Pinkie Pie huffed as she lay still on the frigid counter of Sugarcube Corner. These days, it didn't seem like anypony had energy, save for the low groans and mumbles they emitted as they rambled along with their lives.
Even Pinkie, the one mare who rarely dropped her bright smile seemed drained of all emotion.
And here she was now, silently snoring on the counter, her bright pink fur rising and falling with each soft breath.
"IGOTIT!" She suddenly hollered, springing up from her slumber. Her sudden, yet expected outburst surprised noone, because it's Pinkie Pie.
The mare stopped abruptly just outside the door before springing ahead, bursting into (very random) song.
Hello, sunshine, hello, world! It's a good day to go for a whirl! Hello, you crazy mare, hi there, random guy with the graying hair!
It's sunny outside! What a joy! Hey there, pretty boy! How'da do? Oh, you too? That's nice, for I'm Pinkamena Diane Pie, the mare who rarely cries!
Pinkie stopped her nonsensical singing when she reached the Castle of the Two Sisters. Even though only a few minutes had passed, Pinkie had decided that it would be more enjoyable to warp space to appear somewhere random.
That's when she saw it: An old, vine-covered statue of Luna. The same one she had seen during Nightmare Night back when Luna first returned, the one that she sacrificed precious candy to.
Hmm... she thought, inspecting the statue, life's pretty boring to be a normal, sane mare...
And then it hit her.
"I'LL JUST GO INSANE!"
Luna facehoofed.
"No, Pinkie, I won't bring back the Tantabus for the sake of stuffing it in your body. It's illogical, why would one willingly go insane?"
Pinkie chuckled.
"I would, silly goose! I'm Pinkie!"
"No."
"Yes."
"NAY!" Luna shouted using the Royal Canterlot Voice, "THOUST SHALL NOT GO INSANE!"
Pinkie's brows furrowed in frustration.
"FINE THEN!" She shouted back, "I'LL JUST GET TWILIGHT TO MAKE ME INSANE!"
"Nope!" Twilight yelped, running from her castle, "NOPENOPENOPENOPENOPENOPENOPENOPE!"
"Aww, c'mon, Twilight, I want to go insane!"
Twilight shouted from the distance, "YOU'RE ALREADY INSANE, PINKIE!"
Pinkie sat down for a moment, letting the words sink in.
Yeeessss... the mare is right... a voice hissed in the back of her mind, you can show Equestria... what true happiness is...
Pinkie nodded to herself, a crooked grin creeping across her face.
May your soul dance in the light of our insanity...
Celestia waited patiently at the table for Luna. It was the mare's birthday, and since Pinkie was... occupied, she had to make-do with the complimentary cake from the royal kitchens, albeit with much more frosting.
C'mon, Lulu, it's your big day today! Don't be late to it...
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a certain princess's gaming tablet smacked Celestia in the face. Celestia, though mildly shocked by the impact, calmly peeled the device off her face.
She raised a brow as she noticed a hastily-written note scrawled over the glassy surface in bright red ink.
Hello, Princess ~~Sunbutt~~ Celestia! You've probably noticed by now that your sister's missing. I got bored, so I decided that stealing her would be fun! It'll be like a game of hide-and-seek! Except... with a lot more time spent on the "seek" part.

Celestia flipped the device over, reading a few clues that were written on the back, as well as a single side note.
Also, I think eternal day sounds nice, don'tcha think?
Eternal day? Celestia thought, placing the slab of glass and metal on the table, I wonder how Pinkie's gonna pull that off...
Pinkie stood triumphantly atop Canterlot Castle, an annoyed Luna tied up beside her.
"Let me go, Pinkie. Or at least give me something to game with."
Pinkie's eyes scanned her surroundings fiercely, before she tossed a small handheld game towards the Princess.
She turned towards Luna, who only got as far as turning the device on before it was swatted from her hooves.
"Get off your lazy bum, Luna. We're gonna have eternal day..."
Luna shook her head.
"Do you want me to make you?" Pinkie snapped fiercely, pulling out a small gun-shaped object.
"What are you gonna do, shoot me?" Luna laughed, eyeing the gun.
Pinkie slid up beside the princess, rubbing the gun in her face.
"Oh, this isn't any gun, Luly, this is the Cupcake-inator 1000!"
Luna's smirk disappeared almost instantly.
"What does it do?"
"It turns anything into a cupcake!" Pinkie replied.
Not recalling any patent or design whatsoever for said Cupcake-inator-whatever, Luna pushed on with another question.
"Where'd you get it?"
Pinkie shrugged.
"Oh, where'd I get it? It was just... around..."
Meanwhile, on some random planet in a different universe...
Dr. Doofenshmirtz threw another couch cushion behind his back as he tore up his lab in search for his newest invention.
"WHERE IS MY CUPCAKE-INATOR?!" He suddenly screamed, throwing his hands up in the air.
Agent P. yawned as he leaned lazily on a table, watching the man go nuts.
Princess Celestia burst into Sugarcube Corner, her red hat and fake mustache only barely clinging on to her sweaty body.
"WHERE'S MY SISTER?!" She demanded, planting both hooves on the counter.
The human Pinkie Pie at the counter shrugged.
"I'm sorry... uh, Princess Mario, but your sister is in another castle."
Celestia tore off the plumber costume, and stormed out the doors.
Castle... another castle... my old home? No... to obvious... it must be the Crystal Palace!
Upon her realization, Celestia promptly took off towards the Crystal Empire, ignoring the tiny blue smudge in her peripheral vision as she flew past Canterlot Castle.
"UNHAND MY SISTER AT ONCE, PINKIE!" Celestia boomed as she blasted a hole in the palace doors. The guards shrieked in terror as they unsuccessfully avoided the looming doors that begun to fall.
"Auntie Celestia?" Cadence asked, cocking her head, "What are you doing here?"
Celestia panted heavily from her flight as she replied, "Finding my sister."
"I haven't seen Luna since the last time you came over..."
Once again, Celestia angrily stormed out of the palace, not caring a single moment for the pained groans of the guards underneath the fallen doors she trampled.
She's not here, Celestia thought as she began her journey back, so she must be at Canterlot Castle still...
By now, it was supposedly just past sundown. Many ponies were crawling into their beds, some others slinking into various nightclubs and bars, and some even drunkenly stumbling into garbage cans.
The only thing is: The sun was still shining brightly, it's rays blinding many of the sleep-deprived citizens of Equestria.
"Yes..." Pinkie whispered to herself as Luna PWN-ed n00bs in the background, "The day shall last forever... Soon, ponies shall feel the wrath of sunshine..."
"Ahem."
Pinkie swiftly spun around to face Celestia.
"I believe that is my sister over there, tied up?"
In the background, Luna waved her tablet in the air enthusiastically as she struggled to free her hooves.
"Uhhhhhh... no?" Pinkie replied, shrinking back from the suddenly intimidating princess, "I'm Pretty sure that's Derpy wearing a Luna costume..."
Celestia glared at Pinkie. It wasn't simply a glare by now, but the Royal Canterlot Glare. Up until now, there was no use for such glares, but now, for the first time in Equestrian History, there was a need for a glare much more powerful than even Fluttershy's stare.
Pinkie began sweating intensely, feeling a literal hole burning up her mane.
"FINE!" She blurted, "TAKE YOUR SISTER! LEAVE ME ALONE! PLEASE!"
Pinkie shoved the possibly-not-Luna in front of Celestia, and then proceeded to escape through a tear through the universe.
Celestia smirked, and took off the costume.
From the piles of fabric stepped Twilight, who then turned around to pull the mask off of Rainbow Dash.
"We got her good," Rainbow laughed, sending tiny chips of paint flying off her body, "I mean, did you see her face?! EPIC!"
Twilight chuckled. "Yeah, we did pretty well. If it weren't for Thorax convincing a couple changelings to replace us for the day, we'd never be able to pull that off."
Rainbow nodded happily.
Pinkie sobbed hysterically, comedically-large tears emanating from her tear ducts.
"I'M SORRY, GUMMY!" she wailed, "I WASN'T ABLE TO GET YOU A NEW PLAYMATE..."
Gummy licked his eye.
"Oh, you like normal life?" Pinkie asked in a sudden calmness.
Nothing happened.
"Oh." Pinkie replied.
And all that for NOTHING...
Meanwhile, somewhere in Canterlot, Celestia sipped her tea as she shared cake with Luna.
