//-------------------------------------------------------// An Alicorn's journy -by Cobalt the Kitsune- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// I take an innvantory of my parts //-------------------------------------------------------// I take an innvantory of my parts         The first sensation I ever feel was the cold stone against my side. When I opened my eyes everything was sideways. Maybe because I was laying down. So I rolled onto my belly and tried to get up. Mind you I had foal legs so that was no easy feat. I probably spent a good hour getting to standing position. First thing I noticed I was dark blue. my mane partially went over my eye's so I could tell that that was a light blue. I took an innovatory of all my parts. I started from the head down. One horn, two ears, two eyes, a nose ,a mouth, chin, neck, body, wings, and four legs, gentials. Yes sir I was all here. But, where was here?         I trotted my self around. To my amazement I saw to stone pillars with a cross bar, also stone, at the top. Inside this formation there was a willowy substance. It seemed warm and inviting. I reached to touch it with my hoof, but quickly pulled it back. It's odd it feel I feel pull to yet and away from it at the same time.         I turned away from it seeing that it probably won't help me. Instead I looked into the distance. It was a mundane sea of grey with no other living thing besides me. On the horizon there was a faint orange glow. Somehow I knew that I needed to go that way. not knowing what my wings were for yet so I had to walk. Me, still with my trembling foal legs, paced around untill I got the hang of walkingthen took strides toward the glow. Unbeknown to me there was a cassum a few paces away.  I slid down the step wall of this canyon unable to get a grip. I heard a crack as my wing dashed against a rock. I only felt then pain of the brakes and bruses when I came to the floor of the cassum. The bitter sweetness of my own wram blood filled my mouth. As the pain pulsated through me I wondered if my life was to end so soon after it began. as I slipped into unconiousness a visson took hold of me. A seemed to be lost and drifting in an sea of darkness. "Sirius!" some voice called out. "Sirius!" then felling compelled to answer I called back. "here I am!" I could hear the tumbling fear of a young colt in my voice. "Sirius." it called again "your are to become the patricarch of a great race. The Alicorns! And you and your sisters names will endure through all time." "Tell me what must bedone to acoplish this." "first you much fecth your sisters, Celestia, Andromeda, and Luna. Then you must take them to establish a land of plenty in the east." "tell me we're I must go to find them." "You will travel along the bottom of the ravine until you come to a mountain of fire. You then must climb to the summit. There will you find your first sister Celestia. Then I will give you further guidance." "I will be faithful to this calling." "Good luck Sirius, and may your jounry be not in vain" Just then I opened my eyes and felt a cool soouthing sensation run against my face. It was the stream that had craved out the raiven. I immeadtly was overjoyed and dipped my snout in and gluped down as much as I could. Throughly refreashed and wiped my lips and looked up to that orange glow still visible above the cassum walls, still ever just as far. A carefully limped a few steps, winching at the pain each step brought me. The road before me was long and arduous but I was determined. I was to bring myself and my three sisters to a land of great bounty. And I was resolved from that day forward, come pain, trails or even death I will not let myself fail! On I pressed winching every step. I could feel my wing hanging limply and blood running from a gash on my forhead that made my eye sting when it ran into it. Often I pressed to the rough cassum wall for support. I was making pittiful progress. How foolish of me not to make aware of such an obiscal before setting off. But I mustent think off that now. I cant let my steps slow for a moment lest I colaspe out of pain. As the clots stop the bleeding and my wounds scab over, a certain numbness came over me allowing me to press forward with out feeling  my hooves at all. It was then, as I allowed myself to be lead by my disconnected hooves that I became truly aware of my aloness. The only sounds I herd were off my own breathing and hoof steps. "H-hello" my feeble voice cried our vainly Save your breath sirius. No pony is there.  Then I though of how I was supposed to me my sister at that mount of fire place. Some pony to talk to!  I hastened my steps. But soon I was over come by wearness. My eyes grew heavy. My hoof steps slowed then stopped altogether. I slumped against the wall of the cassum. And slowly let my eyes close and the natural drug of sleep take hold. //-------------------------------------------------------// Mountain of Fire //-------------------------------------------------------// Mountain of Fire I seemed to walk for weeks before i could see any sign I was getting close to my goal. Then that orange glow grew until it almost filled the whole sky. Then I noticed the canyon started to widen out, and the river was running faster and deeper. Also the walls were getting shorter and shorter. Happily I started to run. The mouth of the canyon was now in view. I began to barrel towards it, closing my eyes so happy to pick my sister. My eyes squeezed tight with joy. Suddenly, the sounds off my hooves hitting the stone changed slightly. I opened my eyes and saw the surface I was running on had changed. Instead of the slightly rough, flat, grey stone, my hooves were now on a rippled pitted black surface. a large booming then echoed across the lava field. taken back a bit and tripped. When I looked upwards there was a great mountain. Fire and a great cloud of ash shoot up into the sky from the mountain top. Lightning bolts struck within the ash cloud. making it even more fearful. I gulped and shakily stood up again. Then trying to calm myself I estimated that if I hurry I could get to the mountain in a day. Then another day to get to the top. So I started galloping towards it pumping all my fears into my legs making them go faster. after pumping for a while I slowed to a quick trot. I noticed a pulsating river of lava beside me. What sort of world is this. I thought to myself Is it all this hostile? this barren? Then I noticed the ever pressing smell. It was a bit sour and made me scrunch my snout. The mountain gave another mighty bellow. It almost seemed scold me for getting distracted. Almost as an apology I began to gallop towards it again. More and more rivers of molten rock seemed to sprout out of the rock. I had to hop over the streams of lava to make my way forward. At that moment I began to feel the extreme heat of the lava. Beads of sweat ran down my brow. I began to slow and could barely make the leaps from island of rock to another. Soon I had to pause. I panted excessively. I felt that I would burn up. The mountain bellowed again, “OH MY HECK, I’M COMING, LET ME TAKE A BREAK!!!” It only gave a slight grumble back. As I panted small white flakes started to fall. One fell on top my gagged out tongue. It tasted bit I immediately spat and tried to rub the taste off my tongue. More and more of the bitter flakes started to fall. I had to hope faster and faster to get away. I was covered by the time I reached the base of the mountain. Tried I shook myself off and curled up in a crease of a rock. The mountain bellowed once more almost shaking me from my chosen sleeping spot. “Holly heck, I’m tired. If I try to climb the mountain tonight I swear I’ll faint.” The mountain grumbled.  I curled up again and dug my hooves into the warm black dirt. It soothed me to sleep. My dream that night, was as my first, life changing. There were three bright personages before me. One that shone like the sun, one that glowed like like the moon, and one that twinkled like the stars. I look at my own self and I lumenest a lightning bolt. “Whoa.” The starry one giggled. “Aren't our perfected forms grand Sirius?” “Perfected?” “Pure spirit brother.” Said the lunar one. “Wow...” “So siri, hows it like. Flesh, I mean.” The Celestial one. “I don't know... just feels normal.” “But what about pain, touch, sensation!” She presses ever closer. “I don’t know how to describe it.” She notices me back up. She nodded and said. “I’m getting my body tomorrow... a-and it’s going to be an entirely new experience for me...” “I’ll be there every step of the way.” I then pressed my head against hers affectionately. A strong wind started to blow me away from the three. “Brother, It is time for you to awake!” Luna shouted over the wind. “I’ll be there soon Celestia!” A shout as I stretched out my hoof. “Don’t be too long.” She called back. soon she faded from view. .........         I  woke up on the warm black earth. From behind the cloud of ash peaked a golden disk of light. I blinked as I stared at it. Soon I began to squint and my eyes started to water up. The mountain rumbled shifting my focus to ascending the mountain. Going out of my hiding spot, I started galloping up the black rock path. With new breath in my lungs, and vigor in my muscles I made good time. Small embers along with bitter fumes escaped from wholes that appeared every so often in the rock. But I was able to dodge them with ease. I could tell I was getting close to the top, because the heat was increasing rapidly. I wiped a few beads of sweat from my brow with my unbroken. Soon I popped my head over the edge of the cator and looked into the pool of lava. Gulping down my fear, I slid carefully down  the steep side of the cator, volcanic rock rolling before me. As I reached the edge of the pool I slowed myself by turning sideways. “Tia, you here?” Almost in reply the bubbling surface of the lava started to froth furiously. I back up a bit. A large plum shot up then suddenly nothing. Then a swirl of lava started to mold itself into the shape of a filly. “C-Celestia?” As soon as all of the lava settled she opened her eyes that shone as brightly as that golden disc in the sky. As she slowly walked toward me across the lava, tongues of white flame licked up her legs. The flames turned her lava body into one of flesh. She had white fur, and a flowing ethereal mane and tail.  She was completely transformed into flesh when she stepped the ground in front of me. She then looked up to me with her still glowing eyes. Slowly her eyes dimmed until they showed their true colors. I smiled at her and her at me. “Sirwe, I luv you.” She then hugged my front legs. Smiling I ran a hoof her mane and said. “Love you too, lil sis.” Suddenly the mountain rumbled again. “EEP!” Celestia ran under me and hugged my tail. I chuckled slightly and seat her on my back magically. “Lets get off this mountain.” She hugged my neck and I began to walk down the steep downward slope. ......... Halfway down Celestia took to prodding my limp wing. “Sirwe, arwe you huwt?” “No I’m fine.” She then prodded me a bit harder, causing me to winch. “SIRWE! You are huwt!” “No, I’m fine its just a broken wing.” She straightens up and shout. “Bwoken wing!!” she immediately hops of from me “Sit down immediwtely!!” I decided to humor her so I sat on the warm black rock. She Then rubbed her hooves and stuck out her tongue. I chuckled slightly. When she pulled them apart two pink flames appeared in her hooves. Me wide eyed, she began to rub them into my limp wing. It stung at first but then it began to soothe. “Done!” She said removing her hooves. I then began to move around my now healed wing. “Wow Tia this,” faps it a bit. “this is amazing.” “Your welcome.” I stood back up and stretched out my wings. “Grab on, there's something I want to try.” She then hugged my neck again then I took off. I then ascended up, up, up into the heavens. I loved the sensations and adrenalin pumping through my veins. I felt invincible. After circling round the mountain several times. I landed near the small cave I sleep befor. “Awwnnn.” Celestia whined. “I wanted to fly some more!” “It’s been an exciting day for both of us, and I know I need rest.” I then walked into the cave. Celestia a little afraid ran for me. I had already laid down when she came near to me. She then laid down and nuzzled by the warmth of my stomach. Smiling at the sleeping filly. I felt my eyelids grow heavy and slip over my eyes. Then It was a matter of moments till the drug of sleep took hold //-------------------------------------------------------// Ways not to go crazy while traveling alone //-------------------------------------------------------// Ways not to go crazy while traveling alone As I waked from my dreamless sleep I became aware of the mats of fur and dried blood. So a wadded part way into the stream and used one of the smooth, wet stones at the bottom to wash. There was no pony around to see so I didn't worry about the indecent exposure. after exiting the river I shook off the water droplets sit clinging on my fur. Then smoothed out the rustled patches. My limp wing still hurt like Tartarus but I choose to ignore the pain. Instead I tried to think of ways to keep me from going mad with boredom. the bottom of the ravine wasn't what you'd call spectacular. Just dull grey lifeless rock as far as the eye can see. When I looked above me the sliver of sky I could see was equally gray and lifeless. The only entertainment here would be what I could do myself. I started to experiment with my voice. Bending it from bass to flashetto to bass again. Then a tune catchy but annoying popped into my head. First I hummed it then when I thought of words to it I began to sing it. “99 buckets of oats on the wall 99 buckets oats take one down pass it aroung 98 buckets of oats on the wall. 98 buckets of oats on the wall 98 buckets of oats. take one down let it turn brown 97 buckets of oats on the wall.” I when got through about 76 buckets of oats when something stopped me. The sky must have been angry with me, because a bolt of lightning ripped across the sky and chaired the ground in front of me. The raw power of this bolt sparked my interest. A static change, so subtle i didn’t notice it, ran across my horn and increased in power until it broke lose. Did that come from me? I though. Then wondering at this new power a focused on firing a bolt. When I felt sufficiently charged up I let a bolt loose. I smiled and hopped over to the char mark I made. If I can do that what else can I do? I then turned to the river and focus on one of the smooth stones. A fiery white glow enveloped it and it began to rise. “Haha!” suddenly I noticed my horn was also enveloped in this aura. “Whoa!” I immediately dropped the stone and reached up with my hoof to feel it. It felt a little warm but not burning hot. I gave a wide grin. then I noticed the orange glow again. It’s so far off. I looked to my limp wing. I wish I could fly. Then I would be able to arrive there and have some pony to talk to A gave an audible sigh. then desperately tried to flap up but careened into the cayon wall. I tried that several times before admitting defeat. It was still going to be a long road ahead. So I begain to sign again "99 buckets of oats on the wall 99 buckets of oats! Take one sown pass it around 98 buckets of oats on the wall 98 buckets of oats on the wall 98 buckets of oats take one down pass it around 97 buckets of oats on the wall 97 buckets of oats on the wall 97 buckets of oats take one down pass it around 96 buckets of oats on the wall!”
