"Three more months," sighed Ryan as he looked at his calendar. He was in his tent back in the military base in Afghanistan. Ryan had been deployed back in 2015. He longed for the moment he could go back home, for he had been here for about seven months; and he had seen more violence then he wished he could have seen.
"Get up private," a voice had yelled directly behind Ryan. Startled, Ryan jumped from his sleeping bag. He looked where the noise had come from and noticed it was Seargent David. Seargent David was indeed one of the cruelest people you could ever imagine. He smelt like pure cigarette smoke. His eye was scared, and he had a really awful beard. He also had the strangest accent, from Ireland is what most people thought he was from.
"I had to wake ye up, lass now get yourself ready before I rip you a new one." were his exact words. Ryan had totally forgotten that they were going to patrol due to strange activity around the area.
"Yes sir, immediately"
"Better be before three or no supper, later on, tonight."
Ryan dared not defy the orders of the old man and moved on to get his belongings. He grabbed a necklace with the picture of his parents on it, put it on his neck and was going to turn around. Then he realized he forgot his helmet and heads out to the truck.
"How are you today horse-fucker," yells out his friend Tommy. Now the reason he was called a horse-fucker is because they knew he had watched the show, supposedly meant for little girls. Ryan, however, disagreed with the idea that it was meant for little girls.
"Oh shut it jack-ass" he replied as he tried getting onto the truck. He had a little trouble, so his friend Tommy helped him get onto the truck.
"Thanks, man," Ryan told Tommy. He simply replied with a nod. Ryan decided to see who he was traveling with, so he looked around. 'There are too many rookies on this truck, thought Ryan.
"Hey don't worry about it man, it's only a patrol, well be absolutely fine." comforted Tommy
"Thanks, man," Ryan replied. Ryan thought he must have looked really worried because he was told it was fine.
"Are ye all ready?" Came the old man's voice behind them.
"Yes sir!" said most people on the truck, so the sarge got onto the shotgun of the vehicle.
"Hey, could you wake me up if anything strange happens?" asked Ryan to Tommy.
"O.K, but don't come crying to me when you get caught," replied Tommy.
AN HOUR LATER
"Hey hey wake up fast man," heard Ryan as he was waking up.
"W-Wha?" said a surprised Ryan
"Everyone's hearing stuff, man, are we tripping?" A terrified Tommy asked.
It was still fairly dark outside, so they could not see too far out, so it was a bit terrifying.
Just when Ryan was going to say they were tripping, someone yelled out, "د خدای لپاره"
That's when bullets started whizzing by, and battle cries started pouring out. Mostly everyone was able to get out of the truck when an explosion was heard. Ryan was still near the truck at that time.
Ryan was not hurt too badly, only some minor burns and some scratches, none the less, he was knocked down. He looked around and saw that his side was winning on his right. However, to his left, he saw that they were losing. Greatly.
"Ryan!" yelled out Tommy.
As he started running closer to Ryan, a hostile ran towards Tommy with great speed.
Ryan had to help his friend, so he tried to get up.
That's when he felt a knife penetrate his backside. And he yelled. He yelled bloody murder.Somehow, Tommy was able to fight off his attacker and shoot Ryan's attacker. The sounds of the battle were dying out so that means that a side had won.
"Ryan, c'mon man stay with me, don't go man." pleaded Tommy.
Ryan simply grabbed the locket of his parents in his pocket and opened it. There was blood everywhere he saw. He wiped the blood off the locket. He then looked at Tommy.
"Do me a favor Tom?" said Ryan weaky
"No, no, man no favors no favors." said Tommy
Ryan gave his locket to Tommy and said: "Give to parent..."
Ryan shut his eyes and he went limp.
