Hearths Warming past

In his deep sleep, he is woken up by the bell chiming.

"A quarter past?" It rings again.

"Half past?" It rings again.

"A quarter to it?" It rings yet again.

"Good heavens a whole hour passed so quick." Suddenly a light shines from his window revealing a beautiful mare with a snow white mane with a golden wisp above her head, a golden yellow coat, beautiful turquoise eyes, and a beautiful white dress.

"Are you the spirit who's coming I was told about?"
"I am." She spoke in a beautiful tone.

"Who, and what are you?"
"I'm the ghost of Hearth's Warming past."

"Long past?"
"No darling, your past."

"Perhaps you could turn down that light that accompanies you."
"How could you say such thing? This light is the truth, but instead you rather extinguish it with darkness."

"I'm sorry I would have said such thing to somepony."
"Come along, rise up and bear with me."

"I'm tired at the moment and I rather get my rest."
"Now lets not be stubborn Mr." She uses her magic to lift him up.

"For the sake of Celestia, put me down before I get hurt!"
"Nonsense, we have a schedule to follow and time is running out."

"Please, just leave me be."
"It will be fun. I promise everything will be alright." They warp to a location that sparks up some memories.

"Great Scott! I was bred in this little place."
"Isn't it nice to see those lovely children." Suddenly he see's some familiar faces.

"Look it's Feathery Light and Rock bottom. I'll go say hello to them."
"I'm afraid such shadows of the past can't see or know our presence."

"Very well." Inside a school left a little filly reading a book.
"Poor child. He has no company there. He's left alone."

"Indeed. My mother lost her life having my lovely sister. My father on the other hand was a drunk afterward and did not handle it so well." Suddenly a little filly named Fair Trade comes in.
"Dear brother."

"Why hello there little sister. You've grown so well." Said Young Scrooge.
"Was this you before? You look so different."

"Things have changed so quick, but lets not get carried away."
"I have come to bring you home dear brother."

"Really? What about our father."
"He is much more kind than he was in the past. He overcame his addiction and is now a good man."

"I guess it can't hurt to move back." His little sister was often ill, but had a very big heart. Sadly she died a young woman, but had a child. And that was Fred Hollow, the last of his family. And then they go to a warehouse to see a familiar face with a big beard and a happy grin.

"Good heavens, it's Mr. Fuzzywig."
"Yo ho, there! Ebenezer and Dry Clean!" Said Mr. Fuzzywig.

"Bless me, yes. There he is. He was very much attached to me. Dear, dear!"
"Yo ho, my boys! No more work tonight. Hearths Warming Eve, Dry. Hearths Warming, Ebenezer! Let's have the shop closed up, before a man can say 'Winter Wrap Up!' Hill-ho! Clear away, me lads, and let's have lots of room here! Hill-ho, Dry! Chirrup, Ebenezer!" As the event goes, Young Ebenezer dances with a mare that had long pink hair, and a yellow coat, while everypony else dancing around enjoy every second there.

"You know what? I shall have a little fun, this tune is very memorable." Minutes later afterward, they go back to his office.
"Why are we back here?"

"Look upon thou shadow and see." In there Young Ebenezer does his work, when somepony comes in.
"Is something bothering you?" He asked.

"It matters little. To you, very little. Another Idol has displaced me, and if it can cheer and comfort you in time to come, as I would have tried to do, I have no just cause to grieve."
"What idol his displaced you?"

"A golden one."
"This is the even-handed dealing of the world! There is nothing on which it is so hard as poverty, and there is nothing it professes to condemn with such severity as the pursuit of wealth!"

"You fear the world too much. All your other hopes have merged into the hope of being beyond the chance of its sordid reproach. I have seen your nobler aspirations fall off one by one until the master-passion gain engrosses you. Have I not?"
"What then? Even if I have grown so much wiser, what then? I am not changed toward you. Am I?"

"Our work together is an old one. It was made when we were both poor and content to be so, until in good season, we could improve our worldly fortune by our patient industry. You are changed. When it was made, you were another man."
"I was young."

"Your own feeling tells you that you were not what you are. I am worried. That which promised happiness when we were one in heart, is fraught with misery now that we are two. How often and how keenly I have thought of this, I will not say. It is enough that I have thought of it, and can release you."
"Have I ever sought release?"

"No?"
"In what then?"

"In a changed nature, in an altered spirit, in another atmosphere of life, another Hope as its great end. In everything that made my love of any worth or value in your sight. If this had never been between us tell me, would you seek me out and try to win me now?"
"You think not?"

"Celestia knows! When I have learned a truth like this, I know how strong and irresistible it must be. But if you were free today, tomorrow, yesterday, can even I believe that you would choose a dowerless mare, in your very confidence with her, weigh everything by Gain or, choosing her, if for a moment you were false enough to your one guiding principle to do so, do I not know that your repentance and regret would surely follow? I do and I release you. With a full heart, for the love of him you once were. You may. The memory of what is past half makes me hope you will have pain in this. A very, very brief time, and you will dismiss the recollection of it, gladly as an unprofitable dream, from which it happened well that you awoke. May you be happy in the life you have chosen!"
"This is what I asked for! I don't need you in my way!" She runs out the door with tears of sorrow. Suddenly the scene fades to a Christmas eve where somepony comes in to Ebenezer's office.

"What brings you here?"
"Oh, just a little gift for the richest stallion in Equestria."

"Leave me be. I have better things to do."
"Aw you cranky sir. Go ahead and open it."

"Why should I?"
"It's a tonic to make you live longer."

"I guess I could." He opens up his gift to see a test tube with some odd color. Then he drinks it down the hatch. Suddenly he experiences great pain as his front hooves become one leg of a griffin and one becoming more of a lion. His back hooves change into a leg of a lizard and a leg of a donkey. And then he grows wings and a long tail.

"Show me no more! This is too much to see!"
"These are shadows of the past. You shall not blame me for showing you!" Ebenezer without hesitation puts out the light with his two fingers.
