I took a sharp breath and looked down at the ground. Dash and I hung out a bit at her house and now... I'm trying to gain the courage to fly back to the ground. "Whaddaya waiting for?" Dash half-said, half-yelled from what feels like a mile away. "It's just a little drop! It won't hurt you!" She was right. It wouldn't hurt me, but I just couldn't shake off my fear... "I... I can't do it..." This caused Dash to facehoof herself. "Come on! There's nothing to be afraid of! How did you even get up there in the first place?" Truthfully, I had shut my eyes tight while I flew and only opened them when I felt I had crashed through a cloud-like substance, much to Dash's annoyance. After taking another deep breath, I extended my wings and started flapping, angling myself so that I started toward the ground. Of course, I had to shut my eyes tight. "What are you doing?! Open your eyes!" I couldn't tell where the voice was coming from, but I was sure it was from Dash. We had a sort of love-hate relationship. N-not the kind of "love" that you're probably thinking about, I mean... L-like, uh... We sometimes, uh... Get in fights and stuff, but we... We still hang out and stuff. Sometimes go out for a few drinks... B-but we don't try any "funny stuff" on each other! I... I don't like her that way... Well, anymore, at least.

"Wait, stop!" The voice started once more. It seemed more distressed this time, more worried. What could be the reasoning for it? "Open your eyes, Nighttime! You're getting too-" Dash's voice was interrupted by a slight pain going through my body, starting near my muzzle as I crashed head-first into the ground. This wasn't the first time this had happened, but it still hurt all the same. I winced and slowly opened my eyes to see a half-worried, half-annoyed Rainbow Dash in front of me. "Look, you're never going to get over this thing if you keep cowering about it." Dash said as I tried getting up... Again. "I mean, seriously! You're almost as bad, if not worse, than Fluttershy!" I sighed, nodding at this. I've always been compared to her ever since flight school. Maybe I really am just as timid and scared as her... "I know, Dash... It's just... So scary." I finally said after checking around to see if anypony else was watching and scowling at me.

Dash sighed and started trotting toward me. "Come on, let's get that cut healed... Again..." I started panicking. I had a cut?! But that meant... I quickly checked all over my face, looking for signs of a cut. After a couple of seconds, I felt a slight pain after checking my left cheek. That must be where the cut is... Slowly, I brought my hoof back within eyesight. It didn't feel too wet, but I had to make sure... I was visibly getting more and more panicked as my hoof got closer to my field of vision. I thoroughly inspected it. Well, as thorough as you can get, that is... It was difficult to tell if there really was any blood on my hoof due to the reddish color of it, but once I found a small pool of a darker reddish color, I started to feel a bit woozy. "O-oh... Would you look at that? I'm... Bleeding..." I said as I started to lose consciousness. Did I mention I had severe hemophobia? Well, I guess I did now... "Wait! Nighttime, you gotta get..." I could see Dash getting visibly worried as I drifted from consciousness. The last thing I remember is being lifted off the ground by a grumbling Rainbow Dash and being taken somewhere before I... You know.

So I finally got to work on Chapter 1. If it's not really what you wanted or expected, feel free to say so in the comments. I'm open to any and all criticism. To be honest, I really didn't see the similarities between Fluttershy and Nighttime Wishes until people started telling me about it. I guess I gotta work on being more unique and stuff... But I refuse to change anything about Nighttime Wishes. Any and all changes to Nighttime's personality, actions, and being, will all be considered Alternate Universes. I may or may not make another story based on one such AU, where Nighttime becomes a vampire... Willingly, of course. I use that version of Nighttime most often, anyways...
