//-------------------------------------------------------// A strange dream -by PrimeTF- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A dream? //-------------------------------------------------------// A dream? It was the middle of the night. The moon was lit, the stars were shining, and the ground was illuminated in the moonlight. A cool breeze blew past and birds were making their way back to their nests to sleep for the night. Everypony was asleep, dreaming and fantasizing, while the occasional late-night party was dying down. Everything seemed peaceful. Almost peaceful. In a royal bedroom, Twilight awoke with a fright. Everything instigated with the book labeled "The Two Sisters" lying on her bed. Had everything just been a bad dream? The last things she remembered from her dream was her friends dying one by one while she stayed immortal, but that couldn't have been real, right? Then she felt a sudden feeling of loneliness. If it was a dream, that would mean she didn't make friends. She felt tears rolling down her cheeks at the realization that her "friends" were fictional. Then there was a knock on the door. "Twilight? Can I come in?" said Celestia. Twilight groggily used her magic to open her bedroom door. She noticed that Celestia had a worried look on her face, asking "Is something wrong?" "Just a bad dream." she replied. "Didn't sound like it. Care to explain?" Twilight sighed as she spoke. "That book. Could that book be possibly true? Could I have been one of the Elements of Harmony?" Celestia absorbed the information, looking at the book, realizing what she meant. "Not every written event is accurate, you know." "What do you mean by that?" she asked. The book was levitated into Celestia's hooves and turned to the page showing what Twilight originally thought represented Luna, but pointed to one of the stars in the illustration. Twilight was confused at first, but stared in shock at where she was pointing. It looked exactly like her cutie mark. This couldn't have been a coincidence. Twilight realized what this meant. "You don't mean..." she paused. "Yes. You were my sister, simply reincarnated. I was meaning to tell you, but I wanted to wait until you were old enough to figure that out on your own." Suddenly, Twilight started to grow a pair of wings. They sparkled with lavender lights that illuminated the whole room. Everything started to come together. She created the Elements of Harmony as a last resort to save herself from the darkness that consumed her 1000 years ago, so that she may live on in peace. This must be the Elements' way of giving her a second chance to start anew. To learn from her mistakes. She never felt happier. //-------------------------------------------------------// Breaking social norms //-------------------------------------------------------// Breaking social norms Princess Twilight Sparkle, sister of Celestia and ruler of the night and stars, wanted to take a vacation to Ponyville to clear her head of her weird and bizarre dream. Everything in Ponyville was exactly how she remembered it. It almost seemed like she was repeating events. She began to remember what happened 1000 years ago. Political strife and arguments had pushed Twilight beyond her limits and gave her an extremely hard time co-ruling Equestria. Ponies accusing her of being a savage only added fuel to the fire. The final nail was driven when an offender who calls himself a prince taunted her for being "nothing but a low life animal with a broken mind." Overwhelmed by anger and hatred, that very insult caused her to snap. She immediately threw a punch at the so-called "prince" so hard it knocked him out cold. Celestia was alarmed, and called security, but she plowed through them like paper. All the royal guard were trying their best to calm her down, and that's when a shot was fired. Everypony shook in shock and terror as the bullet embedded it's way into Twilight's skull. With her dying breath, she split into 6 pieces and sent them across Equestria, enchanted so that when combined would resurrect her soul. But it wouldn't be until 984 years later. There was a moment of silence mourning her death, though the book stretched the truth as to not reveal her "death" and shock the public. The flashback ended and she walked further into Ponyville, taking in the sights. Many others in Ponyville seemed like they were pulled from her dream. A pony-dragon hybrid who looked like Discord, a mother of 4 who looked like Chrysalis, a noble who looked like Sombra, and a group of teens who looked like the Sirens. Come to think of it, her "Nightmare" form kinda looked like Midnight Sparkle from her dream as well. Maybe the Elements gave her that dream so that she could truly experience what it means to be a Princess. And the wielders of the Elements... she couldn't think of a way to thank them for taking care of the Elements. They turned and looked at Twilight. Their smiles gave her a sense of nostalgia, and she pondered assigning them royal duties so that she could always have them as her friends. Rainbow Dash would be in charge of security, Pinkie would work as the royal party planner, Rarity could make her dresses, Applejack as the royal chef, and Fluttershy in charge of the royal garden. Twilight would do anything to always be with them. She was distracted when a few ponies bumped into her. She turned and looked towards them, and gave a surprised look. It was Sunset Shimmer, Starlight Glimmer, and Trixie Lulamoon. "Oh, um... sorry. I-I wasn't looking." she stuttered. "It's okay. Hey you wanna play with us?" asked Trixie. Twilight paused for a moment. She needed to relax from her duties as princess, and it would be 10 hours before the Summer Sun Celebration. She agreed. "S-Sure." Memories flooded her mind of past events of her dream. She didn't care. For now, she only cared about being a foal again.
