"Nightmare Moon! You block my path to glory?!" He shouted, raising his sword. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" A voice boomed. Radiant turned back from the effigy pointed his sword in the opposite direction. "Who are you?!" He cried, "Show yourself!" "LOWER YOUR WEAPON." A voice boomed. Radiant lowered his sword and saw a dark alicorn princess. "Princess Luna?" He asked. "Have you forgotten about me, Sir Radiant?" Luna asked. "Not at all." Radiant said, "I saw Nightmare Moon and thought it was blocking my path to victory." "Nightmare Moon was my evil persona," Luna said. "I see," Radiant said, "I've been hearing stories about Nightmare Moon, she was banished by Princess Celestia to the moon, but she came back for revenge until she got defeated by the Mane Six." "Glad you know all that." Luna said. Radiant nodded. "By the way, nice costume, Radiant," Luna said, admiring Radiant's costume, "It suits you." "Why thank you, Luna." Radiant replied. "Anyways, I hope you're looking forward for some Nightmare Night fun." Luna said. "Of course," Radiant said, "It will be my first Nightmare Night with Princess Twilight and her friends." "WELL HAVE FUN WITH YOUR 'GODDESSES', SIR RADIANT." Luna boomed with her Royal Canterlot Voice, then she said in her normal voice, "By the way, I hope you don't mind my Royal Canterlot Voice when you're normal sized." "Not at all," Radiant said with a smile. "That's good." Luna said. Fluttershy saw Radiant and Luna. "Hi, Sir Radiant. Hi, Princess Luna." She said. "Hi, Fluttershy," Radiant said, "How's Aqua doing?" "She's doing okay until she got startled for some reason." Fluttershy said. "I'm sorry to hear that, Fluttershy," Luna said, then asked, "What caused Aqua to be startled?" "Nightmare Night." Fluttershy said. "Oh, dear." Luna said. "Well, shucks." Radiant said "Want to hang out with me, Radiant and Fluttershy?" Luna asked. "Of course." Radiant said. "Yes, please." Fluttershy said. "Excellent." Luna said, "Follow me." Radiant and Fluttershy follow Luna. "Princess Luna, would you like some candy?" Radiant asked, "Pinkie and I worked hard to make these moon-shaped candies to honor you." He offered candy to the moon alicorn. "Oh, thank you." Luna said. She took the piece of candy and ate it. "It tastes delicious," She said, "You certainly showed your Nightmare Night spirit to me, Radiant." "You're welcome, your highness." Radiant said. Radiant, Fluttershy, and Luna went to an abandoned barn. "Why are we here?" Fluttershy asked. "To give Radiant a haunted house experience." Luna said. "Sure." Radiant said. "Remember when you turned into a vampire, Fluttershy?" Luna asked. "Um... Yes..." Fluttershy shrugged, "It was a scary experience." "When did that happen?" Radiant asked. "When I was helping Applejack get the bats out of the apple orchard." Fluttershy said. "Bats are annoying," Radiant said, "They won't stop sucking on my beloved cucumbers in my garden." "That's scary," Luna said, then asked Radiant, "Speaking of scary, what scares you the most?" "Giant, godlike monsters," Radiant said, "Especially ones that terrorize tiny ponies." "Interesting." Fluttershy said. "Perfect," Luna said, "I have an experience just for you, Sir Radiant." "Oh?" Radiant asked. "Are you brave enough to overcome your fears in your haunted realm?" Luna asked. "No problem." Radiant replied. "Alright, close your eyes and we'll get started." Luna said. "Sure." Radiant said as he closed his eyes. Luna smiled and used her magic to put Radiant to sleep, afterwards, she shrank an alicorn knight down in size and placed him in the labyrinth model. "Ready, Fluttershy?" She asked. "Ready." Fluttershy replied. Luna used her magic on herself and Fluttershy to transform into Nightmare Moon and Flutterbat respectively. Radiant woke up from the spell and he found himself in a strange, new world. "Where am I?" Radiant asked. "WELCOME TO YOUR NEW WORLD, RADIANT SWORD." A voice boomed. Radiant covered his ears after hearing an astronomical voice, he looked up and saw the enormous face of a familiar foe, Nightmare Moon. "WHAT IN EQUESTRIA?!" Radiant screeched. "Welcome to your nightmare, Radiant," Nightmare said, "You are in the labyrinth of doom where you will gradually lose your courage and sanity as long as you stay." Radiant tried to fly out of the labyrinth, but the force field prevented him from escaping. "NICE TRY, SWORD," Nightmare boomed, "THERE IS NO ESCAPE. ONLY THE EXIT IS YOUR WAY OUT OF THIS MAZE." Radiant navigated through the confusing labyrinth, he fought Timberwolves, skeleton ponies, and Parasprites through the maze. He was then being chased by the shadow of Nightmare Moon. He escaped from the maze but ran into the giant wall of yellow fur. "F-Fluttershy..." Radiant gasped, "Thank goodness you're here..." He didn't get a response from the titaness. "Fluttershy?" He asked. He saw a scary face of Flutterbat. "FLUTTERSHY!" Radiant cried, "What happened to you?!" He ran away from the titanic bat pony but was stopped by the moon goddess by her hooves. "ANY LAST WORDS?" Nightmare boomed, raising her hoof to crush Radiant. "You got me!" Radiant cried, taking cover as he is about to be crushed, but somehow, he was being lifted by the moon goddess on her hoof, seeing Flutterbat smile. He was then smothered by the bat goddess' lips, blushing. "Care for a kiss?" Nightmare asked. "Um... sure." Radiant said with a smile. He was being kissed as well. Radiant, Luna, and Fluttershy returned to their normal selves. "Did you have fun?" Luna asked. "I sure did." Radiant said. "Sometimes, your fears will eventually transform into your fantasies, thanks to me." Luna said. "I wish you could tell that to Aqua." Fluttershy said. "I'm sure I will, Fluttershy." Luna said. "Yup." Radiant agreed. "Radiant, want to set up a Nightmare Night party with Pinkie?" Luna asked. "Of course." Radiant replied. "Good," Luna said, "Fluttershy and I will be right back." //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue - The Nightmare Begins //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue - The Nightmare Begins Three days before Nightmare Night, the Mane Six and their friends were getting their costumes ready. With the help from Rarity, the fashion designer, Radiant and his friends got to try on their new costumes. Radiant Sword was dressed up as the woodland warrior with a green floppy cap. A blue-handled, double-edged sword completed his look too. Dark Sword was dressed up as a sword-wielding mercenary from his favorite RPG game. He had a sword with a blade wider than Radiant's. Silver Shruiken was dressed up as an oni, a Japanese ogre. Little Prank was dressed up as a witch. Princess Twilight Sparkle was dressed up as a Hoplite. Rainbow Dash was dressed up as an astronaut. Applejack was dressed up as a scarecrow. Pinkie Pie was dressed up as a disco roller skating pony. Rarity was dressed up as merpony. Fluttershy was dressed up as a princess. Starlight Glimmer was dressed up as a lunar magical mare warrior. "Let our Nightmare Night adventure begin." Radiant said while holding out his sword. "Yay! Nightmare Night!" Little Prank cried. "Princess Luna, I'll give you candy that I don't need." Dark said. He was accompanied by Silver Shuriken, who was roaring playfully. Meanwhile, at Aqua Butterfly's Dollhouse in Fluttershy's Cottage, Aqua is having a tea party with her butterfly friends. She felt earthquakes and saw Fluttershy come near her dollhouse. "Hi, mama." She said. "Good evening, little Aqua." Fluttershy said with a smile. Aqua noticed a tiara on Fluttershy's head. "Mama, are you dressed up as a princess?" She asked. "Yes, sweetie." Fluttershy said. "Why are you dressed up like that, mama?" Aqua asked. "Because Nightmare Night is coming." Fluttershy said. "N-Nightmare... N-Night..?" Aqua shuddered. "Yes." Fluttershy said. Her response made the butterfly pony whimper. "What's wrong, Aqua?" She asked. "Why is this Nightmare Night coming?" Aqua shuddered. "It's a holiday tradition that follows Nightmare Moon's legacy," Fluttershy said, "We dress up in costumes, going door-to-door as we ask for candy, play games at the carnival, and watch some musical entertainment. Wouldn't it be fun, Aqua?" "That's nice..." Aqua said, "But what if I get neverending nightmares for the rest of the day?!" She began to whimper even more. "Okay, Aqua, I'll leave you alone," Fluttershy said, "Let me know when you change your mind, sweetie." She walked away from Aqua's Dollhouse. "Oh, my goodness. What's gotten into my little daughter?" She asked.
