Chapter I — The Beginning of Sunset Shimmer

Sunset exhaled sharply, adjusting the soft pillow behind her neck. She was getting more and more carsick by the moment. Or would the term be bussick in this scenario? Whatever it was, Sunset was definetly not enjoying it.

Beside her, Rainbow Dash was currently occupied with her video game. Her thumbs hit the pad at lightning speed. Her face somewhat calm, yet extreme. Thankfully, her classmate had offered to plug her headphones into the device to block out any sound from worsening Sunset's slight headache. But the blinking lights were becoming the tiniest bit annoying.

"Sunset," a dainty, elegant voice caused Sunset to swerve around in her seat. Behind her, Rarity clenched onto what seemed to be a sleeping mask in her hands. "Here you go, darling. You definetly look like you need it," Rarity generously handed over the mask, Sunset immediately strapping it around her eyes. Now this was better.

"Thanks for that, Rarity," Sunset beamed. And though she couldn't technically see for herself, she could only assume Rarity was giving a smile back. It would be the polite thing to do, after all.

She closed her eyes, beginning to drift off to the land of daydreams. Having a field trip during the first month of school was definetly odd. But it wasn't like you could blame the teachers for arranging it so early. They probably want to get all the major events of the year over with, just like the students. Well, except Pinkie Pie, who immediately made a petition demanding them to spread everything out. But then again, she was the one in-charge of planning all of the school events. And Sunset was sure that she's not exactly happy about half the year being party-free.

Sunset, on the other hand, was thrilled for the change. Something just always seemed to go wrong at these things, and she was happy that she could have her senior year as normal as possible.

"Hey, sleepy-head!" Rainbow's raspy voice returned Sunset to the land of the living. And to be completely honest, she hadn't even noticed herself dozing off. "We're here!"

Sunset placed her fingers on the edge of the lace sleeping mask, pulling it off, shoving it in her pocket and being exposed to sunlight, to once again. Rainbow stood up and slid out of her bus seat, grabbing her backpack and turning around. "Yo, Apollo! We're here!"

A tall figure came out of the back of the bus, his own backpack clenched between his ginormous hands. Apollo Storm, if Sunset remembered correctly, was Rainbow's new stepbrother. The muscular, yet smug male had attended Canterlot too, just about when Sunset had arrived. Fortunately, he had been a senior at that time, so they really hadn't interacted. Hell, Sunset doubted they even knew one another's names. Seniors just didn't seem to fall for Sunset's old tricks as quickly as the other grades.

"So, who's in our group again?" asked Apollo, his deep voice echoing throughout the bus. "Hey! Who's in our group--!" Rainbow shoved a hand into the male's mouth, silencing him before he could cause any further embarrassment.

Rainbow grabbed a crumpled-up list from her backpack's pocket, proceeding to find and read the names. "We got Snails, Trixie--" Rainbow rolled her eyes in annoyance. The magician and the athlete weren't exactly on the best terms, after all, "-- Sunset, Rarity, and me."

Apollo grimaced at the group of names, "What? No Pinkie Pie?" Rainbow and Sunset rolled their eyes in unison. Ever since Rainbow and her father had moved in with her new stepfamily, Pinkamena Diane Pie had been one of the only things on her stepbrother's mind. Sure, the pink girl was definetly very attractive. But Rainbow found it odd that her already-graduated older brother was interested in her best friend.

"No Pinkie Pie," Rarity rose from her spot on the bus. "Dear Pinkie is in a group with her sister, Lime--" Rarity was caught off by Apollo racing off of the bus, a cream cloud of smoke being left behind. Rainbow let out a groan, following her stepbrother out of the vehicle, leaving Sunset Shimmer and Rarity behind.

Rarity giggled, "He's definitely very entertaining," Sunset snorted in reply.

"Yeah, very."

Rarity placed her hand on Sunset's shoulder, giving a warm, friendly smile, "Well, then. We might as well be following them, then!" Sunset nodded, proceeding to trail behind Rarity off of the golden bus.

As the two finally reached outside, a collection of teachers, chaperones, and students were huddled, awaiting for their tour guide to arrive. Sunset looked around the crowd, trying to find the head of one particular girl. Rarity seemed to notice her search, as she pointed to a small group of students near the entrance of the building. Sunset smiled, embracing Rarity in a short hug and running off towards that direction.

"Hey! Twilight!" she yelled, running up to the meek girl. Twilight turned around, giving a wide grin.

"Oh, hi there, Sunset!" Right next to her, a tall, familiar police officer gave a nod to Sunset. Sunset lifted a hand, waving slightly.

"Shining Armor, sir," joked Sunset. Shining smirked. The two had a certain relationship that could somehow be described as 'boyfriend and older brother'. And even if she wasn't exactly dating Twilight, Shining still kept his suspicions about her.

"Sunset Shimmer. You staying out of trouble?"

"I sure hope so," Sunset nervously chuckled. Inside of the group, Applejack and Fluttershy gave a wave of their own. "AJ, 'Shy! I didn't know you were in this group. I thought your brother was volunteering?"

Applejack gave a small smile, "Well. 'Mac was busy. So 'Shy and I got transferred into this group." Fluttershy gave an agreeing nod.

Sunset turned to Twilight, once again. "So! Uhm. I just wanted to say 'Hi', that's all," she assured. "Wanna make sure your adjusted to the Canterlot High setting."

Twilight chuckled, "Well, I definetly am, Sunset. Thank you." Both girls' cheeks burned a slight red in color, before Shining interrupted their gaze, giving Sunset the sternest glare she had ever seen, and finally reminding her she had a group of her own.

"Well, you guys have a nice one," Sunset looked at the other two members of the group. Lyra and Bon Bon, if she remembered. The two were currently busy on their phones, probably on some social media site if Sunset had to guess. Walking away, she returned to her group, where Apollo was busy talking to an irritated Limestone.

"Come on, Limestone! It'll be fun!" Apollo wrapped his arm around Limestone, causing her to let out a fierce growl in response. The two had been old high-school friends who had obviously gone different ways.

"Apollo. No way I'd let my little sister even near you," snapped Limestone. "Hell, I'm pretty sure nobody would!" she turned to Rainbow, who was busy being annoyed at the male herself. "How do you live with this guy?"

Rainbow smirked, "I don't even know myself, half of the time," she turned around, scanning the area. "Where is your group anyways, Limestone?"

Limestone's eyes widened. She looked to her side, "What the? They were just here a minute ago!" Apollo smugly smiled.

"Looks like it would be helpful to have an extra pair of eyes, huh?"

Limestone sighed, narrowing her eyes and clenching her fists. Sunset backed up slightly, taking Rarity and Rainbow with her.

"Just. Just help me find my sister and my group, 'kay?" Limestone removed Apollo's arm from her shoulder, walking towards the entrance of the building, where many other groups were already heading for. Apollo pumped his hand into the air in victory.

"Yes!" he grabbed Rainbow and Sunset, pulling them along. Rarity trailed behind, amused at the hopeless romantic's act. "Come on!"

"What about Trixie and Snails?" Sunset questioned, feeling that headache slowly returning. Rainbow snorted.

"Let 'em go. They'll fend for themselves."

"Rainbow," Sunset raised an eyebrow. As much as she didn't like Trixie, they couldn't just leave them. This was a public place, where anybody could go. If one of them got missing, their group would be the one to blame. Dash groaned.

"'Pollo, we needa go back," said Rainbow. Apollo grimaced.

"What, why--"

"Trixie and Snails, remember?"

Apollo heavily sighed, looking at the grumpy Limestone up ahead back to Rainbow. "If we miss anything because of those two--"

"Trixie has arrived!" the young magician, alongside her goofy assistant, popped into view. They each carried an assortment of bags in their hands, all of them from the building's gift store.

"Where the hell were you?" Rainbow snapped, Trixie didn't seem to care.

"Inside the building," Trixie explained.

"Without us?" Rarity sourly pouted. Sunset could tell she was less focused on the fact Trixie left them behind, and more on the fact there was a store in this dump.

Trixie waved a dismissive hand, "Well, well. Trixie just couldn't wait. Besides, we were looking for you guys at one point! Isn't that right, Snails?" Snails nodded.

"Yeah! We looked for you at the coffee shop! The arcade! The giant fountain!"

"Why would we be in any of those places?" Sunset raised an eyebrow. Sure, the arcade she understood. But she doubted any of them really enjoyed coffee. And the fountain was just plain odd.

"Does it matter?" Trixie scowled. "We're here! Let's just get this over with!"

Rainbow slapped a hand to her forehead, before continuing to follow the crowd of Canterlot students into their destination. Rarity slowly followed after, and the silent Apollo trailed behind. Trixie gave Sunset one more stern look, before meeting up with the rest of the group, with Snails right behind her. Sunset frowned, placing her hands in her pockets and following inside.

"This ride is gonna be a wild one."

"Wooah!" Snails looked around the 'museum' in awe, running around from interactive activity to interactive activity. Apollo smiled, turning his eyes to the pinkette next to him.

Yes, the group had somehow found Pinkie and Limestone's other group members: Flash, Bulk Biceps, Derpy Hooves, and Octavia Melody. Somehow, the kids had found themselves getting chased by a let-loose dog from an exhibit. Fortunately, courtesy of Limestone, the dog was returned back to its place, and Pinkie was given one of the worst talks of her life.

"So, uh, Pinkie?" Pinkie turned to face Apollo. "You enjoying this trip?"

"Oh, yeah!" exclaimed Pinkie, widening her eyes. "Besides that mean o' dog from earlier, it's been amazing!"

"And I'm about to make it even better," Apollo whispered. Pinkie raised her eyebrows.

"What did you--"

"Nothing!"

Rainbow groaned, pulling Pinkie away from the chaperone and right between her and Sunset. Apollo whimpered, moping off to another activity nearby. Sunset looked to the right, where Octavia Melody and Flash Sentry were occupied near a clay-station. To her left, Bulk and Derpy were busy blowing away bubbles the girl has packed in her bag. Meanwhile, infront of her, Trixie and Rarity were shopping away, waving their cash around like they just didn't care.

There weren't exactly a lot of things to do here.

"Hey, when does the show start?" Sunset turned to Rainbow. The athlete shrugged, while Pinkie popped a popsicle from a nearby cart in her mouth.

"I think 'Pollo has a schedule," Dash said. "Ask him!" Sunset quickly nodded 'no', much to Rainbow's confusion. "What why?"

"I'm not talking to him, right now," explained Sunset. "For reasons."

"Reasons. Okay then," Rainbow turned to the mini stations around her, completely bored out of her mind. "Hey. You guys wanna go and see if there's anything else here?"

"You mean spilt up from Limestone, again?" Pinkie's eyes widened with shock as she finished her popsicle. "That's a death wish, Dashie!" Sunset shuddered at the thought of what the older girl might do to them if they left.

"She can't exactly touch me and Sunset," Rainbow grimaced. "And if she tries to touch you, I'll show 'er!" Sunset's eyes grew in size, as a large shadow began to darken their surroundings.

Sunset stammered, "U-uh, Rainbow Dash?" Rainbow blinked as Sunset pointed behind her, where an angry Limestone was waiting right behind them.

Yep, they were definetly dead.

"What we're you planning to do, Rainbow?" Limestone raised one of her sharp eyebrows, Rainbow anxiously chuckled.

"Oh, nothing!"

"Nothing, huh?"

"Yep!"

"Pinkamena Pie!" Limestone turned to Pinkie. "Is this true?"

"U-uhm!" stuttered Pinkie. She turned to Rainbow, then to Limestone. "Nope! It isn't true! Please don't kill us, sis!"

"Pinkie Pie!" Rainbow cried, while Limestone patted her sister on the head.

"Now tell me what you were gonna do!"

"We were just gonna go see another exhibit!" Sunset explained, stepping up to the living bomb. "And well, if we want to, we do have the right to! Right?"

Limestone blinked, "That's it?" She turned to Rainbow, who nodded yes. "Then why didn't you say so? Let's go? This place was starting to bore me, anyways! And the show is starting soon!"

Limestone turned around, "Apollo! Move your butt and let's get these kids to the show!" Apollo stood up, a tired expression on his face. Limestone scowled. "Apollo!"

"Coming, coming!" Apollo yelled back, grabbing Snails by his hoodie and dragging Flash along for the ride.

"Hey! This is new man!" Flash barked, causing Apollo to give him a stern glare that even made Limestone jealous. "Uh, I mean, 'sir'!" Apollo dropped the two kids at Limestone's feet, returning for the remaining members of the group. Limestone lightly blushed.

"Uh, Lim--"

"Shh!" Limestone hushed Pinkie, starting at Apollo intensely. "Now that is muscle!"

"Dear, god," Rainbow slapped a hand on her forehead, while Snails rubbed an eye.

"Wait. What were we doing again?"

"Hey! Watch the dress!" Rarity cried out, being pulled by the enraged Apollo. Limestone let out a dreamy sigh, clenching her hands in anxiety.

"Why does everybody in this town have to be so crazy?" Flash questioned, before stomping ahead to the museum theatre.

***

As the two merged groups walked inside of the theater, Sunset could finally see the humongous amount of schools that had gathered. From Crystal Prep, to Griffonstone Academy, students filled up almost every seat in the theatre. The sight was astounding.

"All these schools signed up for such a boring trip?" Apollo snorted. "What a waste of good money, and time!" Flash scowled at the college student.

"You didn't have to sign up," Flash admitted. Apollo gave the boy a cold stare, which Flash immediately returned. Octavia sighed, grabbing the nearby Derpy's hand and beginning to drag her along to the snack table.

"Come on Derpy, let's get some treats," she'd say, in her usual elegant, accented voice. Derpy beamed, and Sunset could imagine the stack of muffins already. Bulk raised one of his muscular, white hands.

"I'll get the seats!" he yelled, causing the entire theater to look back at the group in shock. Limestone groaned, taking both Pinkie and Bulk by the collar and beginning their search for a seat. Apollo sighed, looking at the members that remained.

"Don't you girls have some crazy task to do, too?"

Rarity nodded a no in reply, while Rainbow put a sad hand on Storm's shoulder, "Nope!" Sunset, however, was too focused on the crowd to even give sympathy to the sulking male. She waved at a familiar lavender-eyed girl in the crowd, who after a while gave a small wave back.

"Ahem! Lovebirds," Rainbow falsely coughed, getting a snicker from out of Apollo. Sunset jokingly rolled her eyes.

Rarity soon pointed over to Pinkie, who was currently waving her hand in the air like her life depended on it. "Our seats have arrived," Rarity smiled, walking over; Rainbow placed her hands in her skirt-pockets, and along with Apollo, began to trail behind the preppy girl.

"I'll catch up to you!" Sunset called out. "I needa use the bathroom!" Rainbow smirked.

"Sure you do, Sunset."

The red-head ran out of the museum theatre and into the main hall. Tons of other exhibits decorated the outside, though unfortunately, nobody was there to check them out. Was it some school kids only day, or something?

Sunset walked over to the museum key, scrolling her finger across the surface till she finally found her destination: the girls' bathroom. And just around the corner, as well. Giving a small victory grin, she began to walk further and further to her end-goal.

As she passed a couple of exhibits, she couldn't help but feel the tiniest bit curious. A monkey-chameleon hybrid found in the Manehatten Zoo did sound the tiniest bit silly. Though she bet that Fluttershy would be thrilled. But, oddly, that wasn't the weirdest thing she'd seen that day. No. That award would have to go to the next thing Sunset came across.

A small, wooden box.

"Looks pretty, doesn't it?"

Sunset jumped backwards, nearly tripping over her boots. The girl who had caught her off guard gave a nasty grin, obviously trying her best not to burst out in hysterics. The girl had flowing blue hair and tan skin that almost glimmered. Her stern, magenta eyes looking right at Sunset.

"Don't be so secretive about it. You aren't the first one to look at it, ya' know," the woman wore a clean employee polo shirt, along with tight leggings. "Probably even the fifteenth. . ."

"Do you usually stalk seniors?" snapped Sunset, without her even meaning to. The girl simply smirked.

"Only when I'm bored," the woman chuckled. "The name's Whitewash!" 'Whitewash' gave Sunset her hand, which she uneasily shook in return. "You?"

"I rather not give my name to a stranger."

"Oh? Stranger-Danger? You still believe in that bullshit?"

Sunset went quiet, much to Whitewash's amusement. "Just teasing you kid. It's fine. Not like I have a choice," she'd point to the name-tag on her shirt. Sunset nervously laughed. "So, kid. What're you doing out here? The show's about to start."

"Oh. I was just looking for the bathroom, that's all."

"Well, I hate to break it to you, but you can't piss in the box." Sunset internally vomited at the idea of such a thing. Did this girl do that? Was she that disgusting?

"I know that," she replied, in the calmest tone she could muster. Whitewash snorted.

"I'm teasing you kid! Loosen up!"

Sunset knew that, of course, she wasn't an idiot. But something about this employee just made her think she wasn't teasing, at all. . .

"What's the box about?" Sunset curiously asked, not being to help herself. Whitewash pointed to the inscription on the side. "The three ghosts of Canterlot City?"

"Yep!" Whitewash beamed. "Those three ghosties nearly killed the whole population. Hell, I heard that they were this close to World Domination!" Sunset sighed, they weren't the only ones. "Hey, I'll even let you look inside if you want."

Sunset grimaced, shaking her hands, "Oh, no! That isn't necessary!" Whitewash's constant smile seemed to falter at Sunset's reply.

"What? Why not? You chicken?"

"Umm, yes?" Whitewash didn't seem to thrilled at her answer. "Yeah, I think I'll be getting back to my group now!"

As Sunset turned around, she felt a tight grasp on her wrist that instantly yanked her back. She looked at Whitewash for a second time, but it definetly wasn't the same employee as before. Her magenta eyes had turn into a dark, empty green. Her skin turning into something that could only be described as tree bark. Heck, Sunset swore she saw leaves growing out of the top of her head.

"You're not going anywhere!" the voice of the girl sounded much more darker, and soothing than before. There was definetly something wrong. Whitewash turned to her side, shooting what seemed to be a branch out of her wrists and breaking the glass of the exhibit. She'd open the box with same branch, three glowing colors immediately filling up the room with light.

Sunset frowned, digging inside of her pocket with her free hand and placing the mask on the tree-girl hybrid's eyes. "What the!" Whitewash cried.

Sunset immediately raced back to the theater, ready to report on the scene to the rest of the Canterlot girls. Hopefully the Elements of Harmony would be of use in this. Hopefully.

Unfortunately, the once blinded Whitewash had now escaped from her trap, and was currently racing after Sunset as quick as a lightning bolt. Sunset grimaced, slamming the door in front of her and immediately gaining the attention of the audience inside.

The play must've began while Sunset was still out, as the play was now filled with tons of actors and actresses. She could see the disappointment on Principal Celestia's face as she began screaming so loud, all of the building must've heard her.

"Monster! Monster outside!" Sunset shrieked. Whitewash, however, had already catches up to Sunset, and grabbed the poor girl by the waist, thorns cutting through Sunset's clothing and eventually her skin.

"Sunset!" she heard Rainbow cry. The sound of beating footsteps soothed Sunset's worries. Her friends would soon help her out of this.

As not only Rainbow, but the rest of the girls, along with the three chaperones came to Sunset's side, something in Whitewash seemed to switch off, as she fell to the ground, dropping Sunset with her. Fluttershy fell to Sunset's side, anxiously.

"Sunset!"

Rainbow Dash and Limestone each gave each other a nod as they all charged towards the fallen hybrid. Whitewash, on the other hand, continued her position on the ground, not moving at all.

"Wait!" Sunset cried, Twilight helping the injured girl sit up. The group of students and chaperones alike each looked down at Sunset, worry in their eyes. "She didn't do this on her own! I can tell!"

"To hell she didn't!" growled Rainbow. "She hurt you! We all see that, didn't we?" Dash received a free muffled yeses and nods. "Then let's make her pay for it!"

Sunset grimaced, "Something was controlling her Dash! And I think I have a clear idea what!" Sunset turned to Limestone, Shining and Apollo. "You three need to alert everybody! Something is wrong in this place!" The adults stared dumbly at the senior, before finally deciding to follow through with the order. Running inside, only the seven girls remained.

Applejack spoke up for the first time, "What exactly is goin' on, Sunset?" Rarity nodded in agreement.

"I'd like to know that as well, darling!"

Sunset nervously grimaced, still in pain from her several cuts. Fluttershy took out a small first aid kit from her backpack, beginning to apply cream to her wounds that Sunset barely recognized. "This all an educated guess. . . but I'm pretty sure we're dealing with--"

"Ghost!" Pinkie cut off. The scared girl received rolled eyes from Rainbow.

"You really still believe in that stuff?" snorted Dash.

"I-I don't think she's kidding," stammered Twilight, pointing to Whitewash.

Whitewash still remained on the floor, yet the almost holographic green light that came out of her lips was definetly moving. It looked around the circle with invisible eyes, flying into the nearest girl they could find. Which was unfortunately, a caught off guard Pinkie Pie.

"P-Pinkie?" Rainbow stuttered. Pinkie didn't answer. Staring with the same green, empty eyes that Whitewash carried before, she looked around the group, her skin turning the same dark bark.

Sunset immediately grabbed Rainbow by the collar, "Get away!" Dash narrowed her magenta eyes.

Pinkie, however, only fell to the floor clumsily, as the ghost flew out of their previous host and into the theater.

"P-Pinkie!" Fluttershy yelled, tears forming in the corners of her eyes. Rarity grimaced.

"Dash, carry Miss Pie. Sunset, you stay here with Twilight and Fluttershy, and keep an eye on that employee! The rest of us will deal with this ghost!"

Rainbow raised an eyebrow, "You? Deal with something? That'll be the day--" Rainbow was cut off by Rarity's deadly glance.

The three girls raced inside, leaving a teary-eyed Fluttershy, confused Twilight Sparkle and two unconscious females alone with Sunset. Twilight looked at the door, then back to Sunset's position on the floor.

"Ghosts, you say?" her voice sounded moody almost. "This ghost did this to you?" Sunset gulped.

"Y-Yes," Sunset's answer came out like a question, cracks in her tone. Twilight sighed, unexpectedly standing up and running back inside. "Twilight, no!"

Fluttershy sniffed, "What's taking them so long? Are they hurt?" Sunset shrugged. "I hope they're not hurt! This is just all awe--"

And then, the lights turned completely off.

This was bad. Very-very bad.

Fluttershy cried in the darkness, along with about another hundreds students inside.

She grimaced, the sound of Principal Celestia inside the theater, ringing in her ears. "Are all students okay?" Several screams answered in reply. "Okay! Luna, get the emergency kit!"

"I can't see anything, Celestia!" cried back a voice, that Sunset could only assume was Vice-Principal Luna. Sunset frowned, this wasn't exactly helping nobody.

"What is that?" a voice cried. Sunset felt heartbroken at how frightened this person sounded. But she needed to be strong. Especially for people them.

"We're all gonna die!" another replied.

"Trixie is too young to die!" Sunset simply rolled her eyes at that one.

Sunset couldn't take it anymore. She stood up, holding her sides and obliviously running into the theater. Wherever her friends where, she needed to help.

"Damnit!" she shrieked, holding the back of her head in pain as she hit the side of a chair. Those seats just had to be made of those expensive materials, didn't they. What was the point anyways? With the type of people that came here, you'd think they would know better.

Yeah, know better. Sunset thought it was all kind of silly.

Just like balloons.

And. . . clowns.

And. . . oh, so many things were silly.

The smell of what Sunset could only describe as smoke tingled her nostrils, her eyes feeling droopy in response. It seemed she wasn't the only one, however, as many other screams of panic turned into yawns and in some cases, complete silence. She wondered if the whole class. . . no, . . . she must stay awake. . .

She. . . must. . .

Sunset stood up, trying her best to feel the area around her. A light shined in her face in response, and a strange pink face popped along with it.

"P-Pinkie?" Sunset Shimmer stammered. The pink girl giggled, their voice so. . . manipulative, so seductive. Sunset couldn't exactly figure out who it was, but they definetly weren't Pinkie. "Who are. . . "

"Sunset? Rarity? AJ!" a raspy voice cried from the darkness.

"Rainbow?" Sunset's vision turned blurred, her surroundings feeling like they were each covered in fog. Sunset placed her hand on another chair, taking another step. "Rainbow! Where are you?"

The same giggle echoed throughout the room. How did this girl not suffer any of the effects of this smoke? Was she even human? Was she another siren, or demon, or whatever?

"Girls!" cried another voice. Rarity?"Where are you girls?!" Sunset immediately chased after the voice, unfortunately, only to trip on an object in the middle of the lane. Or was it a person?

As she hit the floor, the same laugh echoed throughout the lanes, much to Sunset's horror. How could this person be so soulless? So dangerous?

"Sunset!"

No.

"Sunset, where are you? Help us!"

"Twilight!" Sunset cried, her body not wanting to respond. She had to stand up. She had to save her friends. She needed to. She had to.

Yet, she felt so. . . tired. So. . . so, tired. Her friends could wait, right? Just for a quick nap. One single nap, that's it. After all, they'd understand. They're such good friends, after all. And friends just don't get angry like that. Friends.

Sunset closed her eyes, the smoke surrounding her like a comfy, blanket. Friends. They would get it. They would definetly get it. Good. . . friends.

"Sunset!"

As everything around her turned to a pitch, soothing, midnight black, Sunset Shimmer was unexpectedly hit with one of the biggest waves of light she'd ever experienced. Those same lights from earlier. The ghosts.

Sunset had to get those ghosts back. If it was the last thing she ever did. She had to save her friends. Had to. The sound of her name echoed in her ears , and the haunting laughter taunting her in the background.

"After one quick nap," avother voice entered Sunset's eardrums. From whom she couldn't care less. They were right after all. One nap wouldn't hurt.

*"SUNSET!"*

One quick nap.
