CHAPTER FIVE

Night has fallen in equestria. Twilight is in the castles library browsing thru a book titled: “Creatures and other Entities” by Ghost Writer. “Nothing in this one either.” Twilight tosses the book away. She she takes another book but before she can open it she starts hearing hoof steps outside the library’s corridor. “Spike?” She asks but no one answers. "Spike? Are you awake?" Twilight stays silent hoping Spike will answer. But there is no answer. Twilight stares at the opened door for a moment as the hoof steps are heard closer and closer. Suddenly some sort of shadow in the shape of a pony passes thou the library’s door walking towards the castles rooms. Twilight sees this and quietly follows the shadow into the hallway.

The mysterious figure advances thou the hallway as Twilight stares at it from afar. The figure stops outside Spikes room. Twilight stops as well and watches closely. The door opens slowly. The figure turns its head towards Twilight as if it knew Twilight was following him. The figure has no eyes, mouth or any feature but never the less Twilight feels its stare.

“Bring us to the princess.” The figure says to Twilight as it enters Spikes room.

“No! Wait!” Twilight screams as she gallops as fast as she can thou the long hallway. The door to Spikes room suddenly closes before Twilight can enter. She tries to open the door but it has been locked from the other side.

“Spike! Spike!” Twilight screams as she tries to break down the door. “Please. Not Spike.” Twilight hits the door as hard as she can but the door won't budge.

"Spike! Wake up! That thing is in your room!" She screams as she keeps hitting the door but there is no answer from Spike. The door finally opens but it is too late. Twilight stares in shocked as Spikes dead body hangs from the bedroom celling the same way she found Apple Jack that fateful night. Twilight screams in pain as she sees her friends body hanging lifeless.

As Twilight cries a soft voice is heard. "Why didn't you helped me Twilight?" Frightened, Twilight looks up at Spikes dead body. Spike is staring down at her. His eyes fixed on hers. "I thought you where my friend Twilight."

Twilight wakes up over a pile of books inside the castles library. It was all a nightmare. Twilight is shaking and covered in sweat. She looks around calling Spikes name.

“Spike? Spike?”. She hurries into Spikes room to find him asleep in his bed. She cries and hugs him tightly. “Thank goodness. You’re ok Spike.”

Spike wakes up a little confused. “What?”

“Sorry for waking you up Spike. I just wanted to see if you were ok.” She says as she wipes off the tears in her eyes. "I thought I'd lost you."

"Come again?" Spike seems confused. "What are you talking about?"

"Nothing. Nothing." Twilight smiles to hide her sadness. "Do you want to go to Pinkes for some breakfast?"

"I'd love to!" Spike says enfatically as he yawns.

"Or wound you rather sleep a bit more?"

Spike yawns again. “I’m ok. A little bit tired from the long conversation we had last night.”

Twilight seems confused as she doesn’t recall talking to Spike last night. “Last night?” Twilight asks.

“Yeah. You know. You were asking me about Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.”

Twilight stops him. “Was I inside your room last night?”

“Well yeah. You stood by the door. Remember? I couldn’t see you very well because it was all dark but all I could see was your shadow.” Twilights starts breathing heavily. “Is something wrong Twilight?” Twilight doesn’t want to scare Spike.

“Yes. I’m fine.” She lies. “Why don’t you go over to Pinkies place to get some breakfast?”

“Ok.” Spike answers. "You aren't comming?"

"No. Im fine." She answers.

“Do you want me to bring you something?”

“No thanks. Why don’t you stay at Pinkies place tonight? Have a sleep over. it´ll be fun.”

“Ok?” He answers as she walks towards the door.

Twilight stops Spike as he is about to exit. “Spike. If anything happens to me I just want to tell you that I love you. Ok?”

Spike seems confused. “Are you alright Twilight?” Spike asks.

Twilight lies as she puts on a fake smile. “I’m fine.” She says knowing it might be the last time she sees him.
