After Duena's connection with her hive was broken she was no longer able to feel the influence of their queen and was deemed a threat to the hive. Like many before her who's connections were broken she ran. A free-thinking 'ling was to be hunted and killed. With a scouting pack on her tail, she ran into a group of heavily armored ponies near the northern border of Changeling territory, with their help she was able to escape death. She would learn that those ponies were part of a program known as Parallel with the goal of rescuing changelings much like herself, take them to Equestria and adopt them into pony society. Little did Duena know what dangers awaited her within the Equestrian borders.
