Another Year at Camp Everfree!
Chapter 8- Shine your Way!

Rainbow Dash’s P.O.V

As we walked to the tree house, I stopped him.

“Ok, what's up?”

“What do you mean?”

“You got a trick up your sleeve. Tell me!”

“There's nothing. I just wanted to spend some time with you.”

I blushed at his remark. Ok, I need to stop blushing because one day, he'll ask me.

“Awwww, thanks. But, I only got next week and then I'm leaving.”

We both climbed up to the tree house and we both sat down on the floor.

“I don't want you to leave. Well, let's not think about this. Let's have fun.”

“What sort of fun?”

“Like we make jokes, or we can talk.”

“Okay, so. I'm curious.”

“About?”

“About the fact that you give so much great ideas and you haven't gone to high school for a year. How come you're so good at that?”

“Well, after I got bullied in middle school, my parents have been making me focus on studies more. So, that's why I'm so good with my words and how I get such great ideas.”

“Nice! You used to get bullied?”

There was a moment of silence.

“Soarin?”

“Yeah.”

“Did you used to get bullied?”

Soarin turned his body towards the wall and he started to cry. I felt so bad for him. I turned his face towards me.

“Hey, hey! Don't cry! You know I'm here for you! I won't tell anybody else.”

“Okay. In elementary school, I used to get teased about my height, and get teased about my appearance. Before high school, I used to have braces and I was a nerd.”

“Really?”

“Yeah, In 7th grade, my braces were removed and I got teased from my friends. They betrayed me and they made fun of me. But, in 8th grade, things turned out different for me. I got better in my grades, I started to like sports, and well, I got one truthful friend. And then I got 2.”

“Who are the 2 friends?”

“Oh, this boy named Thunderlane and you.”

“Wow! I never knew.”

“Yeah, life can change for so many people. So, what about you? What was your life in middle school? Did you get bullied?”

“Well, yeah. But, in elementary school.”

“You got bullied in elementary school?”

“Yup. I thought I was the best kid in my 3rd grade class. We all had to present our talents. My talent was to play soccer. When I kicked the ball, it bounced everywhere and it hit me in the head and it hit the trash can and it feel over my face. When the trash fell over face, everyone called me Rainbow Crash.”

“Oh.”

“Yeah. Some jerks!”

“Hey, if I was there, I would treat those kids a lesson. Don't worry, I would've backed you up!”

“Thanks Soarin.”

“No problem. Enough about bullying, let's talk about something else.”

“Like what?”

“Dunno. Maybe we can do some activities.”

“Like what?”

“Stop asking that question. Anyway, let's make ourselves useful!”

“Okay!”

There was a box of crayons on the floor and a piece of paper. I started drawing a picture.

“But, hey! At least they didn't call you Rainbow Trash. Hehe.”

I looked at him, and my smile turned into a frown. I was about to cry, but I didn't. He realized his mistake and started to cheer me up.

“Oh Jewel. I'm so sorry. It was just a joke. And that joke was not to played with. I'm real sorry, Dashie.”

My eyes went wide. My cheeks started to burn. So, did his.

“W-What did you just call me?”

“D-Dashie. Is that a bad thing?”

“What happened to Jewel?”

“It died. It was getting boring.”

“Really?”

“Yeah, Dashie sounds way better and matches your cuteness.”

“I'm not cute.”

“Yes you are. When you pout, it's so adorable!”

“D-Don't call me adorable.”

“You sure about that?”

“Yes, I am. Please stop.”

“Okay, Dashie.”

“Hmmm, why are you so nice to me, Soar?”

“Because you are nice to me and every one deserves kindness,”

“Awwww, Soarin you’re so sweet.”

“And handsome.”

“Really?”

“Yeah, you stare at me all the time.”

My cheeks were pink and I was sweating.

“Hehehe, no I don’t.”

“Yes, you do. What do you think about when you look at me?”

“Well, I can’t answer that question because I don’t look at you.”

“Yes, you do.”

“Do you think I’m cute?”

It was quiet. We both looked away from each other and then sighed.

“Well?”

“I guess.”

“If this conversaation makes you uncomfortable, we can stop talking about it.”

“Yeah, I think that’s fair.”

“Okay, Dashie.”

I started to become tired and I rested my head on Soarin's shoulder. He seemed surprised and then he looked down on me.

“You okay, Dashie?”

“Yeah, just tired.”

“If you just wanted to lay on me, you could've asked.”

“Yeah, no. I'm good, now.”

I started to get comfortable besides Soarin. I felt warm and comforted. I didn't want to leave from Soarin's grasp. I started to feel my cheeks burn when he put his hand around me. I looked up at him and he looked down on me. We were both face to face. He started to lean closer to me. My cheeks were blazing with heat. I could feel the burn. I started to lean closer to him. We were touching each other's noses and I could tell, we were both breathing heavily through our noses. He pulled back my hair from my face and touched my cheek area. We both stared into each other's eyes, both of our faces were red. Right now, we were both centimeters apart. We both leaned closer to each other. My lips were about to touch his lips. We looked at each other and then at our lips. We leaned in more and our lips were approximately 1 centimeter away. I wanted to get closer so badly but I couldn't move. My cheeks were blazing hot and my stomach had way too much butterflies. Our lips were getting closer and closer to each other until……….

“Dashie!!!!!!!!! You there???!!!”

We both separated each other as fast as possible and our cheeks were hot.

“Y-Yeah, Pinkie. I'll be right t-there.”

I packed my things and climbed down the tree house.

“We were all looking for you! You wanna go swimming?”

“Swimming?” I replied while getting shaky. Water's my enemy!

“Yeah, the water's great! You coming too Soarin?”

“Yeah, I might take a dip.” He replied as he climbed down from the tree house.

“Great! Let's go! Lalalalalalala!!!” Pinkie Pie sang as she slipped in rhythm.

“So, you're going to swim, hmmm?”

“Yup!”

“Can you?”

“Uh, yeah?”

“You sure?”

“Yup, hehe.”

I didn't want him to know. I didn't want anyone to know. The shameful secret. No one will know. Hopefully, not. There's just got to be another solution for this. There's just gotta be.
