Chapters As I lay on the Ponyville hospital bed, I hardly heard Applebloom. ‘I think we’ve found your flying problem…’ she said, hoof to her chin and a slight blush on her cheeks. Clearly she was just impressed by the huge rump that now sat behind me, taking up most of the bed. I just looked at her with an air of disbelief, really? I was trying to work out whether she was being sarcastic or was actually just realising that my fat flank which was weighing me down…considerably was why I ended up in this state. It was a bit painful to move after the crash and each time I did, my thin body struggled to keep up with the two huge cheeks that were resting gracefully behind me. It all started a week ago, and I’m blaming Rainbow…
I know, I know – its stupid right? When she said ‘How do you fancy a little contest, squirt?’ I instantly assumed it was going to be the usual. How fast can we reach the next cloud, can I do that sweet jump off the high hill just outside of town on my scooter, how quickly can we do 3 laps of the town or something like that! I didn’t think she was going to suggest an eating contest, it was so unlike her. Dash was super-fast, slender, and the best flyer in all of Equestria – she’s my idol. If she wants to do something, no matter how silly or dangerous it sounds I’m usually willing to give it a go, unless its like super dangerous. But when she started reasoning as to why it was a good idea, I actually listened.
‘Well yeah, I just want to be a great flyer, like you are Rainbow Dash!’
‘Well I might know a way to help you, and it involves what I just said. Have you ever tried…eating clouds?’
No, I had never tried eating clouds. Partly because I could never fly up to get to them in the first place. Why would you eat a cloud? Wouldn’t they be like, all fluffy and just taste of nothing? I mean I never really thought about food much anyway, I just ate what most ponies ate and sometimes went a bit overboard when I was hanging out with Applebloom and Sweetie Belle but that would just be like hay fries or something. As I was thinking about it Dash continued, clearly bored with my lack of response.
‘You know how clouds stay up in the sky? Cos they’re suuuuuper light that’s why! So if you ate a bunch of them, don’t you think you would be super light as well? It’s the obvious answer! If you can eat enough cloud to make your body lighter you can fly in the sky – just like me!’
‘Well yeah, that does sound like a good idea. But who would the contest be with?’
‘Ahh that’s what I meant to tell you’ Dash smirked ‘You would be in contest with me! Well sorta, I used to challenge myself to see how much cloud I could eat in the shortest amount of time. Best I did was 10 clouds in 10 minutes, 1 per minute! 10 should be more than enough to get you afloat anyway, whaddya say? Think you can beat 10 minutes pipsqueak?’
‘I’ll give it my best shot Dash! When do you wanna do it?’
A slight grin spread across Dash’s face, at the time it looked like she was smiling cos I had accepted her challenge, now thinking back it was more like a smirk because she knew, the great prankster she was, she had tricked me into yet another one of her hilarious jokes. She was better after the whole zombie cookie thing but she still liked to joke around a lot.
‘Meet me under my house tomorrow at this time, I gotta go gather up the lightest, fluffiest 10 clouds I can find. You can’t eat storm clouds or anything like that, trust me.’ Which sounded like it came from personal experience more than anything else. ‘See ya tomorrow Scoots, and don’t be late!’ and with that and a rainbow blur, she disappeared over the horizon.
I was super excited about tomorrow, in fact that night I hardly slept. All I could think about was flying and finally being able to get myself off the ground under my own power and flying alongside Dash. It was a dream come true! If I knew what she had in store for me the next day I would have never agreed to it. But there I was, the next day, waiting for her under her house earlier than we agreed because I just couldn’t wait to get flying.
Chapter 2: Clouds Aplenty
‘Dasssssshhhh!’ I wailed from under the house, it was still a pain to get her attention, especially with her house floating so high and me being all the way down here. ‘Daaaaassshhh, I’m here! Did you get the clouds?’
The front door opened slightly and I heard a muffled voice ‘Hey Sports! I’ve got em’ right here! Just gimme a few minutes to get them out the house! These things are super fluffy! Hope you didn’t eat much for breakfast!’ Dash shouted back, clearly she was struggling to gather up all the clouds in one go. The obvious came next: ‘Yeah actually, I’m gonna leave them right here – I’ll bring em down to you one at a time, okay?’
There was a sudden whistling of wind as at her usual breakneck speed Dash flew from her doorway and down below, a little slower this time. Under her right arm she was hugging the largest, fluffiest white cloud I had ever seen.
It was about the size of clouds you mostly see in the skies of Ponyville, except maybe a little smaller – its most notable feature was it looked more…dense that the regular clouds, like it was packed tighter. Clouds were mostly water, but it looked like this one had a lot of water in it. I had no idea how water was going to help me fly, in fact I figure if anything it was going to weight me down. I figured Dash knew what she was doing. As Dash brought it closer I eyed it in more detail, certainly as I suspected before, similar in size to Ponyville clouds, which is about 2 ponies if they stood next to each other and spread their hooves and legs out. How was I going to eat that? Maybe she was going to grab chunks of it at a time, or perhaps these special clouds could do something else I didn’t know about? And 10 in 10 minutes? It didn’t seem possible judging by their size, but there you go.
‘Wooooahhh, where did you get that Dash?’
‘I had to fly preeeety far to find this baby, and the 10 others that are floating around in my living room. It wasn’t easy getting them all here, but you know how super awesome I am. Anyway the important thing is you’re here and so are the clouds. Ready?’
‘Of course! I can’t wait to fly with you Dash, in fact I think this is the most I’ve looked forward to anything – ever!’ I squeaked with excitement. Hah, I can’t believe how eager I was to try this.
‘Alright, well get ready, cos here comes cloud number 1! Open wide!’
I opened my gaping jaw and watched as Dash raised it over her head, now standing on her two hind legs, and brought it down to my awaiting mouth. I thought she might have at least maybe broken it up into more bite-sized chunks but nope. The entire thing was now entering my mouth and going down my throat with incredible speed. I could feel the entire cloud contorting to match the shape of my digestive track which felt oddly nice. I knew clouds were fluffy and could be pushed around a bit before they would break up but I didn’t think they could mould this much before breaking. Dash continued to push down onto the rest of the cloud and stopped just as the last little bit went down my throat.
‘Not bad! That one went down in just over a minute, but you’re gonna have to pick up the pace if you want to beat my record. Here comes number 2!’ Dash rocketing back into her house and then out again in a flash to get the next one. Once again the entire cloud was shoved, not forcefully, but hard – into my waiting open mouth. Again it contorted itself as I swallowed it down, chewing as hard as I could to try to break it up a bit before it entered into my stomach. This time, with the first cloud still inside me I could feel the new cloud pushing up against it. I could feel a shift happening as my body was battling for space, I had always been super thin so my stomach wasn’t that used to all this food (If clouds could be called food). Suddenly there was a shift, and I felt the clouds go backwards slightly.
‘Woah, seems like your body’s compensating for the clouds pipsqueak, ummm’ and Dash was smirking at this point ‘Do you wanna see how? Turn your head.’
As I looked round suddenly I noticed two, much larger, bulging butt cheeks that had suddenly appeared behind my back. My eyes widened as I took in my new found ass that had my body had decided to bestow upon me, it was jiggling ever so slightly as I rolled over to move it into a more comfortable position.
‘Do you wanna go on? I mean when I did this I didn’t quite have…that happen, but it should help you fly, you just might be a little….bottom heavy.’ There was definitely a snort as she said this, but I didn’t take it in at the time, I wish I had, and told myself to stop.
‘Of course I wanna go on, and I still have to beat your time! Give me cloud number 3!’
‘Alright, cloud number 3 coming right up!’
As cloud number 3 went in I could feel it working its way down like the others, then pushing the other 2 further backwards into my butt. It was the same for cloud 4…cloud 5…cloud 6, each one I consumed my body had to deal with somehow, and each time Dash shoved one of them down my throat I could feel my ass getting bigger and bigger. Oddly though, and this is probably what actually kept me going and why I didn’t get Dash to stop – was I could feel myself rising slightly off the ground. The light clouds that were filling me up were definitely having some effect, aside from giving me a huge butt, which was also stretching my cutie mark across my flank. I could feel it expanding with my butt, which was now a fair size, at least double what it was originally before Dash started stuffing me with clouds, maybe more. It was starting to look like somepony had stuffed 2 huge bowling balls inside each cheek. As I was pondering this Dash asked looked at the time so far, this was still a competition after all.
‘So 4 clouds to go, and you’ve got 3 minutes left – looks like you’re not gonna beat my record after all, haha. Still good try Scoots, but once again I’m the undefeated champion.’
‘Give me the last 4, all at once!’ I yelled, wolfing down the last bit of cloud. What a huge mistake that was going to turn out to be.
‘What, no way – there’s no Pony that could eat 4 of the clouds at once, but if you reeeaallly wanna beat my time – hold on.’
Dash whipped away back inside and pulled out the last 4 clouds, somehow, all tightly bound together under her arms. She had squished them together so she could keep a hold of them easy enough.
‘Are you sure about this? I’ve pushed them together pretty tightly. But once they’re in you they’re gonna want to expand outwards again and well…’ Dash looked over at my butt that she was clearly still in awe off, its two football sized globes glistening in the sun. ‘I don’t think you’re gonna have a hard time flying, just keeping your balance, heh.’
‘Come on Dash, I can take it – you know I can!’ Again another terrible mistake, I had no idea what these last 4 clouds were about to do to me.
It was a struggle, at first, the clouds entered my gaping mouth and Dash was really pushing as hard as she could, but as soon as her hooves let go and she was just pushing – the clouds started to expand again as she had said they would. My mouth was so full it felt like my cheeks were going to burst open any second, I knew I had to do something. With Dash pushing with all her might I worked my throat as hard as I could to start swallowing the clouds. You know when you take some medicine and it gets lodged in your throat and you have to keep drinking water to try to force it down, and how uncomfortable it is? Imagine that, but ten times worse, and no water to help you – just your idol shoving as hard as they can into your mouth trying to help you digest what you were trying to eat.
Slowly but surely though, the clouds started to go down my throat and into my belly. Clearly this was taking its toll, it was grumbling a lot and making its fair share of strange noises as the clouds went in. It was doing its best and I could feel the clouds as they were making their way through my body. I picked up the pace and worked my throat and stomach harder, I had totally lost track of time and I still had to beat Dash’s record which I was determined to do. If I could just get these last clouds through I knew she would be proud of me. It was this that was driving me on to digest what I had faster and faster. I could feel the soft, malleable clouds working their way through my body and inevitably…towards my flank.
I could feel the clouds working their way backwards, this time though it was different – likely because there was 4 clouds now headed towards my already bulging flank. I could feel them pushing the other 6 that were already in there further backwards. As I gobbled down the last bit of cloud and turned my head to see what was happening, the only way I can describe it is someone had attached a small invisible helium tank to my butt because as I watched it was visibly getting bigger. Dash was in awe as well, I hardly ever saw her mouth gaping open in disbelief as it was now. She was just staring intently at it, her big round eyes transfixed on what was happening.
I moved one of my hooves onto my flank and gave it a push, it wobbled slightly as it expanded outwards and my tail was starting to get swallowed up by my cheeks, which were now starting to rise over my head. I could no longer roll over, my huge blubbery, but incredibly light cheeks now taking up a huge portion of the space behind me. As the last of the cloud went in and found a resting place in my titanic flank, I felt the expansion slow and eventually, come to a stop. It was an interesting feeling that I had never felt before. My ass was so huge now, so stupidly huge that I was going to have a hard time explaining this to anypony else, but it felt so incredibly light. I had no problem standing up, in fact I felt lighter than I did before I started. Even though it was originally a stupid prank from Dash, that had gone a bit crazy with the unexpected side effect of this stupidly big butt, it had actually worked.
‘So come on Dash, I gotta know – did I beat your record?’
‘Just’ She said, clearly dismayed that I had actually done it. ‘You got in there by about 10 seconds, I guess forcing those last clouds in all together really helped. Neat trick, I’m gonna have to try that someday if I ever do it again.’
Dash suddenly had a look of regret on her face, which was morphing into panic. ‘Look Scoots, I’m gonna level with you, this kind of maybe started out a stupid prank to see how far you would go along with it. I never imagined that you were going to go all the way! Eating clouds can be pretty hard, not because they’re difficult to eat but really hard to digest, whole, like you did. Sure we could have broken them down but then you would have never beaten my time. I was also kinda curious to see if you could take it…’ She trailed off after this, clearly a little bit embarrassed about what she had done to me. At this point as well I was clearly annoyed, because my face showed it which is why she stopped talking. I was determined to make this work regardless.
‘Okay Dash, I get it was a stupid prank, but even though it was a stupid prank it seems to have worked in a weird, probably not intended by you, way? I mean I do feel lighter, even though this...’ at which point I pushed my bulbous behind, which again jiggled around. ‘may not be how it was intended to go, I still wanna try it.’
‘Alright if you wanna try it, start flapping!’
So I flapped…and flapped…and flapped. I closed my eyes and flapped as hard as I could. It was so much easier than before, I could feel my body rising, I wasn’t straining like I normally did. My flank was rising with me, its huge round shape, like 2 small wrecking balls attached to my body, was rising with me as well – in fact it was helping me gain lift. I felt the ground disappear beneath my hooves and then suddenly I opened my eyes, and I was level with Dash’s house, which is when I came bouncing back to reality.
I think the fact that I was, for the first time, flying under my own power was suddenly all too exciting and I was so happy that my whole body decided to lock up on me. I remember Dash telling me a while ago that happened to Fluttershy when she tried to fly while frightened, I suddenly felt my wings snap to my body and utterly refuse to move, no matter what I did. Suddenly I was plummeting towards the ground, butt first, which was rushing up towards me. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Dash trying to get to me in time, but she just couldn’t make it.
‘Oh my gosh, are you okay!? What happened???’ Dash practically screamed with an obvious air of concern in her voice. ‘Are you hurt?’
‘Stay right there, I’m gonna get some help and we can get your across town to Ponyville hospital no problem, ohhh, I’m so sorry!’
Suddenly Dash re-appeared. ‘I’ve got help, don’t worry it’s only Applebloom and Sweetie Belle, but 3 of us should be enough to get you across town. I’ve got something inside I could use as a stretcher so as long as we can get you onto it, we could be okay!’
Chapter 4: Unwanted Attention
I could see both Applebloom and Sweetie Belle coming towards me, at first at a gallop, then a trot. Then they turned both their heads to face each other and I could see what was going through their minds. There was a few seconds of silence before I decided to break it.
‘Okay, you can say it! Yes, my butt is huge thank you very much – you can blame Dash for it.’
‘But how?’ Said Applebloom. ‘I don’t understand. How can your flank be so big but the rest of your body is…so normal?’
‘I don’t know, I think its something to do with how the clouds I’ve eaten have decided to make themselves at home. Look is Dash back yet? She said she was going to get a stretcher and you 3 could carry me across town to the hospital.’
But it was no good, I think the words were just a muffled noise to them – both of them were utterly transfixed on my flank, and my cutie mark.
‘Do you think this was intentional? That I thought it was going to work this way? I thought I was just going to be made light enough to fly, but ohhhh no – another one of grand pranking master Dash’s hilarious jokes. I don’t think though she even meant for this to happen.’
‘Ohhh’ she said, rubbing her hoof gentle against my oversized butt. ‘Feels kinda soft actually, you said its full of clouds? I think they are making it super squishy and kind of bouncy.’
‘Well don’t get too used to it, I’m hoping to get fixed up. Where is Dash anyway?’
And as if right on cue, Dash re-appeared carrying a makeshift stretcher. ‘Okay you two, we need to get Scoots onto this and then high tail it across town as fast as we can. I will go at the front and pull, you two take up the two rear bits and carry it from behind. Scoots can you get on?’
‘Okay, just say when.’
I stood up, again light as a feather and shifted myself over sideways on top of the makeshift stretcher.
‘Dash, it’s kinda thin. You know my cheeks are gonna be hanging over the side as we go across town right?’
‘We can deal with that as we get there, okay both of you, lets help Scoots down – find something to grab onto. I’m pretty sure there is an obvious, large object we can grip fairly well.’
And suddenly I felt 3 pairs of hooves, all under my flank feeling up against it as they helped me lower down onto the stretcher. It felt kind of nice, actually. I was gently lowered on and then the 3 picked it up and took up positions around to cart me through town.
‘Wait, won’t Ponies see me?’
‘Look do you wanna get better and seen to by a doctor, or do you really care about if any other Ponies see you? Personally I’d want some help.’ Retorted Dash, you could see she was getting a bit impatient and wanted to get going.
‘Alright fine, just don’t go to faaaassssstttttt, woah!’
And we were off, going as fast as all their legs would carry them, and me by extension. As we made our way through Ponyville every pony we passed stared at me. It was quite a sight I guess. 3 Ponies carrying another on top of a makeshift stretcher, with me on top and my huge butt practically overflowing from each side. As Dash, Sweetie and Applebloom ran I could feel my huge butt jiggling behind them as the stretcher bounced up and down as they ran with it. My ass was digging slightly into it as they did, and I would have likely actually enjoyed it if it wasn’t bruised so much. I could feel it bouncing up and down, hard. I did try to have a few looks behind me but all I could see was my two huge ball-like cheeks bouncing up and down, with my tail going up and down with them. Across town we went, my butt bouncing around behind me as we went. I was so relieved when we finally made it to the hospital.
And that’s where we are now. The doctors said there is a simple procedure for getting rid of the clouds, this isn’t the first time they’ve seen this. Dash had things to do so had to go, kept apologising practically as she was walking out the door. Sweetie Belle went home to tell me parents and Applebloom offered to stay with me. She kept looking at me intently, and I just had this total look of anger and annoyance on my face. Finally she said…
‘I think we’ve found your flying problem…’
Urgh.
