Another Year at Camp Everfree!
Chapter 5- A Blazing Trail!

Rainbow Dash's P.O.V

As I sat next to Soarin, Rarity nudged me.

“Where were you two? We were looking all over for you.”

“We were in the music room, remember?”

“Oh yes! Sorry.”

“Okay, so, who will tell the first camp fire story?” Vice Principal Luna asked.

Timber raised his hand, then Gloriosa pushed it down.

“Give somebody else a chance.” Gloriosa replied to Timber. Timber rolled his eyes.

“I got one! And it's a horror story. So, grab a friend, and hang on tight!” Fleetfoot replied. Fluttershy and Rarity were hugging Applejack. Twilight was hugging Spike.

“This story is a true story, based on what happened in my life!”

“Uh Fleetfoot? Nothing scary happened in your life.” Soarin added with a sarcastic look on his face.

“Look, you weren't even there when it happened! Anyway, before I was interrupted by my shy, yet annoying cousin, I was saying this story actually happened. The story is called, The Legend of Frosty Glider! It was a cold winter's night, my friends and I were all going back to the camp grounds. We were in a Winter camp and we got lost in the woods! We started walking together. The night was cold and freezing. The cold breeze would hit you hard in the face with a powerful gust. As the wind started to pick up, we heard a crunching sound in the trees.”

Everyone gasped except for me. Soarin was so mad during the beginning. I tried to calm him down, but it wasn't working. Then, after a while he got scared. So, did I.

“My friends turned around and we were scared. Wishing that someone could find us. Then, in the sound of the wind, we heard a voice saying: “Children! Children! Come into my grasp!” I was so scared, I wanted to wet my pants. My friends and I all cuddled up together, shaking and freezing from the cold. We heard the voice again. But, this time, is sounds like it was near us. We all walked around just a few feet away from each other. I was backing up until I felt something on my neck. Someone's hot breath was blowing on my neck. I heard the same voice. “Children! Children! Come into my grasp!” My pupils shrunk. I didn't dare look behind me. But, I had to. There standing right behind me, just centimeters away, was……………FROSTY GLIDER!!!!!!!” Fleetfoot shouted at the top of her lungs. Everyone started to scream. Even me!

“AHHHHHHHH!!!” We all screamed at the same time. Fleetfoot was laughing so hard. She was on the ground.

Everyone was hugging a partner. Well, I wasn't hugging anyone. But someone was hugging me. Soarin was hugging me around my waist area. He was scared. I smiled and blushed lightly.

“Um, Soarin? The story is over. You can let go now.”

“Sorry! Guess that story really got to me.”

“It got to everyone.”

“But, that story is not true. There is no such thing as Frosty Glider.”

“Yes there is! You wouldn't know because you weren't there!” Fleetfoot exclaimed. They started to argue again.

“I bet if I asked your friends, they wouldn't even know what I'm talking about.”

“Yes they would! How are you telling me what happened?!”

“I just know that this story isn't true!”

“It is!!”

“Okay, you have proof?”

“Soarin! Now you're making no sense.”

“Oh, now I'm not making any sense!”

“Um, do you two ways argue?” Twilight asked them.

“Nonsense, this is just a role play we do.” Fleetfoot lied.

“Ugh, here we go again! Stop lying! It's not going to fix anything!”

“Listen, I've had it with you! I don't know why auntie Cloud Chaser made us live in a house together!”

“Yeah, I'm still trying to find an answer for that question.”

“Me too!”

“Have you seen the tension between Fleetfoot and Soarin? It's worse than Gloriosa and Timber.” Sunset stated. Pinkie and I both nodded our heads.

“Okay!!! So, um everyone, we should be going back to our tents. Have a great night sleep!” Gloriosa smiled as we were all walking on the right path. Fleetfoot, on the other hand, was walking on the other path. She wants to get away from Soarin.

“Fleetfoot, that's the wrong way.” Timber replied.

“Oh, so now I'm walking differently!! Wow! What else new?”

“Fleetfoot, we're being serious!” Twilight shouted.

Fleetfoot didn't pay attention and she rolled her eyes.

“Ugh, fine. But don't make me walk next to my nuisance of a cousin.” She replied as she gave an icy glare to Soarin. He did the same thing to her. I put my hand over Soarin's shoulder.

“Is everything okay?” I asked.

“Yeah, I just want to know what's up with Fleetfoot. Something’s been bothering her. She won't tell me. I wish we would cooperate like good cousins will do.”

“So, she's hiding something from you? And you want to find out. But every chance you get, she starts to argue with you?”

“Yup, you said it. I love her with all my might be we are like fire and water.”

“I know, I see it everyday.”

“Sorry about this. I want to have a better relationship with Fleetfoot but turns out, we're not.”

“Hey, not every relationship is perfect. I know.”

“You have siblings?”

“No, but I fight with Applejack a lot.”

“You do? You don't look like the fighting type.”

“Oh really? Then, you don't know me too much.”

“Okay. Well, I hope I can knock some sense into her. I want to know why she's so angry all the time.”

“Maybe it's from all the stress. She's paying the rent and she has a job here, too. Whatever the problem is, I'm sure it's an accident that she keeps arguing with you.”

“Thanks Jewel! It's great that you have friends to look out for you.” He sobbed a bit.

“What's wrong?”

“It's just that in middle school, my friends betrayed me and left me for some other guy. And so, I was scared of meeting new friends.”

“Really? Well, you have me.”

“Yeah, I do!”

As we both reached my tent, we both looked at each other.

“Well, see you tomorrow, my Jewel.” He said as he kissed my hand. I blushed furiously.

“Yeah, see you.”

I went inside my tent and saw Sunset gave me sly grin.

“Oooh, someone's got it bad!”

“Ugh! You're not going to let this love thing slide, right?”

“Yup.”

“Whyyy?”

“Because, it's adorable!!”

“Ugh, can we please talk about something else?”

“Okay.”

“Thank you!”

“That was some fight back there between Fleetfoot and Soarin, right?”

“Yup.”

“It's like they don't get along too well. Do you think they're under some type of Equestrian magic?”

“Uh, no. It's normal for cousins and siblings to fight.”

“Well, not like that. Do you think Fleetfoot’s hiding something?”

“Maybe. I don't know. Do you think it has something to do with Soarin?”

“Dunno. Well, there's only one way to find out!”

“And how are we going to do that?”

“Just follow my lead!”
