The world we thought we knew
“You know i never thot i would say this but my parents were right, every little bit. This wasn't the world i wanted our need for that matter, every time my parents would say “you need to get your life together or you'll end up in a hole in the ground or worse in a cage forced to obey everything you're told” they were right about both actually , im in both a hole the ground and in a cage except i'm not being given orders so thats a pulse...kinda.
little did they know i would be the one giving the orders from within the cage,it's really funny im sure everyone goes through this at least once where your life just feels like it's over then you become the leader of the rest of the human race because the earth is destroyed by a meteor that caused everyone to go to war over it because it had an extremely rare metal in it, no..just me...oh. The us was training a lot of soldiers when the war started i was one of the ones that joined the military before the war so i had some special black ops training that no one else in this vault had, i was just appointed leader for no reason, like i have no medical training or governmental training whatsoever but apparently i was the most qualified out of everyone even the drill sergeant that trained me as soon as i was appointed leader i made the drill sergeant my second in command and put him in charge of training the others the skills i had. Once that was done we activated the cryo chambers and put all of us in them we set the timer for 300 years, well there was an error on our end the AI did its job making sure we stayed alive but let's just say that someone added some extra zeros... like six of them.
yeah yeah i know 300 million years is a lot but really what harm could this have done, well a lot really the building was now half buried in the earth and made getting out hard, some of the cryo pods malfunched killing most of us, out of the 200 or so that entered it was just me my closest friends even before the war kris,gabe,and jessie…..there's one other but she needs to stay in the pod i'll explain later probably ,fuck it i might as well get it out of the way.out of the six years that we were in the vault before cryo sleep we had had established some form of relationship some of us getting more intimate than others but still i made a relationship with said girl still in the pod….she was a bitch there's no easy way to say it she was really needy for no reason and she cheated on me, fun right but she was one of the twenty civilians that was entered into the vault. I never thought i would have to see her again but i digress. Me gabe and kris are male while said pod girl and jessie are girls i'm not gonna shay her name you can't make me”.
gabe leans into the view of the camera “it's brain” turning around in my chair i quickly hit him with the book i'm holding causing him to bring his arms up in defense. A pillow comes flying into the view of the camera nailing me in the side of the head.
"you to need to stop that i don't need to be patching wounds again last time you two fought one of you ended up with a broken nose,so please just stop" Jessie shouts out of view of the camera
"fine jessie, gabe don't be a dick and let we finish this recording, go back to your game of rummy with Kris and shut your hole...Jesus” Turning around in my chair i looked at the camera. “i'd start over but it's too late now i stopped caring”. I paused for a moment trying to collect my thoughts. “Ah right i dated pod girl or brian ,kris was dating then joined the military and his boyfriend broke up with him, jessie was dating before the and during the war a man named zen, because the vault malfunctioned he died in his pod, he was in my platoon and a good friend of mine....i miss him….anyway uh there's a town nearby, i know right 300 million years and there's still life on this earth the thing is it's not humans it's some form of sentient horse creatures they stand about mid chest on jessie and she's the shortist one here, from what we see there are three classifications earth, pegasus ,and unicorn from what surface recordings we have from the drone the world has no signs of human life anymore we took photos and vid of the area and found that the pegasus can fly and the unicorns use something we can explain so we've just been calling it magic, as far as we can tell the earth creatures seem to be doing the manual labor like farming and construction.” kris whispers something the mic doesn't pick up i nod my head in agreement. “Ok, this has been Hunter 1-7 reporting… shit i forgot, the current time is 1300 and the date is september/13/300002045 this is brown bear 1-7 signing off.”
“kris when your on your way back after getting your armor on send a dron the get zeus from storage, only load one chain gun and both micro missile pods”i say before picking my rifle from the table and heading towards my office
“Isn't that a bit overkill i mean we have seen their weapons there far from dangerous”
“I know but it's a just incase precaution, i maen hell what if they don't even like our presents in the land and they choose to wage all out war on us you'll be wearing zeus just don't shoot unless you need to or i tell you to”
“Alright i'll get lanser for you to i'll send a scout drone to find a sniper's perch for you”
“Ok see you by the door” we both parted ways and i opened my portable camera for a field report “Hunter 1-7 reporting we are just about to leave for this surface expedition, i figured i should tell you about our armor and ability suits.” i paused for a bit taking a seat on a bench “ok so i have on my QAS (quantum ability suit) a cloak that lets me stay virtually invisible when i'm moving slowly or prone along with a steady aim and jump boost making getting into a good sniper position much easier i prefer rifles so this seemed like the best choice.
Kris perfumes hand to hand and bows over a gun so he chose the sprinters cloak and strength boost the sprinters cloak lets him get up to a jog before the cloak will turn off he also uses silencer boots making his steps virtually impossible to hear without really paying attention.
Gabe uses shotguns over any other weapon in our arsenal he's uses a steady aim and quick reload which lets him make sure he always has something in the chamber, the steady aim and automatic lock on makes it so gabe always his his target even in a crowd.
Jessie is very skilled with a pistol along with any small arms weapon hers are a steady aim quick reload and a custom one i made with wat programing i know the lets her be able to understand and speak any language even though jessie carries a gun she prefers the more political approach so she's gonna do a lot of the taking for us”.
The sound of a door opening can be heard “Oh speak of the devils this is Hunter 1-7 sighing off”
