It was a nice, peaceful morning in Ponyville. She smiled and walked away towards the birdhouses, "Hello? Little friends?" she said softly as the birds hopped out and flew onto the small rack-like object hanging from a tree as they all tweeted a little 'good morning' tune to their friend, "It's time for breakfast." She said as she poured out some seeds into the feeder and they went a it. She sighed happily as she walked away, skipping along before feeling something tugging on her tail. She stopped and turned to see Angel Bunny stepping on her tail, "Huh? Oh, good morning Angel. Are you hungry?" she said as the bunny crossed it's arms and tapped it's foot expectantly, "O-Oh, I'm sorry. I'll make you a big, healthy fruit salad once I finish out here, okay?" She spent the next couple hours feeding every animal in her care before heading back inside and starting on her own breakfast, "Hmm... Wait, something's missing..." She picked it up and looked at it, "Dear Fluttershy, I'm sorry to do this on such short notice, but Princess Celestia has asked me to go on a trip to the north for a summit of some sort with Princess Twilight. Be back soon, hopefully. Love and Destruction, Discord." She said alloud as she chuckeld and turned looking to Angel, "Just like discord, isn't it Angel?" she said as she placed the letter lightly on the table and walked away to continue her pondering of what to make.
Later on, after looking through her entire kitchen, she decided she'd be better off going to Sugarcube Corner and getting breakfast there. As she trotted along, she kept sort of to herself but lately she'd become more open to others, though it was very little she did her best. Once she'd gotten to the doors, she saw an oddly angered Derpy walk past her before she flew off, "Oh my... I wonder what happened..." She said as she walked in and saw a worried looking Mr. and Mrs. Cake at the counter, "Hello Mr. and Mrs. Cake, is everything alright?"
"Wha--? Oh, yes, of course Fluttershy. Everything is fine. Um... P-Pinkie!" Mr. Cake frantically called out.
Within seconds the pink party pony appeared as if from mid air beside Fluttershy, "Yeah Mr. Cake?" she said suddenly, almost surprising Fluttershy... If she wasn't already more or less used to Pinkie seemingly teleporting into existence.
"Would you mind taking care of the store while we go out on a delivery?"

"Thanks so much Pinkie! We'll be back in a couple of hours." Mrs. Cake said as she and Mr. Cake ran out the door with a few boxes of baked goods on their backs.

"On it!" She said as she disappeared behind the counter.
"You don't have to do that, really. I can go back home and get my bits, it's really fine..." Fluttershy said trying to reason with him, not used to other ponies paying for her or other ponies really stepping in to do much for her besides the other girls, and even then she usually wouldn't let them unless they persisted... And because she was friends with Applejack and Rainbow, she usually lost.
"It's no worry, really. In all honesty I have extra so it's no big problem whatsoever." he said with an attempt at a calm tone in his voice.
"So... Are you alright? You're kind of... Wet." She said confusedly, wondering how or why he was like that.
"Oh, I'm absolutely lovely. My marefriend just broke up with me and now I'm alone... Again. Not like it's a monthly occurrence but still, it's always irritating when it does happen..." he said slumping over.

He sighed and waved her towards a table, walking over and sitting in the booth across from her, "I do indeed know why Derpy is upset... More than obviously it's my fault..." He sighed as he leaned his head against his hoof, "It all began this morning..." he said as he looked down at the table.
This Morning
It was a nice, peaceful morning in Ponyville. It was quite peaceful... Before the sound of what could've only been described as a small explosion happened on the opposite side of town. In the distance was the beige doctor walking out of his laboratory, the door filling and bellowing out smoke as he coughed painfully into his hoof and groaned, "Oh my... I think I... Mixed that component wrong!" he couched and wheezed out as he wandered towards his shared home with the kind, loving Derpy Hooves. He walked in and walked up the stairs yawning lightly as he walked into the room and flopped down next to the heavy sleeping pegasus before her alarm went off, a clcok he made for her that was a recording of him saying 'Muffin Time My Darling.'
The moment it went off she shot up at the word 'muffin' and looked around, happy to see him by her side and smiling wide as she shut the clock off and kissed his forehead as he slept, wandering off to the bathroom and shutting the door. Within a half an hour she was combing her hair and waltzing out, seeing him still unconscious on his pillow as she walked to his side of the bed, "Doctor~? Are you excited~?" she said in a sing-song tone only to be met with an inaudible grumble consisting of "Oh y-yeah, of course...". "I can't wait to see what's waiting for me at the bakery today~" she said giggling as she hopped out the door, shutting the door behind her as Doctor lazily groaned and waved her out before his foreleg fell limp and he continued to sleep.
A few hours later, he awoke and yawned, "Such a good nap... but a scientist never rests for too long! I have to get back to work as soon as possible! But first... Perhaps I should make a quick..." he looked over to the clock and saw that it was about 9:51 AM, "Breakfast." he finished as he hopped out of bed and trotted down the stairs, into the kitchen and looked around in the kitchen for something to satiate his hunger. He smiled when he saw a box of teabags and english muffins. He pulled them out and walked to the toaster and the tea kettle, putting the two english muffins in as he often did and begain brewing the tea. He ran over and pulled them out, placing them on a plate and carefully removing his tea from the stove, pouring it in a cup and walking over to the table. He placed it all down carefully and went to the fridge to fetch the butter and a jar of strawberry jam and as he returned, heard the front door opening up and slamming loudly, making him jump and almost drop his toppings to his perfect breakfast as an amazingly enraged Derpy walked into view.
"Oh! Good morning dear, how are you?" he said as he placed his sweet treats on the table and walked over to her nuzzling her cheek before being pushed back and glared at heavily, "Um... Derpy darling? Are you alright?" He said as Derpy walked past him and to the calendar and ripped it off the wall, walking back over to him and pointing at it, "What day is this?" she said pointing at the calendar. He blinked confusedly and peered at what she was pointing at, seeing that it was a day with a large heart around it labeled 'Derpy and Doctor's Anniversary'.
"Well my dear it's quite obvious-- Oh no..." He said as his eyes went wide. He peered uup to the steaming Derpy in front of him and smiled nervously, "Um... Tea?" He said before she angrily grabbed the teapot and with a quick swing, a pained scream could've been heard across town, alerting a certain pegasus as she turned her head, "Wh-What was that?"

"And then I came here looking to finish my breakfast, ran into you and so here we are..." he sighed as he slammed his face into the table, Pinkie walking over with their food as she placed it down in front of them, "Thank you ever so much Pinkie." He said as he gave her the bits.
"No problem Doc! I hope things get better with Derpy, I'll make her a fresh batch of muffins and tell her their from you as a late gift." She whispered to him as she hopped away.
He gave a half-hearted smile and sighed, "Honestly, she may as well not try... I know when Derpy's like this she's impossible to talk to and right now... I think all she wants is space from me." He said as he took a bite of his buttered, toasted and strawberry jam covered baked treat.
Fluttershy looked at him sadly and gently and somewhat hesitantly placed her hoof over his free one, "Doctor Whooves, if there's anything at all that you need or that I can help with I'll definitely do it. Just name it.
"... A shower would be nice so I don't smell like tea anymore." He said jokingly as he continued to eat.
She nodded and continued to eat her breakfast as well, "Alright, as soon as we're done you can come home with me and we'll get you cleaned up. Does that sound good?" she said with a bright blush on her face.
He blinked and gave a dim smile, "That sounds like probably one of the first good things to happen to me today. Thank you very much for the invitation. I do hope that I'm not cutting into any plans or anything though."
"Oh no, I have nothing planned today really." she said smiling softly as she finished her breakfast at about the same time he finished his final sip of tea.
"Well then, do lead on Miss Fluttershy." He said as he scooted out of the booth and waited as she did the same, following her out the door.
When Pinkie came out and saw this, she suddenly twitched from the tip of her tail up to the tip of her muzzle, something that had happened only a few times... One of them was a few months before the Cakes found out Mrs. Cake was pregnant, "... Ooh..." she said as she slinked backwards into the ktichen and let the doors shut.

She zoned out as she said this and when she came back to reality she heard Doctor saying her name, "...tershy? Miss Fluttershy, are we here?" he said as he shook her.
She shook her head and looked over to the left of her, looking at the Doctor who held a confused look on his face as he blinked at her, "What did you say? I'm sorry, I-I wasn't paying attention... Oh my, that sounds so rude, I mean I meant to be paying attention but I got sidetracked and I--"
"Don't worry about it, I've gotten sidetracked before. It's actually quite fun getting lost in your mind all the time. But I was asking if we've arrived since you stopped here." He said as he pointed out her cottage ahead of them.

"Oh, it's right upstairs and to the left. If you want I can show you." she said rubbing he floor.
"That'd be wonderfully helpful of you." He said kindly as she walked up the stairs, following behind her. Blast, this is why I should pay more attention to what I'm doing.' he thought as he degraded himself.

"N-No problem... I'll be downstairs if you need anything."
