The Cutie Mark Nuisances

Rainbow Dash zoomed through the air, the millions of pegasi watching. She took no humility, performing her double-super cloud swirl twister stunt with relative ease. While looping around in the air, she managed to muster a wink under the intense speed, causing several foals on the sidelines nearby to scream with joy. She then flew up as high as she could comfortably go, then pushed herself down like a bullet with extreme speed. Sure, it was a lot of g-force, but this was Rainbow Dash. She could handle anything. Then, moments from the ground, she managed to reach mach 1, causing an explosion of color as the sound barrier broke. The crowd went absolutely eccentric. Even the Wonderbolts stood there, speechless. Then, a cheer began to rise from the crowd. "Rainbow Dash! Rainbow Dash! RAINBOW DASH! RAINBOW DASH!"

"RAINBOW DASH!" Rainbow Dash was suddenly snapped back to reality by a yell from Twilight Sparkle.

"Aww, Twilight, why'd you have to wake me up? I was just about to be initiated into the Wonderbolts." Rainbow mumbled to Twilight from the tree branch, still half-asleep.

"You are about to get initiated into the Wonderbolt. Now, come down here!" Twilight bucked the tree, shaking Rainbow Dash and fully making her alert. She flew down from the tree and hovered above the ground.

"Twilight, what gives? It's everypony's vacation time! I'm gonna use mine for sleep, if you can leave me alone to."

"If you wanted to sleep today, then why did you promise Scootaloo you would teach her how to fly today?"

"Huh?" Rainbow noticed the little orange filly with a scooter and a wagon next to the purple mare. "Oh, yeah. Well, c'mon, squirt. Day's a-wastin'." Rainbow's hooves hit the ground as she began to trot towards Scootaloo, who dismounted her scooter and put her helmet in the wagon.

"Hey, Ms. Twilight, can you take the scooter back for me?" The Cutie Mark Crusaders were staying with Twilight, as most of her friends were on vacation during the pleasant mid-summer days. Fluttershy had taken her animal friends and camped out in a meadow near Trottingham. AppleJack, Big Macintosh, and Granny Smith were with family in Appleloosa (Applebloom had wanted to stay in Ponyville). The Cakes, Sweetie Belle's parents, and Scootaloo's parents were on private romantic vacations, so Pinkie had to babysit the Cake twins, and Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle (Rarity was busy, of course) needed somewhere to stay, and Applebloom wanted to stay with them. So, seeing as 2/3 of them couldn't even stand in Rainbow Dash's house, it fell to Twilight. Long story short, she was roped into one HUGE mess.

"Sure, but don't you want your helmet?"

"Uh, why would she need a helmet?" Rainbow Dash inquired.

"Well, she will be flying through the air on probably unsteady wings, so she could hit a tree or a house or-"

"I'll be fine!" Scootaloo was becoming impatient. "Don't be such a worry-horse!"

"Whatever you say..." The purple unicorn began hauling the vehicle up the dirt-road, back to the library, while Scootaloo walked off with her hero, excited as she could be.
