When Scootaloo endures the pain of confusing emotions and conflicting thoughts, one night she snaps and does something she will always regret. But through the teachings of one particular mare and her kind words, she finds healing and learns to cope with the sadness in her heart.

You could describe it as a sadfic, but it is sad with a purpose. Truly, what I sat down to write was not only a story of depression, but a story of healing and inspiration. Where there is pain, there is relief. Where there is guilt, there is admittance. Where once there was sadness, there is love.

Such is the story I have committed myself to, but the journey that it has taken me on is something different altogether.
I have begun a story with the intention of reaching out to individuals with depression and emotional instabilities. That was my goal.

For the first time whilst writing this, I helped get myself into the appropriate mindset through the means of sights and sounds around me. I listened to deep, and often sad, songs that quickly set the tone of the first chapter, and I ventured to a forested lake to depict what would happen in the second. These things dramatically affected how I wrote, and how the chapters came to be when they were finished.

The song 'Disarm' by The Smashing Pumpkins has quickly become a sort of anthem for it. It describes very well the emotions coming across.

A special thanks to LifetrapCK and Little Hawk who preread numerous times, and for who's advice and help I would be lost in this story without.

And a special dramatized Thumbs Down to Skyware and Dan Derp who bothered me so frequently I scarcely got anything done.
