I was trotting down the street of Las Pegasus. I had bumped into plenty of ponies, and made some sort of an 'eep!' noise. I managed to get to work on time. Heavy breathing came from my small lungs as I walked into the dark kitchen. I was the first one here for once. A loud sigh emerged from my lips. I swished my short tail, and moved the lavender beret in my mane back to where it was supposed to be. My mane covered one of my eyes, I didn't mind. I gave a short look towards my station.
I walked over to it, and put on my small toque. Straightening it out, I got to work. I started by cutting fresh herbs. The scents drifted to my nose, the wonderful scent of dill. It was quite hard, cutting with only hooves. I had no wings or horn, I was an Earth Pony with a soft purple pelt. My eyes were a brilliant shade of violet, and my mane was the color of an actual lavender flower. Although, my pelt was the true color of culinary lavender. I should probably bathe tonight. My eyes closed and I kept cutting.
I put all the herbs into a steel pot. A couple of ponies had joined me now, only giving a brief bit of conversation. I was fairly shy, so I just moved away slowly and got back to work. My eyes wandered towards the pot of soup I was making. The water had been boiling for a little bit, taking in all the flavors of the herbs. I put a few tomatoes in, watching the redness dissolve into the water. I breathed in. Soft puffs of steam rose up. It would take a few hours for the soup to be done, but sauces were just as important.
I had finally just gotten to hanging up my stuff. Scarf, my hat. A small saddle-coat as well I had hoof-made for me. I turned at the fact that the boss had shown up, and my eyes widened. He was never here. I turned, and immediately got back to work. I was frantic. My hooves were flying everywhere, and my fragile form shook. He had wandered past, and ran his tail across my flank. "Good work, honey."
I smiled sheepishly, and squeaked. "T-Thank you." He gave a nod of approval and I tasted the soup I was making. Yummy. I would soon be home though, as my working hours were short when I came in during mornings. Pouring the soup into one of the fancy bowls with a ladle, I gave a nod as I garnished it. Beautiful. I did the same with the ten other bowls. "Sunshine Skies, table number seven." I said quietly, putting the soup into the serving window.
"Leaving already?" Daisy Shine asked. Her head turned to look at me, and her yellow eyes shone in the dim lighting of the kitchen. Her white pelt was glossy and freshly groomed, probably by the spa ponies here in town.
"Yes, I must get ready for the Winter Wallop tonight." It was a quick answer, and with a the slightest swish of my tail, I gathered my stuff, put it on, and left. The cold wind bothered my eartips. I flattened them, and put the scarf up over my snout. Tears were in my big eyes, against the cold air. Everypony was the same right now, bundled up in layers of clothing. My hooves clacked against the hardened, ice covered ground, and I almost slipped. Almost? I did slip.
I got back up, shaking my pelt. "Ow..." I looked around, nopony had noticed. Nopony ever noticed anything in this town. Ponies kept going down the streets. My house was close, thank Celestia.
I opened the door. The warm air hit my body, and I began to strip myself of the scarf. I hung it on the coat rack nearby, along with my saddle-coat. My hat. I went upstairs, this was an awful lot of room for one pony, I know, but it's what I had. I opened the door to my room, laying down on my bed and looking at the dress I had picked up from a store the other day. It was blue, but it didn't contrast with my brilliant purple coat. I sighed once more. Why did I have to choose to go?
I had just finished my bath, and dried myself off. I only had thirty minutes to get there. Rushing back to my room, and began to put on the dress. It wasn't a hard task, as it just buckled underneath my belly. I pulled part of my mane up, and felt my tail move under the soft fabric of the dress. I put a few sparkles beneath my eye. I looked at myself in the mirror, pretty. I found myself presentable.

I was at the party, all the ponies here very overwhelming. My body told me to run away. "Hello, i'm Solar Comet." I turned. A dark blue stallion stood in front of me, yellow bits in his mane and tail. He was wearing a suit, and stood at least a head taller than me.
