Equestria fell years ago, and the kingdom of Griffinstone separated soon after. Now divided into two sides, a kingdom of pride that is still known as Griffinstone and has sworn to staying to the old ways of the griffons before them, and the Red Gear, an empire built with a ruler with an iron claw and an unbreakable mindset that the path to the future is built upon the ponies of Equestria's creations. While Griffinstone believes that the path to resolving a conflict is peace and well reasoning, the Red Gear only thinks of brute force and violence to solve their problems.

Benedict, one of the youngest yet best soldiers serving for Griffinstone, lives his life as normal as can be. Breakthroughs are being made on both sides, both substantial. There is seemingly no end to this war without one side being out of the picture entirely.

Or so everyone thought. Soon, a new threat arises that will force everyone to band together in both terror and for warmth, despite their major disagreements. Ancient winds are stirring, a wicked force of outstanding power is yearning for Griffinstone to be frozen over, and numerous furious beasts and forgotten creatures are standing by its side.
