Do you remember me?

Apple Bloom was miserable. Everyone's mother showed up at school for mother's day except hers. "Where's your mother?" ponies would ask her, "In heaven." She would reply.

She did'nt feel like working on the farm today. She staggered while doing all her chores. She was collecting all the apples her sister, Apple Jack bucked from the tree.

"Alright Apple Bloom!" said Apple Jack. "Catch it!"

Apple Bloom placed an empty basket on her head. Apple jack then bucked the apple tree and its apples fell down. Apple Bloom was running after the falling apples but she did'nt notice the basket fell off her head and the apples hit her head, badly. She passed out.

"Apple Bloom!" said Apple Jack. She ran after that filly and tried to wake her up. Apple Bloom finally woke up after she poured a bucket of cold water on her.

Apple Bloom coughed and said her first words after getting up. "For what the hey you did that for?"

"To wake you up." said Apple Jack

"You could have found a better way of waking me up."

"Sorry, I tried all the better ways. But pouring a bucket of water on you only worked."

"Well.......that's okay."

"Apple Bloom?"

"Yeah?"

"You were'nt paying much attention while you were catching those apples, everyone in our family can do that just fine but if they are'nt able to, then they are upset about something..........Is there something wrong?"

"No.........Everything is just fine."

"Come on Apple Bloom, I represent the element of honesty, so don't you try to lie to me."

" *sigh* Yes you're right."

"So..........whats wrong?"

"Today everyone's mother came for mothers day......except mine."

"Yes?"

"I was sad and I was made fun of. Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo stood up for me........I am very lucky to have them as my friends."

"So?"

"So, I want to know.........what happened to our parents?"

"Apple Bloom......I am sorry.......I can't tell you."

"Please Apple Jack, I want to know."

"No."

"Oh Come on, Apple Jack."

"No."

"Please Apple Jack......I won't tell anyone. Pinkie Promise.

"I SAID NO!"

Apple Bloom's eyes got teary and she looked down at her hooves. Apple Jack did'nt want to be harsh with her so she said.

"Sorry Apple Bloom, It's just.......the death of mom and dad was just......too sad for me to tell you."

"I hardly knew them, you can tell me."

"Sorry Apple Bloom, when mom and dad passed away, it was hard to get used to the fact to that. It took me 3 months to get me and your brother to let go of our grief and believe me those days were cold, lonely, dark, and very very painful. And now I don't want those days to come back and haunt me. Do you understand?"

"Yes......."

Just then Granny Smith rung the 100 moons old Apple Family bell. It was time for dinner after a long day's work.

For dinner, Granny Smith made a delicious salad for starters, a delicious apple pie for the main course and tasty apple flavored ice cream for desert. As the family's life revolves around apples they never get bored of it, so they have it everyday. But today, Apple Bloom did'nt feel like having apples.

"I am not hungry," said Apple Bloom as she moved her plate away from her.

"What?" said Granny Smith. " But I made you favourite apple pie."

"Thanks Granny, but I am not hungry."

"Not hungry?"

"I said it loud and clear."

"Sorry Granny Smith," said Apple Jack. " Apple Bloom is upset."

"Why that is?" asked Granny Smith.

"Granny, I hope you know whats today right?"

"Of course I know, its Sunday!"

"Not just that, I mean.....its.....mothers day."

"Oh, I see.......but Apple Bloom, you can't go to bed starving."

"Let her be Granny, we must respect her wishes."

"Eeyup." agreed Macintosh.

"Okay," said Apple Bloom. " Goodnight."

Apple Bloom staggered to her room and turned on the light. She saw something on her bed. It was an envelope which said 'To Apple Bloom, From Mommy.'

It could'nt be from her, she died 8 years ago. This letter has to be a prank mail sent by her awful classmates. She began reading it.

Dear Apple Bloom,

Do you remember me? Of course you don't, you were very young. You won't believe it but I am your mother. Yes, the one who left you 8 years ago.

Forgive me for not being present today for mother's day, but I was right next to you the whole time. I was as hurt as you when you were made fun of and was healed by your friend's comfort.

I listened to your conversation with your sister that you wanted to know what happened to me and your father. But she hid it as she was scared of grief.

As a member of the Apple family you should be knowing our family's secrets. As you're old enough to listen and understand, let me tell you on your sister's behalf........

Few days after you were born, you were watching your brother and sister buck apples.

"Buck it, Macintosh!" said your sister, Apple Jack.

Macintosh bucked the apple tree and 5 apples fell off and Apple Jack caught it with her basket she took out one and showed it to you.

"Look Baby," said Apple Jack. "This is an apple, say apple."

"Abble." you said.

"No silly, its called an apple."

"Abble!"

"There you are!" said your father. "I was looking all over for the baby Macintosh why you brought her here?"

As usual, Apple Jack spoke for him.

"Sorry Daddy, we wanted to show the baby how we buck an apple tree."

"Well.....its alright, as long as she dose'nt get hurt."

"But she probably may when the baby decides her name."

"Don't worry so much about that.......By the way, its almost time for the baby's naming ceremony."

"Did you hear that baby?" said Apple Jack to you. "You're gonna get a name!"

You must be aware of the apple family's baby naming tradition. A few days after the baby is born, the baby is left alone in the orchard for 10 minutes and the mother comes to look for it, whatever the mother sees next to the baby shall be is name.

"Honey," said your father as he was going inside the farm house. " Its time."

Macintosh carried you outside and left you next to the north orchard. Granny Smith set the timer for 10 minutes when Macintosh came back.

After 10 minutes, it was my time to look for you. You were no where to be seen, that's when I finally found you holding a apple blossom. That Apple Blossom was the most beautiful one I seen in my life. I picked you up and walked back inside the farm.

"What did you name her?" asked Apple Jack.

"Come on, tell us!" said your father.

"Do'nt just stand there! Tell us!" said your Granny Smith.

"Apple Blossom" I said.

"Why that's a pretty name !" said Apple Jack.

"We must celebrate," said your father. "Call all your friends everypony, this will be the the best party ever."

Apple Jack ran off to Rarity's house to call her. She was'nt in her home, so she serched for her and found her next to a very old bridge and below the bridge is a very deep pit.

"Rarity," said Apple Jack. "My sister got named Apple Blossom, we are all going to celebrate the baby's new name. Do you wanna come?"

"And why should I come?" asked Rarity.

"Because my sister got named."

"No, I am not coming."

"Are you still mad I that I broke your sowing machine?"

"Of course, why would'nt I be be?

"For the 100th time Rarity, I am very sorry."

"Sorry Apple Jack, You don't deserve to be forgiven."

She walked on the old bridge which is said to dangerous and ill fated. Unfortunatley, the bridge broke while Rarity was walking on it and that left Rarity hanging on the bridge.

"HELP!!!" cried Rarity.

"Okay, hold on tight I am sending help!"

Your sister ran back home to call me and your father. I wish I had stayed there for a little longer, little I knew this would be my few last minutes of my life.

We found Rarity screaming on the bridge.

"I am going and getting her." said your father. We tied the end of the rope (we brought along with us) on his waist and told me to pull the other. He took another rope and held one end with his mouth and told Apple Jack to hold the other end.

Your father walked down the bridge trusting that it won't break. He gave a hoof to Rarity and she held it. Suddenly the bridge broke and that left your father hanging on it too.

"Take this." said your father as she gave the rope Apple Jack was pulling. She held it with her mouth and your sister pulled her out.

Just then the other end of the bridge broke and the whole bridge fell in the pit. That left me trying to pull your father out using the rope he told me to pull if he fell in the pit. He was so heavy, I was not able to pull him and I fell off the cliff in the the pit.

That's when our family's cold, dark and lonely days started. The whole family was in grief, Apple Jack seemed to be the most traumatized as she was there to witness our our death. Whenever you cried for mommy, Apple Jack would have hollered "WHY ARE YOU CRYING FOR THEM ? YOU DID'NT KNOW THEM LIKE WE DID, YOU DID'NT KNOW THEM AT ALL!"

Apple Bloom like I said before, I am here with you. Always. That's why I don't miss you you you should'nt be missing me. For I am here with you always, even when days are happy, even when the days are sad, I will always be there for you.

Yours Lovingly,
Mommy.

When Apple Bloom stopped reading the letter, she felt like waking up from a dream. She was actually able to see how it all happened.

By listening to her mother's last words on the letter she fell on her bed, asleep.

Just then somepony tucked her into bed, closed the lights and curtains and kissed her on her cheek.

Who do you think it was? It was Apple Bloom's mother, like she said in her letter she would be always be there for her.

Always.
