh. "You see one was like 'I'm going to give him the best date anypony has ever had.' then the other commented 'she farts on the first date!' then they started almost punching each other!"
I laughed rather hard at the story Jane was telling me. That sounds like the elevator! Wait! I have to tell her about that.
"Jane that is so funny! But I was in the elevator earlier and two mares seemed to try to fight over me... It was kind of like that." I confessed.
"Ahh I see. Don't expect any of the ponies wanting you to ask them... they ask you first. Also make sure that you ignore any of them you don't want to date."
"I've only met a few ponies lately... all of them today."
"I saw you were talking to Starlight Glimmer."
"You know her?" I asked.
"I know of her." She commented while thinking. "You can say everyone knows of her..."
"What?" I ask confused.
"Well... a few years ago she how can I put this... introduced socialism to the nation of Equestria."
"How so?"
"Um... she might have.... kind of took the ponies butt tattoos away from them... then umm kind of like you know.... made a village where she was the only one in power then like made everyone miserable.."
"So she ran like a communist Russia in Equestria?" I said confused yet again.
"Yeah sort of... also not many people like her even though she doesn't act like she did anymore. Well thinking about it they more like distrust her than hate her." Jane said trying to recall all she knew about her.
Well. It seems I have invited a former villain to my apartment... wrote to the Princess about her... and Starlight probably thinks I have a crush on her. Wow. College sucks so far. My thoughts slapped me sarcastically.
"That's good to know." I say deep in thought about Starlight.
"Well yeah. I guess that is the short way of putting it. So anything else you wanted to ask?" Jane responded happily.
"Not particularly, but thanks for telling me about that. You want to play ps4 with me for a bit?" I ask holding a controller up in the air with a challenging smile.
"Yeah I do! You are so dead Travis!" Jane laughed as she took the controller from me.
We played video games for the next hour, and talked about Ponyville, the Everfree, and even a little about Earth. We laughed at how un-ordinary Call Of Equestria: Friendship missions was compared to the violent games of earth.
"Dude I think that these games they have here gush out sappiness... like no joke." Jane said as she shot me with a friendship cannon. "Just look at this Travis, a freaking rainbow CANNON! It's so adorable, yet deadly.... Just like Yours truly." She remarked over-sarcastically.
"Watch it Jane, looks like someone is getting cocky!" I reply preparing my secret weapon.... the wubanizor. "Hah HA! I have you where I want you now!"
"Not so fast Travs!" Jane exclaims desperately as she throws a celestial blinding grenade.
"Though I am blinded, My Wubanizor is not!" The music danced out of the weapon as I pacified her character, winning the match.
We laughed even though Jane had visibly been a little annoyed at losing the game. I turned the T.V. off and stood up to stretch. Though the game was somewhat relaxing, my back disagreed with a few pops. Jane got up and went to the fridge, taking out a Pepsi and started to drink the beverage.
"Hey have you heard anything from Juan, Xiu, or any of them?" I asked Jane casually, secretly wanting to know if they were talking about me.
"Not really, they are going to be out of town until the start of the semester. Just you and I are staying at EIT until classes start." Jane replied after taking a big sip of the drink. "By the way... how did you get all these Pepsi drinks, like only select places sell these not to mention in small quantities."
"My Dad works for the company. I don't have much brand loyalty when it comes to Cola, but it is nice to have connections." I laughed. "He wrote a note when he sent all those that said 'Make sure to give a few to your new pony friends!'."
Jane sighed. "It must be nice to get free soda, here you have to pay import taxes for them." After saying that she looked at me and asked "Could you maybe hook me up with a shipment? Maybe just a 12 pack if it isn't much trouble... it's a little too expensive for me to buy at the price they are here in Equestria."
I took out a pen and paper out from the kitchen counter and started writing my Earth address. "Ok so just write a letter to my dad explaning all that and how the prices are too high and he probably will send you some for free. Just say you're friends with me, no need to be formal." I said giving Jane the address.
"Sweet, thanks again Travs." Jane says as she gives me a hug.
I tense up not expecting this... I slowly recover and return the hug as she seems to enjoy it a little more than I do. After what seems to be a full minute Jane withdrew with what seemed to be a blush on her face.
"I wasn't expecting a hug, but you're welcome!" I say totally caught off-guard.
"What's wrong Travis... afraid of a little hug?" She shot back, capitalizing on my fears of being attacked.
"Maybe, but that's none of your business!" laughter ensued from the both of us as we looked at each other. The clock on the wall reminds me about my upcoming 'date' with Starlight. My face turned to a cold and uneasy smile.
"I don't want to kick you out Jane, but Starlight will be over soon... and I need to clean this place up." My hands gesture, showing the rather clean dorm apartment. Well.... clean by my standards. Which means, it looks like a nuke dropped.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was fun hanging out, I'll see you around!" I say goodbye to Jane and close the door and let out a sigh. A socialistic pony-villain in my dorm, plus I can imagine she has the hots for me. I begin to walk over to my boxes, and fix them up to look presentable. My mind can't stop thinking about this Starlight Glimmer as I organize my room, shaping it up for this pony. Looks like I have a lot of cleaning left...
Two hours later...
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
I race over to the door with total anxiety. My heart is beating out of my chest... I can't stop my palms from sweating... Please Lord help me. With that silent prayer, I opened the door.
"H-hello Travis!" She smiles showing a nervous smile. "Can I come in?"
"Hey Starlight! Nice to have you, come on in." I reply, trying to break down an obvious tension. Starlight walks in looking around at my living space.
"It's nice to see what you've done with the place... very spacious, I knew that they gave the transfer students the biggest."
"At least I can have people over comfortably." I say responding to the talk of the room. "So did you do something with your mane? It looks different than earlier... It looks pretty." My compliment brightens up her face as she smiles, looking me in the eyes.
"Yea, I just thought... you know... it would be nice to spruce it up." She says as her cheeks give an obvious blush. "So I know you probably have a lot of questions about me, so... I'll just say it. I used to not exactly be the best pony. I just want you to know that I've changed and I'm ready to come into this second chance as a new pony." Her ears drop low and her head soon follows. "I just wanted you to know that Travis, you know... before we seriously became 'friends'..."
"Hey Starlight, thank you for your honesty. I can see that it really affected you, and I want to be your friend. What happened, happened. No need to further bring up past mistakes." I say and smile towards her.
"R-really?" she stutters in disbelief.
"Yes, really." Her ears perk up to normal and her face wears a grin of happiness. Suddenly, she trots up and hugs me.
"Thank you, that means a lot... Travis." Starlight grabs me and softly hugs me while slowly rubbing her face on my chest.
That's forward... but very cute. I might have to see how this goes... I gently hug her back and after a few seconds break it off.
"So, Starlight, tell me more about you." I say, implying the new her.
"Oh you know, I just enjoy the sunsets, making every moment great." She says still smiling.
"Hey have a seat on the couch. Have you ever tried human sodas?" I ask remembering the Pepsi in the fridge.
"Oooh! No I have not! I'm guessing you have some..." Her voice perks up as she takes a seat on the couch, hearing the word soda.
"You would be right! My dad works for a soda company, so... I don't have to pay the import tax!" I say as I walk over to the fridge to grab two of the foreign drinks.
"I'm guessing that's how you got that meeting with the Princess."
"Yes, you would be correct. The taste is a bit strong, but still very sweet. Go on! Try it!" I laugh as I open it for her, while she grabs it in her magic. Woah! I can never get over how cool magic is!
Starlight puts the can up to her lips and takes a sip...
"Wow, that was pretty good! I'm impressed. Strong, sweet, sparkly, with a hint of ginger. I love it!" She says as she takes a much bigger swig of the drink.
"Yeah I practically grew up with this stuff. That and metal!"
"I have to listen to this metal music... I've been hearing a lot of students... especially ponies, talking about it."
"I can promise it will be life changing, just make sure to have an open mind to the screaming."
"Wait. Screaming? You're telling me they scream in this music?" Starlight glimmer hovered her drink in front of her face, jaw dropped, completely baffled.
"Yes..?" I say uncertain of her response.
"I'm amazed! That's so radical! Put it on! I like a challenge."
Hearing this, I set my drink down and walk over to my stereo. Carefully, I flip through my CDs, making sure to select the best band for Starlight's first experience with metal. Lamb of God... no. Hmm. Metallica? no. I know! Megadeth! My fingers traverse the row of music and pick out 'Rust In Peace' by Megadeth.
The song "Holy Wars... the Punishment Due" begins to play as I sit down next to Starlight.
"This is Megadeth. The song is about fighting pointless wars." The music had Starlight Glimmer hostage. Her eyes widened and her ears shifted directions as she tried to understand what was going on. Her face looked puzzled as the intricate riffs pierced her ears.
"I kinda like it... a lot actually. Has a lot more soul than Sapphire Shores that's for sure..."
Three Megadeth Songs Later.....
"I really enjoyed that Travis!"
"I'm really glad, many people; let alone ponies, like it." I say with a large grin, impressed by her openness.
"Hey want to go out into town for dinner? Don't worry, I will pay." Starlight says with confidence as I look at her unsure of what to do.
"Well I don't want to impose, but I would love to go."
"Well... you are not imposing at all. I know this hayburger joint that would be perfect." Her voice reflected the eagerness in her eyes, excitement seemed to beam from her response.
"I can't eat hay, do they serve salads or human food?" I ask just a tad bit curious.
"Yes they have options for humans, quit your worrying!" Starlight teased at my expense, calming my nerves. I gathered some of my bits and we headed to the elevator. While we were walking, a few ponies started staring at Starlight. I do kinda feel bad for her... but she's really growing on me. I am defiantly going to like being her friend.
The elevator opened up, almost full of ponies, but we squeezed in anyways. We stood in the back corner. I looked over at a few mares that were on the opposite side of the small area, I noticed they looked at me and giggled. Starlight was slightly taken aback by the mares and decided to scoot a tad bit closer to me. The group of mares started whispering to each other and continued giggling.
"Were going to the ground floor." I say breaking the awkward silence, causing one of the ponies to push the button. The ride down got even more tense when Starlight began to rest her head on my shoulder. This brings a flurry of reactions from the group, mainly being surprised.
"Hey Travis, do you mind if we also go by Sugarcube corner after we eat? I'm really craving a cake."
"Anything you want Miss Glimmer." My reaction forces a smile from her muzzle.
Man these mares ARE brutal! That orange one over there was totally eyeing Starlight down. I just hope that Ponyville isn't all like that. I hate competition... and being stared at like a piece of meat. I have a feeling though Starlight is trying to send the message that we are together. I mean look at how she's resting her head on my shoulder! We walked out of the elevator and into the lobby. Starlight walked a little ahead of me, and lead me out to the courtyard.
"Wait, before we go to the restaurant I need to ask you something..."
