Beyond the Core

A great morning starts with a yawn, and the sun peeking into your bedroom from the curtains. Mine starts with fear.

I jolt up from my slumber, tousling my blanket. Cold sweat is running down my forehead, and even my body is covered in its family. Did you know it isn't pleasant to wake up, drench in sweat and gasping for air, with an accelerated heart? It does fully woken me up, though. No grogginess or fatigue left. Who would've thought this could be an effective method to wake up?

I look around, ensuring this isn't part of my dream. I search for the clock that's beside my bed, wondering the time. The sun hasn't risen from its slumber yet, indicating that I should take more time for nap. But with the condition I'm in, I couldn't shut my eyes. I know I have a small nightmare, but something in me begs it differ.
