Ponyville Buckball Association
New Team Owner
Load Full StoryRight now live on PSPN, on the sports new program showed a press releasing involving the team from the small town of Ponyville, the Ponyville Herd.
The Herd you see, was one of those middle of the road teams, winning at least barely four games a year (each season has at least eight games a year.) for the past three years, which would later cause the shocking firing of both coaches Rainbow Dash and Applejack.
Plus even some bad publicity when the previous owner, Berry Punch would be reportedly found drunk of hard apple cider after each and every loss.
The team needed to go in a different direction, and a new lead in ownership may just be the thing to lead them on a winning path.

The press release started when Berry Punch stepped up to the podium, facing a big crowd of numerous pony sports reporters, started talking.
"As you can tell, I have sold this team to a new pony. A different pony. As always, our goal has been the same as just about every other team: to bring home the hardware. And although I have failed to do so, I do believe that he will get the job done."
Right after she mentioned the new owner was a he, just about every one of the reporters were scribbling done in their notepads.
Stop right here as I should say that while about most of the other teams are run by a stallion now, it's still kind of pretty much rare. The whole NBL organization was created by six mares you see. They didn't have their first stallion owner until five years ago, when Cliff Skies took over the Cloudsdale team.
"And that's why I have successfully sold the team to....." Walking up onto the stage, a white colored, blonde haired unicorn, wearing a black tie, walks over to the podium, shaking hooves with Berry, both smiling. "May luck be in your favor in the future." She says with a smile.
Now looking at the big crowd of reporters, cameras flashing, and thinking in his head right now 'What have I done?'

The next morning the day after, in the headquarters of the Vanhoover Timberwolves, team owner Stripe Rainbow, and GM Windy Winter were sitting in the conference room, each taking bites of their breakfast while also talking about the future of the team.
The Timberwolves are always every year the bottom dwellers of the league, always getting the number one pick in the NBL draft every year, only for each pony to later be a busts.
"So, ya hear the news?" Stripe Rainbow tells the other pony across from him, taking a bite from his grass pancakes every ten seconds.
"About what? How we'll probably have another bust in this year's draft." She says sarcastically, taking a sip from her glass of orange juice.
"Very funny. But that's not it." He pushes his plate towards the middle of the meeting room table, getting up from his chair. "The Ponyville Herd have got themselves a new owner you see. Fresh meat."
Windy pushes her empty plate towards the middle too. "Yeah, I see. What you wanna do about it?" She says questioning him.
"Well it appears he doesn't really have a background for this kind of stuff, for owning his own team."
"Ok, what ya got in mind?" She asks him.
Stripe Rainbow walks over to the window behind him, looking out at the practice field, surrounding it a brick wall, with signs left from some angry fans, signs saying really nasty things, and others just plain cruel. (All the benefits of being a losing team.) "Give him our number one first round pick."
Windy spits out the orange juice she just drank. "Are you crazy?" She says to him angrily. "The fans would destroy us if we did this. Our own coaches would quit on the spot. Why would you want to do this?"
He continues to look out the window with a straight face. "Now tell me, what did Los Pegasus get from Fillydelphia in the draft where they got Crystal Stark?" He asks her.
The GM's face turns from angry to confused, thinking for a few seconds before answering: "Three first round picks, and two second rounders. But what this got to do with....." She ends her sentence there, thinking a second more. "You wanna do the same to Ponyville, don't you?"
An evil smile appears on his face, still looking out the window.

"I can do this." I say to myself confidently in the bathroom mirror.
Today was my first day as owner of the Ponyville Herd.
I knew that it would be a tough ride, but if Berry Punch believes in me, then I should too.
After all, it's not like the whole town of Ponyville will instantly turn on me if I mess up big time.
After my breakfast of a bowl of Luna-Os and glass of orange juice, I head out the door and start walking towards the team's headquarters.
While on my way there with my briefcase and radio, I see ponies of young and old looking at me curiously, and nervously. Probably wondering what I'll do to make this team better. I hear on the way there on the radio I took with me, PSPN Canterlot, hearing two ponies give their opinions on the recent ownership change, them both giving negative thoughts.
Time to prove them wrong.

The Ponyville Herd headquarters look more modern as every other building in Ponyville. The whole building being of a square brick structure, two stories high, and also being connected to the practice facility, a long rectangular brick building with a triangular gray roof.
I walk right through the double glass doors, heading straight into what looks like the lobby. The Receptionist's desk off to the left as I enter, and immediately getting swarmed by all kinds of business ponies around me, each one asking, "Will I stay, or go?", and holding up papers.
I get myself away from their wrath on me, saying to all of them: Now now, I know each and everyone one of you have questions as of whether or not I'll keep you, but don't worry, I will answer each and every one of your questions in my office in an hour.... one at a time." I walk away from them all, turning my head to see all their faces become a deep red.
sigh "I'll see."

I step into my new office, seeing only an empty desk, on it a lamp, rolling chair behind it, and behind that a long rectangular window, looking out onto the practice field.
I go ahead and take a seat in the chair, placing my briefcase and radio on the desk.
"This is it. What to do now?" I take a small notepad out of the briefcase. "Let's see... getting settled in new office?" I look around the whole room, walls being bare except for a penchant of the team's logo. "Check." I get up from my chair and walk out the door to go to my next item of interest. "I really should go see Rarity to see if she'll help decorate my office."

After walking a few feet down the hall to my office's right, I appear in the doorway of where I wanna be.
"Hey hey Twilight. How you liking the new gig?" I ask as she turns to look at me, leaning on the open doorway. Seeing her give a smile just makes me happy. "I'm just checking to see how our salary cap is. Free agency is coming up in a few weeks, and I wanna snatch a good pony." I give a smile, seeing her then dig in the pile of papers already on her desk.
After seeing her do so for a minute, Twilight finally pulls out a piece of paper. "I'll say looks alright. Just don't go spending it all on more than one good pony."
"Yeah yeah. Listen I got to meet with all the scouts, and assistants in a few minutes, so can I have a good luck kiss?" I smile big.
Twilight gives an expression.
"Ok, see ya." I quickly run back to the hallway, taking my notepad out. "Check salary cap....? Check."
