Introductions
It was sweeping over the tarnished landscape, a force you couldn’t even hope to comprehend. It didn’t stop or slow for anything. You could feel it coming, a magnetic buzz would fill the air before you were overwhelmed by a feeling of emptiness. What is there to do? What could anybody do? The answer? Nothing.
*Yawn*
“Ugh” Erin shifted from side to side, twisting and turning, she let out a yelp as she tumbled off the bed “ah”. “Christ Erin” mumbled Joanne, her roommate. “Think you could be any less loud? Some people are actually trying to sleep” “Sorry Jo, I swear it was an accident, I slipped” Erin returned her roommates mumbling with an apology.
Erin slowly began her morning routine, beginning with her hair. She was always the simple type, never chose something harder than a pony tail. A touch of makeup and a splash of perfume. After doing her business, she came back into the room and apologized yet again "I really am sorry that I woke you up this morning Jo, I understand, it was my fault I fell out of bed" No, she didn't believe that but Joanne was always stubborn.
Throwing on her bra and a simple shirt and jacket, a pair of torn old jeans her mother got her when she was younger-a precious pair of jeans which she had since she was 13 years old. She never did grow any taller. A pair of boots so big, they could stamp out the sun were rapidly shoved onto her feet and the final touch; a pair of tiny beautiful earrings, she would cry for days if these were lost.
Joanne groggily got up and stretched along with a loud growl. “Well, remember, I know your weak spots and I sleep next to you!” Erin shot her a glare before “Wow, what got under your skin today?” “Nothing, I just don’t like being woken up at 7 am.” “Well I’m sorry if you are determined to be a grumpy sod today!” “I wouldn’t be a grumpy sod if you didn’t wake me up” And so the relentless argument continued on and on until they were rudely interrupted.
* Knock Knock*
“…yeah!? Well at least I don’t look like the lovechild of Sonic and Tai-What was that?” Erin was slightly irritated that her insult tirade was cut short. “Well, I don’t know you dumb ass, why don’t you actually go answer it?” Jo earned herself a whack over the head as Erin made her way to the door.
She slowly opened the door to see the excited face of Nick Tanning.  Now Nick was almost always a serious man, from the outside-he would be assumed to be high up business man who had the worry of 4 children plus several companies to keep at the top of the market. For those who thought him as a friend knew he was an extremely dull individual. He rarely talked and when he did, it was completely work related. It was thought that he only saw 2 people as his friends. His work mate James, and Erin. He would almost always be dull unless you caught him working where he was brutally serious and wouldn't be afraid to hurt or even critically burn himself in order to complete his task.
However Nick wasn't always like that, before he got transferred to the power room, he would actually smile along with James. He originally worked in the Finance department which he found absolutely glorious. That was until management thought he had the build for a regulator and sent him down to work directly under the science department. Which just happened to be the power room. It was rumoured that he actually cried before accepting his transference. He went from a loving, friendly, family man to a cold as steel shell. His new workplace is filled with a bright deathly red mist with pipes and tubes everywhere you can see, a constant buzz that would make a beehive jealous.
Anyway, back to the matter at hand. He was staring at Erin with a lit fire in his eyes, That's a first, this must be either incredibly good or horribly bad, either that or he's cracked and gone insane.
