A new life in Las Pegasus
A chance meeting
There are some things in life that never change. When I left Cloudsdale and moved to Las Pegasus, I thought I would be able to live a new life making some friends and going to parties with them. It’s been three months since the move and still, I find myself alone in my home just reading yet another one of my tens of books. Even though I’ve read the same books three times over I still read them since they are all I have. All the bookstores here in Las Pegasus don’t have any good literature that really intrigues me in the slightest (For some reason, horror stories are just really popular here and make up most of the libraries).
This story is getting a little old though and I am getting low on food, maybe it’s time I stepped outside and went to the market. I put my book away and trot over to a mirror. I don’t look to bad for being inside reading the whole morning(and maybe a full day or two).’ugh my coat does look a little dirty. Why do i have to have a grey coat that just shows any dirt that gets on it.’ My dad always told me that I got my good looks from my mom. He would tell me that when he was dating my mom he would always compliment her grey and white mane that I inherited from her.‘I really did wish that mom wouldn’t always complain about how short I keep my mane and tail. I’ve told her enough if I grew it any longer that I would have to keep it tidy and it would become a serious hassle. I am really grateful for my father since he gave me my silver eyes that I love so much.‘My wings do look pretty unkempt. Just a quick moment to tidy up and I’ll be good to head out’.
I always heard that Las Pegasus was a loud place to live but after a while it became apparent that it is actually a pretty quiet place during the day. As I walked down the street I had time to think, ‘It has been three months since I moved to Las Pegasus. I only moved here because I wanted to start a new social life (and by new social life, I mean actually getting a social life).Maybe it would be easier to move back to Cloudsdale, it would be easier to get to my job at the weather factory. The packing would be awful but at least I would be able to get new books. Just the thought of books is making me happy, maybe I should check the library one more time to make see if any new books were add….’*CRASH*. “Oww, what did I run in..to” There on the ground was a small mare with a beige coat. She had a styled mane and tail that was a beautiful violet color. ‘ I really should help her up.’ “Are you okay? I’m sorry I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going.”
“No it’s quite alright, truth be told I should have been more careful myself.”
‘Oh Celestia even her voice is beautiful.’
“Do you need help up?”
“Why thank you that is so kind. It’s nice to know that there are some good ponies in this city. If you don’t mind me asking, where were you heading?”
“Oh, nowhere special, just to the market to buy some groceries”
“Well then, would you like to come and get some lunch with me? I was planning on going myself, but it would be great if you were to accompany me. It’s always nice to make a new friend”
“ What friend ? m-me?” ‘she wants to be friends with me? This is so great, my first real friend I’m so excited. I can’t just say no to her, the reasonable thing to do would be to go with her. I could always get groceries another day, right?’ “Yes, of course I would love to have lunch with you.”
“Excellent, shall we go then? I know this great restaurant that is just around the block. We can go there, my treat.”
“Oh you don’t have to do that I’m sure I could pay for myself.”
“I insist, it’s the least I could do since I’m making you skip your plans for this afternoon.”
“Then thank you, umm Miss?”
“It’s Starry Sky”
“Nice to meet you, Starry Sky, I’m Silver Lining.”
