//-------------------------------------------------------// Acceptance -by Wordling- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: Home //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: Home Before you stands a huge mansion, "So, we'll be living here?" You ask looking up to your father. "Yes, son, we'll be living here. This isn't just a playground, please remember that, son. I had you enrolled to the public school as you wished. I know you will make me proud. After all, you are my son." Your father declares. "Okay, father." You stand there, alongside your father, and in front of the limousine that got you there. You hear the limousine drive off, you also hear your father audibly sigh. He starts walking towards the mansion, you watch him go. Deep in thought, you sigh and follow him. Life has been hard on you two ever since your mom had passed away. Your father has never been the same after her death. Sighing, you start walking up to the building, following your father. Now inside the house, you sit in a chair, looking across the room you're in. There is a glass screen door, you look past it and across the backyard of the mansion, it's a huge garden. It's actually, pretty looking, you decide to go check it out, and open the door between you and that beautiful garden. As soon as you open the door, you run out, semi-closing the door and run out in to the garden. It's huge. It's amazing. You see a hedge maze and enter, wondering where it'll take you. It's been a few hours. You're lost inside the hedge maze. You can see the sun setting. You start to worry. Frantically, you start running around looking for the hedge maze exit. You can't find one, you stop, admitting your defeat to the hedge maze, you lean against a hedge wall. You sigh, for the third time today, today was the worst day you ever lived. Nothing could make it a good day. Suddenly you feel the hedge maze wall suck you in, you mutter some panicked words before watching the world around you disappear. You don't know what happened, but you look around, you're in another part of the maze, you didn't see it before, it was new. There is a fountain in front of you, and no clear exits around you, the night sky shines down on you showing some of the fountain's features. It looked pretty normal, clear, clean water spouting around making an amazing sight to behold. For some reason this fountain didn't look like any other, you slowly approached it. No, it was definitely different. Almost magically. You touched the water. It felt cool to the touch. You could see the night sky reflected in the water. You touched the water again, this time drowning your whole hand in it, it suddenly shined. You jumped back a little, surprised by the sudden shine, but then you came back to the fountain, and placed your hand back in the water. It shined again. You kept your hand there, in the water, it was nice, to cool down, you started to splash the water onto your face. It felt cool and nice. You looked down into the fountain. It looked so welcoming. You touched it again with your hand, and watched the water shine in return. You kept your hand there, watching, suddenly you felt it pull you in! The fountain was going to drown you! You struggled with all your weak might, you knew this was the end, you never could do more than ten push-ups in gym. You had no chance against a magical fountain. You watched in horror as it sucked your hand in, and then your arm! The water started creeping up your arm, sucking you in like a vacuum! You soon fell into the fountain, it's strange power overwhelming you. You realized you were in another room before you passed unconscious. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One: Where Am I? //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One: Where Am I? You rub your head and glance around at your surroundings. The room you're in has a lack of anything, except for that mirror that lies before you. You think you fell from it, but you can't tell for sure. You stand up, and with a small back stretch you head towards the exit of the room. With one hand you open the door, and step outside of the room. You look around the outside of the room, it looks like your in a hall, a castle hall, it's huge, and very shiny, like a crystal. You walk around, with your hands loosely chilling in your pockets, you look at all the fine details of the hallway. Suddenly you see a stallion, in full armor. When he sees you, he yells out, "INTRUDER!" He starts to gallop towards you at full speed, you turn around and start running, unsure of what else to do. The stallion keeps yelling at you to halt, but you don't, you keep running. You look behind you and see him gaining on you, you push on trying to go faster, after all what would happen to you if he caught you? Up ahead there is a fork in the hallway, you choose to go left. As you dash around the corner, you hit into another stallion, crashing down onto the floor, you see the former stallion stare down at you. Crap, they got you. "Brave Shield, help me take this intruder to the princess." You listen into their chat, slightly confused on how they can speak. "Sir, yes, sir!" The other stallion salutes to the former and his horn lights up as the two drag you away with their magic. "Hey! Put me down!" You say, struggling in their magic possession. "Stop struggling." They both say without even looking at you. You try punching out of their magic possession of you, to no avail. They take you to what appears to be a throne room, sitting in the throne is an alicorn. You feel your jaw drop as you stare. The stallions speak to the alicorn, "Princess Cadence, we found an intruder in the castle." "Hey, wait, I'm no intruder, I'm just lost..." You object. "Then why did you run from me?" The stallion questions you, staring you straight in the eyes. "You were chasing me, what else was I suppose to do?" You say, staring at him back. "Everyone, please, stop your fighting." The alicorn speaks, directing her voice to you, "Hello, might I ask how you got here?" "I got lost and these two chased and dragged me here." You say blatantly. The alicorn walks down from her throne and up to you three, "I see. Hmm? Is it possible that you are a, human?" You stare at her for a second, before nodding. The stallions stare at you, clearly never have seen a human before, awed by the fact that they got the chance to see you. Suddenly the stallions release you from their magical possession, and bow down before you, including the alicorn. "I never imagined that I would be able to meet a human." She says, bowing to you, "Welcome to Equestria." "Equestria?" You ask, "Hey, what about Earth?" "Earth? Is that where you come from, human?" The alicorn asks you, no longer bowing down to you. "Um.. Yes, and please don't call me 'human,' I have a name, y'know." You say, now looking around the room, it's massive. "Oh. What do you want me to call you?" She inquires, a gentle smile on her face. For a second, you consider what you'd like an alicorn to call you, but you decide to give her your real name, it would get annoying to be called DikLordAlmighty, all the time. "Just call me, Michael." "Okay then, Michael, would you like to learn about the history of Equestria?" You shrug, and she begins to walk out of the throne room and into the hallway, "Follow me, Michael." "--and that is why Princess Luna raises the moon, and Princess Celestia raises the sun." "Wow, back at Earth  the moon and sun raise themselves." "How strange. Michael, would you like to stay in Equestria for a while, or will you be heading back to Earth soon?" She asks you, and you realize, you recognize her voice. But ignoring that you ponder her question, and decide to stay, comparing Equestria to Earth, Equestria seemed more interesting. "I'll stay, for a while. But, how do I get back to Earth?" "Through the mirror in the room down over there," she points with her hoof down the hallway, "I'm so glad you've decided to stay longer, it'll be nice to have a human stay in Equestria for a while. Humans are like gods to us ponies." "Really?" You ask, surprised, "We don't have any powers or anything." You state. "Humans are the creators, or so the legends and myths state." She says, looking off into the distance of the hallway that you both stood in. No longer walking she looks back at you, "So tell me about your Earth." "There isn't much to Earth, it's just a planet that's part of a solar system." You say shrugging it off. After some time walking around the castle and chatting about Equestria and Earth, you find you and her outside of the castle, in a what she called the Crystal Empire. "Wow. Is all of Equestria this shiny?" You ask her jokingly, every second that you stay here in Equestria, makes you long to see more of Equestria. It's so strange and new, and like a virtual video game, an escape from reality. "Why don't you see for yourself?" She asks you, and hooves over some golden coins to you. "These are called 'bits,' they're like the dollar bills you told me about. Why don't you take a train ride somewhere? How about Ponyville?" Why not, you smile at her and tell her your gratitude, you exchange a few more words and she shows you where the train station is via her hoof. You hug her and run off to where she pointed, as you run, you count the amount of bits that she gave you, you count a total of fifty. At the train station, you finally got here, and you realize that you should probably run outside a little more. You recollect your breath, and ask when the next train to Ponyville is. "Uh, Ponyville, let's see," the train station employee pony starts looking through the train lists, "Oh, the train for Ponyville is the one boarding right now, need a ticket?" You nod, and give him a two bits, as the station signs imply, and he gives you a ticket in return, "Have a nice trip!" He calls out to you as you board the train. You watch the scenery fly by, Equestria, it's so beautiful... //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Two: Ponyville //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Two: Ponyville You jump out of the train, and into the train station. You start walking into the town, Ponyville looks so different... You look over all the town ponies' faces as you pass them, they all stare at you strangely. You take a mental note to get used to that. You start your adventure of Ponyville through aimless wondering, observing all the town's restaurants, cafes, scenery, and houses. As you walk you notice a building or tree, that stands out to you. You jog over to it, and stand in front of the door, an old timey candle is shown on the door. You knock on the door, and try your best to patiently wait. In about fifteen seconds, the door opens and a small purple dragon stands before you, "Woah! You're a dragon?" You jump back in surprise. "Uhh..." The dragon states intelligently, staring at you. There is a moment of awkward silence, as you both stare at each other. Holy crap, a real living dragon... It's so, strangely, small... "Hey, uh, Twilight, you have a visitor?" The dragon calls out to inside the tree. You stare into the tree, the suspense is real. What's up with this dragon? Is it normal? Who is this Twilight? Please tell me they aren't a die hard fan of the book series... "Yes, Spike?" You hear a female voice call back to the dragon. "Twilight, there's some pony, err... Some thing at the door..." The small dragon who goes by 'Spike' declares confidently. You hear what sounds like a pony galloping down stairs, and getting nearer to you, and then a head pops out from behind the door. "Hi! I'm Twilight," the head introduces herself, you notice she has a very lavender aesthetic, and she opens the door wider, allowing you to come in. Spike then retreats back into the tree, picking up a duster from the table where he left it. The purple unicorn beckons you to come inside, smiling wide. "I just received a letter from the Princess!" She says, smiling with anticipation, you presume it was the lovely alicorn you met when you first got here. "I can't believe you're a real human!" You awkwardly smile at her as she proceeds to examine you, a little to close for comfort, "Most ponies don't remember and believe in the myth and legends of you, humans!" "Well, I'm not just a human." You state, chuckling slightly to yourself, it has barely even been at least a day, and you strangely feel like royalty. The lavender unicorns stares up at you, clearly amazed, "Where did you come from?" "Earth," You reply, staring back down into the unicorn's sparkling eyes. "Eerth?" "No, Earth, it's a planet in the Milky Way galaxy." You state, feeling impressed by your basic knowledge of your very own planet of origin. "I don't think I've ever read a book about that before..." She states putting a hoof to her face, contemplating. You stare back at her, she has a cute expression on her face as she thinks. You try to think of something to break the sudden silence, but nothing comes to mind. "None of the books in this library have ever talked about a Milky Way galaxy.." The alicorn states and she walks towards the book shelves. You still try to think of something, but nothing sounds logically correct in your head, I can't say that it's because we might be in different dimensions, they have the same sun and moon right? Then why..? You find yourself staring at Twilight as she skim reads through all her books and throws them to the ground, you notice Spike sigh as he sees her doing this. "No.. No.. No.. No.. No.. No.." Twilight mutters as she reads through the books. "Is something wrong?" You ask, unsure of what is going on. "There is not a single book in here that has any human related subjects!" She says, stomping one hoof on the ground. "So, then, how do you know so much about humans?" You ask, trying to change the subject and not make her any mad, you almost want to question whether you could hold your ground against her in a battle, if you did drive her to get that mad, she would be a fine opponent, her magic would most likely destroy you, and even without magic she could probably still do a number on you. She is a pony, and that is like a horse, and horses on Earth could destroy you, so couldn't she do the same? "Oh, this isn't the only library in all of Equestria," You almost want to face-palm as she explains to you the simple answer, "I ask Spike to travel to far away libraries on a quest to find me a book, about varying topics." You notice Spike gives her a thumbs up as she answers sounding as though Spike was a knight in shining armor, with his magical knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System, and his advance use of those thumbs which he could use to hold books in such a sophisticated manor. "Oh, of course, heheh." You say scratching the back of your neck. Then, something catches your eye, as you glance around the library, a window. But, more of, what you see through the window: a setting sun. The choice is yours, my dear readers, you can stay at Twilight's library for the night, or you can leave, and do something else.
