Flitter and Cloudchaser Read a Whole Box of Stories

Flitter stared at the last move Cloudchaser had made. Should she capture Cloudchaser's king while overthrowing her queen, or just take the king before Cloudchaser did? Suddenly a loud knock on the door shattered Flitter's thoughts. Cloudchaser zoomed over to answer it. Without a moment to lose Flitter took Cloud's king and screamed "Check!"

"Nopony's here!" Cloud called from the door. "It's just a silly brown paper box!" Flitter looked at her.

"Then bring it in here! And are you sure Derpy isn't there? If she really is, do say hello for me!" Flitter called.

"Fine, I'll bring it in, but Derpy wasn't there, I tell you. Nopony was." Cloud said, shaking her head.

"C'mon open it, I wanna see what it is!" Said Flitter, who had shoved the chess board into it's box messily. Cloud got a sharp knife from the kitchen and tore the the box open.

"It's just paper!" Cloud exclaimed. Flitter grabbed the box and looked in it.

"No, stupid! It's a bunch of notes and stories. The note on top says: My dear Cloudchaser and Flitter, I want you to read every single story in this box. But there are rules. #1, you may only read one story a day. #2, you must burn THIS NOTE ONLY. Happy reading! Wow. The first one's called, The Box. Odd."

The Box

The doorbell rang. Thunderlane and Flitter raced to the door. There on the doorstep was an enormous, brown paper box. What could be inside? They took the box into the bathroom. Flitter carefully put her ear close to the box. She thought she heard a voice whisper, “CAKE!”

“Hurry. Open the box!” screamed Thunderlane. To their amazement, Princess Celestia leaped out of the box and started singing “On A Cake Break, Bro.” There was nothing else to do but sing along.

Flitter and Cloud looked at eachother quietly.

"Who wrote this?" Flitter whispered after a while. Cloud shook her head, confused.
