Far beyond the reaches of the galaxy lies a single planet that has been largely uncharted by the New Republic. General Rahm Kota made first contact with the planet, aptly named Albion for its diversity of sapient species, specifically one race of anthropomorphic equines who call themselves ponies.

Now, Galen Marek, the leader of the New Republic, has found himself and four other humans, through unknown means, brought to the resident country of these ponies, aptly named Equestria, just as Nightmare Moon escapes from her thousand-year imprisonment to exact revenge on Celestia and the world for perceived wrongdoings that led to her imprisonment to begin with.

Without the Elements of Harmony at their sides, these five humans and their six Equestrian friends must find a way to put a stop to Nightmare Moon's diabolical plot before she shrouds the entire world in eternal darkness.
