It's been years. Too many years to count since the Overgrow. When all the natural plant life in the United States began to run rampant. Devouring cities, destroying everything we had known and built. The survivors, around seven thousand, fled to a complex in the Massachusetts Bay area, known as the HAVEN SANCTUM. There, they sealed us away with everything we would need to survive when we woke up. Put into Cryo-freezing, we waited.

We woke up thirty years ago. Now?

We're going to survive, whether the forest likes it or not.

But when we got visitors…ponies…from the east, seeking new lands, we took the first step.

We are the Overgrown.

We are Humanity.

And we'll survive…

And nothing will stand in our way.

For thirty years since the Slumber was ended, when Humanity, or what remained of it, ascended from the mountain complex known as the Haven Sanctum, they found a changed world. Forests covered the land, and the once-great cities of humanity lay in ruins.

But they persevered.

They survived, and now they have a home.

But when a fleet of wooden sailboats arrives in Massachusetts bay, populated by Ponies from the east seeking land for colonization, humanity, strong as ever, will take a stand.

But whether or not they will rise up, remains to be seen…

my first non-crossover story on site, but this one has been in the works for a while.

The Overgrow was a period of time when the plant life in the Eastern Hemisphere ran rampant, destroying everything in their path. Triggered by an immense period of solar radiation, The forest that eventually covered most of the United States, except a few areas similar to the 13 colonies, was populated by mutant animal hybrids, and it is said that if you enter the forest without preparing, you'll get lost as soon as you take one step.

That's where the Foresters come in.

The scouts, hunters, and warriors of the remnants of Humanity, they do what needs done to protect Haven. They mark trails, clear animal nests, hunt game, and the like in order to keep the last of Humanity safe.
