A strange dream
A dream?
Load Full StoryNext ChapterIt was the middle of the night. The moon was lit, the stars were shining, and the ground was illuminated in the moonlight. A cool breeze blew past and birds were making their way back to their nests to sleep for the night. Everypony was asleep, dreaming and fantasizing, while the occasional late-night party was dying down. Everything seemed peaceful.
Almost peaceful.
In a royal bedroom, Twilight awoke with a fright. Everything instigated with the book labeled "The Two Sisters" lying on her bed. Had everything just been a bad dream? The last things she remembered from her dream was her friends dying one by one while she stayed immortal, but that couldn't have been real, right?
Then she felt a sudden feeling of loneliness. If it was a dream, that would mean she didn't make friends. She felt tears rolling down her cheeks at the realization that her "friends" were fictional. Then there was a knock on the door.
"Twilight? Can I come in?" said Celestia.
Twilight groggily used her magic to open her bedroom door. She noticed that Celestia had a worried look on her face, asking "Is something wrong?"
"Just a bad dream." she replied.
"Didn't sound like it. Care to explain?"
Twilight sighed as she spoke. "That book. Could that book be possibly true? Could I have been one of the Elements of Harmony?"
Celestia absorbed the information, looking at the book, realizing what she meant. "Not every written event is accurate, you know."
"What do you mean by that?" she asked.
The book was levitated into Celestia's hooves and turned to the page showing what Twilight originally thought represented Luna, but pointed to one of the stars in the illustration. Twilight was confused at first, but stared in shock at where she was pointing. It looked exactly like her cutie mark.
This couldn't have been a coincidence. Twilight realized what this meant.
"You don't mean..." she paused.
"Yes. You were my sister, simply reincarnated. I was meaning to tell you, but I wanted to wait until you were old enough to figure that out on your own."
Suddenly, Twilight started to grow a pair of wings. They sparkled with lavender lights that illuminated the whole room.
Everything started to come together. She created the Elements of Harmony as a last resort to save herself from the darkness that consumed her 1000 years ago, so that she may live on in peace. This must be the Elements' way of giving her a second chance to start anew. To learn from her mistakes.
She never felt happier.
