Code and Willow sat side by side in the waiting room. Their children sat on the blue tiled floor in front of them. Playing some sort of game quietly as their parents sat in complete silence.
Code eventually spoke up. Clearing her throat she said, "Once again I am so sorry.."
Willow looked down to the box in her lap, it was partly stained a deep red on the sides and the lid. The stains still not looking completely dry from the events of earlier that night. She lifted a protective hoof off her box, and brought it to her bandaged torso. Feeling a dampness on her fur as she brought her hoof up to look at it.
'Yep' She mentally confirmed, 'still bleeding.'
She wiped it onto the box but let her hoof sit there, back in it's original position. Not saying a word back to her wife.
The quiet chatter in front of them stopped. "Is mommy gonna be okay?" Xenolia asks. Before Code gets a chance to answer, the older sibling answers.
"Are you kidding me!?" Quardenza yells, catching everyone in the room's attention. "Code fricken came running into the room and chopped mom's wings off!"
Everyone's eyes turn to Code. And the nurse looks like she's about to dial the emergency number. Willow slides the box off her lap and stands up. She grabs Quardenza's ear with teeth, and takes painful steps over to the nurses' station. Code picks up Xenolia with her tail, setting her down on her back as she follows them over.
She releases her daughter. "I'm so sorry mam, my daughter doesn't know what she's talking about." The nurse looks absolutely terrified. "Right Quardenza?"
"But mom!" She whines. Willow bites down on her ear again. "Ow ow ow! Okay fine I'm sorry I didn't mean it!"
"How did this happen then?" The nurse questions, her voice shaking.
"Major injury at the weather factory." Willow lies. Knowing that this unicorn would know nothing about the weather factory and it's going-ons.
"May I see an I.D. please?"
Code lifts her tail, letting Xenolia retrieve the fake weather factory I.D. from within the fur. Willow somehow had known that it would come to this, she had been making fake I.D.'s for every excuse in the book.
"Alright, it checks out.."
Luckily Willow was good at it.
"Thank you mam, I'm sorry for the scare.." Willow apologized.
"It's truly no problem, please return to your seat now. The doctor will be with you soon."
They all head back to their seats, sitting in silence.
Code and Willow looked around the room at all the other patients; having nothing to say to each other about the accident of last night.
An orange unicorn with her head stuck in a bucket, a brown pegasus comforts her. They seem to be giggling about how this had happened.
A brown spotted earth pony with grey-blue hair. His glasses appear broken, and his eyes dilated. Mumbling to himself as he rocks back and forth in his chair.
A pink bat pony-dragon hybrid, covered in black smoke. Lab coat, hair blown back in messy spikes. She coughs, before meowing. What happened there?
"Willow? Willow Morse?" A doctor calls from the doorway.
Willow waves her hoof weakly, "That's me.."
"We're ready to see you now."
Willow stands up, two nurses come to her side. One grabs her box, the other helps her walk.
"Willow wait!" Code says, wrapping her tail gently around the light purple pegasus' hind leg. "I'm really really sorry. Please... Please, forgive me.." Tears fall from her eyes as Willow turns to her.
Lifting up her hoof, Willow gently traces Code's jaw. "Sweetheart, it'll be okay. I forgive you."
The two share a final kiss before Willow gets whisked into the operating room..
