Equinopolis was under attack. Again.
Sometimes Scarlet wondered why she ever moved to Equinopolis in the first place. I mean, all things considered, the living conditions were terrible, and it felt like some new supervillain was attacking the city every other damn week. Not only that, but the villains weren't even that good. Most of the time, their penultimate goal was something dumb like using ants to steal all of the people's beds, or fighting the established government, but with kites somehow. 99% of the time the city wasn't even really in danger, but at this point, it was difficult to really tell if the people were just humoring them or they really were just that bad at taking care of themselves. Scarlet pounced on the opportunity to move somewhere to grow her business, but nobody ever told her that getting more customers would come with the price of having to live around crazy people. Still, apparently the villain of the week was some buck called the "Sour Apple" or something. She honestly hadn't been paying much attention to the news report on it since 99% of the time this stuff didn't matter, but since she was walking to work anyways, the mothpony figured it couldn't hurt to wonder what in the world someone called "The Sour Apple" would look like. Unfortunately, Scarlet's thoughts were quickly interrupted by the sudden and jarring sensation of something ramming into her at a high speed.

After a few seconds of staring, the maroon mare seemed to break from her trance. She blushed and looked embarrassedly at her hooves. Scarlet tapped her on the shoulder, and with a gentle smile help out her hoof in introduction.
"O-oh!" the batpony stammered, "I'm, uh... Capillary. Nice to meet you... umm" she trailed off, looking to scarlet to finish for her. Scarlet pulled a small card from her saddlebag and passed it to Capillary with a smile. On the card was printed in simple black text:

"Oh! You own that music store a few blocks from here! The one that The Gruesome Guitar Griffon tried to attack last week!" Capillary said, looking at the moth pony with shock. "That must have been super scary! It's a good thing the Miraculous Moth Mare was there to help!" she said. Scarlet rolled her eyes at the last remark. He came in demanding all of the guitar strings, then immediately was "defeated" when the "Miraculous Moth Mare" (Who was obviously her roommate Starstruck) kicked his gun out of his hands and threw a butterfly net over his head. Wanting not to be rude, Scarlet gave a smile and a patient shrug to Capillary in response.
For a few seconds, everything got very quiet and awkward. With a flutter, the maroon bat pony broke the silence
"So, would you mind if I bought you lunch to make up for the-" she was quickly cut off. Scarlet jumped back with shock as a net suddenly was launched over Capillary, and with a startled look in Scarlet's direction and a quiet "eep!", she was whipped away into a fast-moving apple-shaped van. Scarlet frowned as the van sped around the nearest corner and the driver let out what she could only assume she thought was a maniacal laugh.
Scarlet sat for a second, pondering if maybe she could just go to work. Looking at the cross necklace that had fallen to the sidewalk in the commotion though, she let out an annoyed sigh. Calmly, she picked up the necklace and began trotting quickly in the direction the van was heading.
"It's gonna be one of those days" Scarlet thought to herself.
ACT II
Starstruck had slept passed her alarm again. I mean, today was one of her days off work, so it wasn't the worst thing in the world, but there was still something profoundly wrong to her with sleeping so long that you pass out as the sun is coming up and wake up as the sun is coming up again.

Admittedly she had a bit of trouble with the changeling who chose to use his powers to turn into a gun and the weird mare who had an army of 100 very poorly trained cats, but most of the other ones had been surprisingly easy to handle. All-in-all, being a superhero had been pretty awesome so far! The people seemed to love her hero persona, and she had even managed to save her roommate's life a bit ago when some crazy guy attacked her store, so she figured all of it was worth the occasional bruises and cat-scratches. Looking at the table, she saw a note in Scarlet's writing:
Dear Starry,

Starstruck frowned at the piece of paper, taking another sip of her coffee. Since Scarlet wasn't home, she wasn't really gonna have much to do all day. Remembering that it was sunday though, she realized that there'd be comics in the paper, and she rushed to the front door to get her's. After a few minutes of fumbling, she was comfortably on the couch with a sandwich and a paper. Like usual, the headlines took up an ungodly amount of space, so ignoring them was kinda impossible.

With a sigh, Starstruck wrapped her sandwich up and stood up. "This shit never ends..." she said, walking to find her superhero suit, which consisted of fake Moth antennae, black contacts, and a hoodie with a fuzzy collar, and she headed for the door. For some reason, she had a feeling that she knew exactly where to find this new criminal. Just as she began to open the door, she paused in place.
"Well, if I somehow know where to find him, I probably have time to eat lunch." she said as she went back inside. 20 minutes later and some giggling at "The misadventures of skippy the griffon", and she was all set and ready to take down some evildoers!
She flew out the door with haste, and immediately made her way in the direction of the old abandoned orange factory on the edge of town. As she remembered, the place opened up a little over half a year ago. They wound up closing the place down shortly after opening it because the owner realized that oranges aren't produced in factories. She figured that if this new criminal was smart, he probably wouldn't want anybody figuring out where he was, and nobody would ever think an apple-themed villain wouldbe somewhere positively reeking of oranges, so it was the perfect hiding place! As she flew closer to the old building, she watched as a strange apple-shaped van drove in through a door on the side.
"Gotcha" she said smugly
Flying closer to the building, she scanned the drab beige exterior of it. Atop the building was a large neon-sign. It had been a long time since power had graced the sign, and the months of neglect had caused several of the letters to fall off of it. Right now, the sign read "O A G S". On the bottom floor of the building were several entrances, but aside from that, and a large office at the top, the majority of the building seemed to just be sandy grey concrete. Looking closer, Starstruck noticed an open window in the top-office of the factory.
"Bullseye" she said, stealthily flying towards it. She slipped inside silently, and immediately looked around for traps. The room was a slightly disheveled office. Papers were strewn about, there was a desk, and a knocked over chair. On the desk was a paper that read "Pictures of oranges", but the rest of the text under it was impossible to make out. Giving the place a look-over, starstruck headed towards the exit into the main building. As she opened the door, she immediately knew that she wasn't alone.
"Got one, boss" a feminine voice said from below
"Eyy, nice! What kinda pony is she?" a deeper voice asked in response
"A fuckin' annoying one, that's what kinda pony she is." the mare replied, annoyance in her voice extremely apparent.
There was the sound of something being bucked, then the sound of metal doors opening and something soft hitting the ground.
"Well, now that we have a hostage, we should totally get what we want" the buck said, sounding satisfied "And NOBODY will stop us this time!"

ACT III
As starstruck woke up, it became immediately apparent that She was no longer in the factory. Instead, she was laying on a carpeted floor in what appeared to be a bedroom. In front of her was a nicely made bed with an apple-shaped pillow on it. She flinched as a door to her right opened up and the Sour Apple stepped in with a grin on his face.

She let out a small snort, then immediately tried to cover it with a cough. There was no way in hell she was letting her arch-enemy know that she thought his terrible joke was funny.

"Well, you still saved me from those crazy ponies, so you're my Miraculous Moth Mare" Capillary said. Scarlet stopped and let out a blush at the words.
Capillary began to stammer "I-I mean, not like you're mine, I just mean, uh..."
Scarlet put a hoof to Capillary's mouth to hush her, then pulled out a pen pad and wrote on it for a minute. She revealed it to Capillary and slipped her pen back into her bag.
