Let Us Never Speak Of This Again
It was a much later incarnation of Twilight’s first sleepover. Applejack and Rarity, having long since come to enjoy attending these special get-togethers, continued their own variety of less vehement arguing. Instead of growls and grimaces, there squabbling was accompanied by chuckles and mild horseplay.
They had scooted the beds together, intending to create a harmonious environment through larger sleeping area. Even though the summer nights eliminated the necessity of blankets, there were more than enough to go around this time. The three mares settled in happily after the usual antics that these little get-togethers subsided.
Late that night, Applejack awoke feeling warm and odd. The hot summer night was not the reason for this, if the wetness in her hair and the exhilarating sensation of someone softly breathing on her neck told her. She realized her predicament as she became aware of a set of legs wrapped around her own, and a set of lavender forelegs attempted to choke her via dream induced cuddling.
“Um, Twilight?” Prompted the countrified earth pony.
“mhrmm?”
“Please stop chewing my mane.”
“mhrmm” Replied the lavender unicorn.
“But, you can keep humpin’ mah leg if ya wanna.”
Off in the darkness, a very lady-like unicorn failed miserably at stifling an unsettlingly un-lady-like giggle-snort by eating a pillow. Applejack, which had been holding in her own laughter, shook heartily while biting her lip. She nearly lost it when she heard the muffled snorts and chirps Rarity was making.
Twilight’s eyelids shot open to reveal rapidly dilating pupils. Her mind simultaneously attempting to come to terms with both, her sleepover faux pas, and the disturbing reaction from her friends. The thought processes colliding in her socially challenged mind resulted in more giggles throughout the room at her expense, as she fell out of the bed with a thunk.
The remaining ponies on the bed looked incredulously at each outer as they heard an unusual sound coming from the floor. Sideling up together to peer over the edge of the bed, sheepish grins firmly affixed to muzzles, they snickered at what they saw.
A lavender unicorn laid snoring and drooling in a most adorable fashion. Her hooves twitched slightly as she murmured something about late book returns. A faint blush adorned her face, barely visible in the darkened room.
“Should we wake her?” ventured the earth pony.
The white unicorn’s attention to detail distinctly picked up the deepening of the blush on her fallen friend’s coat. “Most certainly not,” she replied. "We would have to explain why she’s on the floor.”
“Wait, why were you awake?” Applejack’s eyes narrowed as she shot the prissy pony beside her an accusing glance.
A few moments prior to the events would have shown a rather prim unicorn smiling wickedly as she maneuvered her sleeping friend’s limbs into an intimate embrace. The deed she committed was for not just her own amusement, a lady positions events for the greater good. No, this would serve as an amusing reminder of the evenings they spent together in youth.
Just before hopping across the mattress to watch the show, she whispered into twilight’s ear. “Oh, hello Princess Celestia, what brings you here, and are you made of cake?” Twilight reacted exactly as calculated, grasping her earth pony friend firmly as it were one of the Princess’s legs and proceeded to taste what she held, resulting in the rather awkward spooning of her two friends.
