//-------------------------------------------------------// Ponyvillie Stables -by Firelight Speckled- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue "Awe-some!,” The tiny redhead jumped off her multicolored horse. “A newbie!” she said as she jogged over to the other four girls, her horse in tow. The five girls all had horses that went to the same stable. The Ponyville Stables. Each girl had their horse, but one; she had a small brown pony. “What stable did she go to, Applejack?” She looked at the blonde girl with her hair slipping out of her pony tail. “Canterlot.” She replied looking up from her tan horse. The girls groaned. Canterlot Stable was more high class and fancy than Ponyville could ever be. The horses and riders there were rude and snotty. They funded Ponyville Stables, but they never gave them enough money. “Maybe they won't be like the others?” Asked the girl with the black curly hair she was grooming a pure white horse with a pure black mane. “I don't think so, Rarity. If they are like any of the ones I met. Ugh! They're just a bunch of meanie pants!” The strawberry blonde whose hair never seen a hair brush in it's life, said stomping her feet with her pink boots. Her golden pony neighed in agreement then nuzzled her to be petted. The blonde quickly obeyed her pony's wish. “Maybe this one's different, Pinkie? Maybe she didn't like the meanies and wanted to change?” asked the other strawberry blonde. Her hair covered her eye and she spoke quietly. A lighter yellow horse, was looking back and forth between the humans as they spoke, neighed softly, like she agreed. The redhead huffed. “Fluttershy I bet that the newbie will come here look at our barn. Then say 'Oops! I want to go back!’” she petted her multicolored horse. The horse accidently stepped on her foot “Dash! Ow! Ow! Ow! That's my foot!” Dash stepped back. The redhead hopped on her uninjured foot. The girls gritted their teeth. All but Pinkie who laughed at Rainbow, seeing a tiny thing like her being stepped on with a big horse like Dash was just too funny for her. “You okay, Rainbow?” Applejack asked. Rainbow nodded. “I don't think A.J would ever do that.” she commented. She liked to tease Rainbow and this was just another things she could add to her list of things to tease her about. “Either would Gem! Her hooves are too clean to ruin!” Rarity added. Rainbow and Applejack rolled their eyes. No matter how much they agured and teased each other, they could agree that they both would have to tolerate Rarity's weekly spa trip -they traded each week. But Applejack was now seeing the enjoyment of the spa, and very secretly, so did Rainbow. “I don't think Butterfly would ever do a thing like that.” Fluttershy added softly. Though no one seemed to hear. “Even if Pie stepped on my foot, she's so tiny I wouldn't feel it! Kinda like you Dashie!” Pinkie said, jumping over and pushing Rainbow on the head with her hand. “Hey!” Rainbow complained. Applejack just had to smile. Everyone joked about either Flutterdash , Appledash, or PinkieDash, but only when they both weren't around. Like Fluttershy knew about Appledash and PinkieDash, but not about Flutterdash. Same with Pinkie and Applejack. But poor Rainbow knew about none of them. Rainbow climbed up onto Dash. She looked weird a tiny girl on a giant horse like that. “Well I'm going to go see if Dash has any speed left in her from today. But I bet she's just like all the others!” she claimed troting off. “She's going to run that horse to death.” Rarity decided. Applejack shook her head. “Rainbow knows Dash's limits.” She told them, stroking A.J. “And she likes to break them.” Pinkie said. They watched Rainbow ride Dash around the track. Maybe this new girl would be better than the other snobby Canterlot riders. Maybe.... Just maybe. Author's Note Hi! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 A black haired girl with two different colored blonde highlights out out of the golden yellow pick-up truck. Her dog, a greyhound, jhmped out of the truck and followed behind her. Today is the first day at the Ponyville Stables. The girl gulped and walked to the end of the truck and trailer. When she opened the door, she saw her beautiful brownish black horse with a light brown mane in the trailer. The horse neighed. The girl smiled. “Hi, Sparkle!” The dog followed her inside the trailer sitting next to her as she petted and put on Sparkle’s halter. “I can't believe Celestia is taking me go here. Can you?” She asked. Roping Sparkle as she walked out. Her dog followed obediently. "I still don't know Spike. Mom said that it would be fun to make new friends. But I still don't believe her. What do you think?" She asked Spike, Spike panted, looked up at her with his tongue half out of his mouth, then barked. She sighed and approached Pinkie with her pony, Pie. Spike nudged her like 'Go on! Make some friends.’ “Ugh. Hi?” She asked. Pinkie wore a bright pink shrit, dark pink riding pants and light pink riding boots. Overall she was one hundred and fifty percent pink. Even her hair was a crazy poofy strawberry blonde. And she just stood there. Making things severely awkward. Spike just sat there panting, looking between the two of them. Then Pinkie's eyes grew wide and she gasped. Pinkie hopped on her pony and ran off yelling. “I HAVE THE BEST IDEA EVER!” she screamed. Making the girl back up and l raise an eyebrow. “Sorry 'bout that, Sugarcube.” The girl turned to see Applejack sitting on A.J. Her cowboy boots and hat gleaming in the afternoon sunlight. “I'm Applejack and this A.J. You must be the newbie right?” She asked jumping off her horse. She wore a cowboy vest, riding pants, and cowboy riding boots. Along with her cowboy hat, she looked like that stereotypical country girl. Twilight sighed. This again. She thought. “Yes, my name is Twilight and this my horse Sparkle. Oh and this my dog Spike. Can you show me around?” Twilight asked Applejack shook her head. “Can't. Too much work to be done." She replied petting her horse's nose. Her horse was strong built, with strong legs and a large chest. Her horse must of worked out in the fields all day, because there was fine and athletic muscles underneath her soft hair and skin. Applejack looked back up at Twilight. "Besides Rainbow wanted that job. She's probably train'n in the race track. She's a bit reckless, but a great racer. Youll know her when ya see her." Applejack promised coming to the race track with a hand. "See you around, Twilight.” Then she waved good bye to Twilight and Applejack walked off. Twilight wandered off toward the race track. The Ponyville Stables weren't anything like Canterlot. In Canterlot if there was a speck of dirt in the wrong place, everyone would freak out until a clean up crew came. But here dirt and dust was everywhere. Dirt roads, messy stalls, they had everything. She sighed. "Just wait, Sparkle. Celestia will take us back to Canterlot. I'm sure of it." She told Sparkle. Then looked down at Spike. "I hope." She whispered. When she got there someone was running the track. Racing threw the loop with amazing speed. Twilight watched her wiz by everything. This must be the fastest horse and rider I have ever seen. She thought. Finally the horse and rider began to slow Twilight started to walk over to ask where Rainbow was. The rider trotted over, without even trying to go fast she matched Sparkle's slow canter at a trot. “Uhm! Excuse me?" The rider noticed her. It was hard to anything underneath her helmet, which was dark blue with a stripe of rainbow going across it. She wore a Extra-Small red running jacket, riding pants and boots. Even though Twilight couldn't see her eyes, she could she smiled. She began to trot over to her. "I'm new and I'm looking for Rainbow can you help- AH!” the horse and rider accidentally slid into a mud puddle getting Twilight and Sparkle all muddy. The rider jumped off. It was obvious that the rider was a jockey. She was so tiny. The rider's horse was so beautiful with their multicolored mane and coat, but it was messy and untidy. “Oh. Can I help you? Sorry. Here let me help you!” It was a girl with a muffled raspy voice. She jumped back on her horse and ran off. She came back with a bucket. She carefully jumped off and took off her helmet underneath was a lock of short untidy and messy red hair, with a rainbow streak, her eyes, well... They kinda ugh... They were a beautiful shade of magenta. And if you think about it her hair was just like her horse. She looked as though she was about to throw the water on me! “No wait! I'm fine! Thanks!” Twilight sighed; this girl was a good racer and she seemed a bit reckless. “Let me guess your Rainbow.” The girl was on the ground letting Spike sniff her hand. She jumped up. “The one and only! Why have you heard of me?” She asked. Twilight rolled her eyes. “Yes. Applejack said you would show me around.” Twilight said. Rainbow narrowed her eyes. “You’re the newbie? Nah. I get to that in a giffie after I'm finish practicing.” She said jumping up into her horse “Oh this is Dash. The fastest horse in miles!” Dash whinnied in agreement. Twilight raised an eyebrow. “Practicing for what?” She asked. Even though she had a good guess. She was reckless, fast, and like to brag -Twilight could well- she had to want to be in the- “The Wonderbolts! If I can get in that prize money can be enough to save the Stables. Besides they're the best jockey's around. They're awe-some!” She said. Dash stomped her hoof, Dash wasn't like A.J she had long, strong legs, but a smaller bulit frame, with smaller shoulders. Which was better for speed. “I bet they would never let someone who can't even show someone around for measly day!” Twilight bragged, that got her attention real quick. She looked at Twilight it was a challenge. “Fine! If I show you around, we do it my way!” She said, Dash rearing up. “Get on your horse, Twilight!” She told her. "We're going racing!" “But I'm more into the ordered routine!” Twilight tried to get herself out of this mess but Spike nudged her near Sparkle. Twilight sighed. “Fine.” She said climbing up. “Where to?” Twilight asked. Perhaps the exit to this crazy place? Twilight thought. “The stalls! I want to show you where your horse will stay. Come on!” She said trotting off. Twilight had to half canter to keep up. Spike was running to keep up with them, staying out of the way of the horse's hooves. Man that horse was fast. “And this is the last stop! The grooming station. Well catch you later, Twilight!” She said cantering off. Sparkle was already winded. How did her horse, Dash, or Rainbow for that matter not be drenched in sweat? Twilight jumped off Sparkle. “My Darling! What ever happened to your horse's mane?” Spike sat up ears perked. Twilight glanced over and saw Rarity grooming Gem. She wore white riding pants and a dark purple scarf and light purple T. Why was she grooming Gem even though her horse's mane was flawlessly curly and smooth. Her coat didn't have a speck of a single dirt on it. It didn't make sense. “Oh.” Twilight remembered the mud puddle. How embarrassing! And her first day! “Just a bit of mud. Can you point me in the direction of the stalls and I'll be out of your hair!” Twilight replied. Her tour was so fast she couldn't remember where everything was. Rarity looked horrified. She stopped grooming and walked over to Twilight and Sparkle. “My hair?! What about your hair?” She said grabbing Sparkle's reins. Pulling Sparkle towards the grooming station. Spike followed like Rarity was the only one he's know in years. So Twilight was force to follow. “No, too green. Too yellow. Too wavey.” Rarity was trying on different bows on Sparkle. Spike was laying in the hay staring at Rarity. Sometimes Rarity from time to time would lean down and pet him, which made him way his tail. “Now, Darling, you're from which stable again?” She asked. “Uhm. Canterlot.” Twilight told her. Rarity gasped, dropping the bow in her hands. She immediately grabbed Twilight by her shoulders, to make them stand face to face. “I have always dreamed of having Gem stay there. The glamer! The elegance!” Rarity exclaimed. “Why don't you?” Twilight asked. Rarity sighed releasing her and walking back to Sparkle. “I will always love Ponyville. I would never leave Ponyville even for Canterlot. Besides the girls would die if they knew I moved to Canterlot” She sighed. She looked at Sparkle adding the last bow. “And that is the last thing. Well I better go and clean up Dash. She's probably as mud soaked as Winona after her bath. Oh well. The stalls are over that way.” She said pointing towards the stalls. She put on Gems halter. Then walked her around a mud puddle and walked towards the race track saying. “Rainbow!” In a sing song voice. Twilight walked in the stalls and saw Fluttershy speaking softly to Butterfly, they were both laying on the ground. She was petting Butterfly’s nose and whispering soft enoucouraging things. Butterfly nickered softly back at her. Butterfly was a light yellow with a white mane. Twilight stood there for a moment then decided. At least I could try making a friend. She thought. Then walked over to her and put out her hand for her to shake it. Fluttershy wore a yellow polka dotted button down T-shirt, white riding pants, and black riding boots. “Uh. Hi! I'm Twilight and this is Sparkle. What's your name?” Fluttershy looked up and fell silent. Her horse stopped making noises. She stared at my hand, and after a moment I put it away, and scratched the back of my neck awkwardly. “Uhm. Fluttershy.” I was startled to hear her answer. But I couldn't hear her. “What was that?” I asked. She sinker lowered, closer to her horse. “It's Fluttershy!” She whispered. She whimpered. I rolled on the balls of my feet, Awkward Silence much? “Well. Okay.” Twilight was about to put Sparkle in her stall when… “HELLO!” Pinkie said. Twilight backed up in surprise. Fluttershy sqeaked in surprise. Pinkie grabbed Twilight's hand, Sparkle's halter, Fluttershy's wrist, and Butterfly's reins all at the same time, them raced them down the main corridor to the racing track, and placed us out in the field, with a confused Rainbow, Applejack, and Rarity sitting in the grass, along with their horses. Well Rainbow was sitting on Dash she was looking around, her hands still in the reins, like she didn't know where she was. Pie was standing there bouncing happily in a circle around them. What was happening?
