On the edge of the Everfree Forest, a local inventor named Gadget Rust is found to be working on various inventions for years, having never left his home. When he meets a certain pony, she is surprised about his work and asks him to come to Ponyville to introduce himself to everypony. At first, he is unsure, but she convinces him to take a look at the town.

Hidden deep within the Everfree Forest, an alicorn filled with darkness and anger is plotting and observing the ponies, waiting for the perfect moment to emerge out of the forest and rule Equestria, determined to overthrow Princess Celestia in the process. Perhaps the alicorn is working alone. Or he could be serving under a powerful abomination of darkness…

Author's Note: As you've already guessed, there is an OC in this story and my description may not be detailed enough, but I think the story will speak for itself. This is actually my first fanfic I've ever written, revised. I would put up the old versions, but they jumped around too much and the dialogue was pretty awkward. :P

This version on the other hand, I think it's much better. Enjoy the story!
