Nightfall had come, the farm still quiet, the animals still sleeping. AppleJack nor Apple Bloom had been by. If they were back from their outings then they must be at the house over the fields. Inside the barn however things weren't so quite. Between the barns weirdly smelling aroma of smashed apples and the cider that had gone to Trixie's head, the two of them were still inside enjoying themselves all while forgetting the outside world completely. Big Mac's flirting or what he would refer to as his way of wooing didn't do any more to help the situation. The Drinks he insisted pouring glass after glass did. Another hour after their last two had past, Big Mac had finally loosened her up to properly explain why she had decided to sleep in their barn.

Trixie stood, leaving a small dent were her and her savior had made a cozy little spot in the hay stack.

"Well you see Macintosh," She said standing trying to hide her struggle of doing so, "I Have been disowned. So it seems after so many failed attempts of success, my family has finally got fed up with me and has thrown me out to fend for my self."

Big Mac stood in surprise, not wanting to believe what he just heard could even happen. "Thats Horrible! I'm so sorry."

"No, It's alright." She smirked at him putting on a brave face. "It's for the best really. I haven't really been on good terms with them since I first left to become THE GREAT AND POWERFUL %TRIXIE!%"

"Why not?" He question.

Trixie turned to face the wall showing Macintosh her back, he in response tried his best not to stare at her too much to her knowledge. He couldn't really takes his eyes off her and kept thinking how the back looked almost as good as the front.

"It has always been my dream to be a famous person seen throughout Equestria for my magical feats. But as everyone can tell, i'm not as good as most people when it comes to magic. So… My family… mostly my parents have never really approved of my dream."

"That must have been very hard for you," Macintosh suddenly putting a hand on her rather delicate shoulder comforting her, "You were brave to follow you're dream like you did, you must have been very afraid to go off on you're own like that."

She laughed a little at his comment. "You mis understand. I was terrified to be leaving but I wasn't alone. You see when I left I was with a group of my closest friends. All together we were an unbeatable act. No one could top us. But destiny as cheesy as this sounds had different plans for us. One by one we were either picked up by some talent scout, became an apprentice to some other magician, or realized we couldn't make it in the world and went home to seek a more oriented way of living. I of course, was unable to return home. No one scouted me. And the one man who WOULD take me as a student, deemed me worthless and refused to teach nor shelter me any longer."

A moment passed before any response was made, then suddenly Macintosh blurted out not thinking,

"Wow you're life sucks." He instantly covered his mouth to keep him self from insulting her further. "I'm sorry! It just slipped out!"

Both Trixie's hands covered her mouth. Before Macintosh could correct himself he heard laughing. Trixie had sturdied herself on him and was attempting not to fall over from her sudden burst of joy.

"No it's okay." She reassured him, "It's just the first time i've heard such an… honest reply when I tell that story.

Macintosh stepped closer to her. "So you're not mad."

"Of course not," She giggled. "I'm very use to people thinking that way, they've never said it out loud or directly to me but i'm glad you did… it was insultingly kind of you."

The oversized man let out the breath he was holding in relaxing himself, now certain or nearly certain that he hadn't offended her. "Well i'm glad I could cheer you up at the very least, but you still haven't told me why you decided to sleep in my barn."

"Right," Trixie began after settling down. "but first let me ask you a question,"

"Sure what is?" He asked.

"How do you think I got the funds to do all my little magic acts?"

"I don't know. Where?"

As she started pacing back and forth getting ready to tell another long story Macintosh sat back in the pile of hay and grabbed his drink.

"My father oh course. When ever I wanted to put on a show for all to see, I would contact him saying I had a fool proof way to launch my career. They still loved me so he was more than happy to help but my request became more demanding. Now there almost bankrupt and they've been convinced by my own mother to discredit me in order to save whats left of the family fortune."

Trixie sat down next to Macintosh, resting herself against him taking a breather but continuing right after.

"I't wasn't so bad at first, but then I found myself having to fund my own projects and then paying out of pocket when something went wrong during one of my shows… Which is often. Eventually I ran out of money and with it options. So my last choice was to help random people in the street and hope they were kind enough to repay me. I saw Pinkie having trouble with her pie cart and tried to help but my %light as a feather% spell made her cart explode. When I tried to explain myself I was chased away. At first I just wondered place to place looking for somewhere to rest and came across the barn house. I thought I could at least lay my head down a couple hours but then you dumped a pile of apples on my head."

The story didn't astound him as much as he thought considering things could have been worse. While she looked up at him from where she sat leaned on his chest Macintosh began contemplating his next course of action. He had, to his standers a rather cute girl now homeless, cashless, and in need of help hidden in his barn. He could just ask her to leave, abandoning her on her own. But what if he didn't, what if he chose to help.

"Macintosh?" Trixie called out regaining Big Mac's attention. "Are you ok, I didn't freak you out to much with the story did I?"

"No. I was just thinking." He responded.

"What?" She questioned back.

"Why don't you stay here tonight?" Macintosh now sitting up straight serious.

Trixie couldn't believe it. She was ecstatic yet defensive. "Do you really mean it. Because if you're just messing with me then I can go."

Big Mac, laughed at the comment. "I'm serious. You need a place to stay for the night at least, and you seem a bit… tipsy after tree glass of cider. If I let you leave now, I'd feel responsible for anything that might happen to you after you left.

Trixie, stared in disbelief jaw almost dropping.

"Just stay here tonight. In the morning I'll come get you and we'll see if we can't get you situated properly."

She nearly jumped up from were she sat but then instead hugged Macintosh in a deep embrace. Neither said anything. When she looked up at him finally pulling away, Macintosh had his eyes glued to hers unable to turn away. After a second he didn't care anymore, he wanted to kiss her and did. She didn't pull away, in fact she returned the gesture. When they did come apart Macintosh, leap out of his seat as if his pants were on fire. Trixie, followed suit, doing the same after finally coming to her senses.

"I-I need to go." Big Mac turned heading for the doors.

Trixie, pleaded him to stop but did so to late. He was already out the door and no doubt running back to his house for the rest of the night. Thinking back on it he kept telling himself it was just the apple cider going to his head as well as Trixie's but he knew that wasn't the truth. Every fiber of his being begged him to do that, to do more.

Trixie stood alone in the lifeless barn stunned. After painful, one to another thoughts rampaging through her mind she decided that the possibility of her and Big Mac together was just that, a possibility. She couldn't get the ideal out of her head about how this had ever happened. A stuck up wanna be rich girl falling for a farm boy. The thought made her crazy. She spent what felt like an eternity fussing over it until she just couldn't any longer. whether it was the long day, the drinks in her system, or the recent event's that had transpired, she felt tired, miserably tired and just wanted to sleep. So she played with the hay until it was just right, then laid on it until she slept whispering to herself, "Macintosh you idiot…"
