He rushed to a nearby alleyway to see that three large stallions were picking on a young mare. Now Bits was no regular Pony. He was a pegasus that had been fitted with a cybernetic front foreleg and a cybernetic eye, both of which he had because of terrible accident. But his cybernetic limbs weren't the only thing that distinguished him from other ponies. He also had a bright, red eye. As Bits came upon the scene, he yelled, "Hey! Back off and leave her alone!" The three stallions turned around and one said, "And why should we? She's just a useless bat-pony!" "Yeah, they're fun to mess with! Besides, we were just seeing if she puts out! She can't do anything!" said another. Bits looked at them, rage spewing from his good eye, his cybernetic one flashing bright green. He lowered his head and charged head on at the three attackers. He kicked his back legs and sent one of them flying into a nearby garbage can, sending trash everywhere. The other two ran at him and grabbed him by the wings and tugged furiously, making a sickening CRACK! They had broken his wings. Bits used his free cybernetic foreleg to land a punch square to another stallion's jaw. The third bucked him in the gut, leaving cuts and scraped and they whacked him in the face, and ran when they saw that Bits was bloody and battered, afraid of what he'd do next. He ran after the third one and landed a hoof straight to the back of his head, staggering him! They continued running, shouting curses back at the two. Bits walked over to the scared bat pony and reached a hoof down to help her up. She immediately backed away, shivering and whimpering. "Hey, it's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you. Are you alright?" She looked up at him, tears streaming down her face and said "Yes, I'm okay. Thank you, um...are you alright?" She looked him up and down, wondering why he had all the hardware on him. He just laughed and said "Don't worry, I'm okay...AH!" He winced. He had just noticed his broken wings. She slowly made her way over to him and said "Let’s go back to my place and get you patched up!" "Thanks, Ms...?" he said looking at her beautiful, white coat. "Rose Heart. My name is Rose Heart, and yes, I am a bat pony. You're not scared of me?" she asked. He looked at her with a smirk and said "I have a cybernetic limb and a mechanical eye. I thought you would be the one scared of me." As they walked back to Rose Heart's place, she stood closely to Bits, nuzzling his shoulder and continually thanking him for rescuing her. They walked inside and she motioned for him to sit beside her. "Now let’s see what we can do about those wounds," she said with a concerned look. Bits noticed when he entered her house that he didn't just break his wings. He had a gash under his good eye, cuts from being bucked on his stomach, and a nasty scrape on his back legs from diving after the third attacker. "Wow, I must've been more beat up than I thought. Hate to see what the other guys look like," he chuckled. Rose Heart finished getting him patched up and setting his wings so they could heal. "Well Bits, I'm sorry to say this, but you won't be flying for awhile. And it's all my fault!" she said as tears streamed down her cheeks. He looked into her eyes and said, "Hey, shhhhh. It's okay, shhh. I saw someone in need so I helped. So what if I gotta few cuts and bruises? I'm just glad to see you're okay." He smirked and said "Besides, I haven't had that much fun in a long time, so thank you." Rose looked at his foreleg and eye and inquired, "How did you get those?" She had a look that could only be described as puzzled. He stared off into the distance and said, "Accident. I was working at the Cloudsdale Weather Factory and I was monitoring test clouds. Those are clouds we put in glass bottles to see if they have the right properties and mixtures so we can release them and use them. I was looking at a thunder cloud and it boomed so hard that the bottle shattered. Pieces flew everywhere and one happened to fly into my eye. I was rushed to the infirmary and then put in the hospital. About 2 days later, I woke up and noticed that everything was green. The doctor said that they gave me a cybernetic eye. They were testing them because they wanted to get rid of eye patches." Rose Heart looked at Bits and giggled." They wanted to get rid of eye patches?" she asked, stifling a giggle. "Weird I know." Bits said this and moved his cybernetic forearm abound, the gears making little mechanical whirring sounds. "I bet you wanna know how this happened?" he asked, holding up his artificial limb. "Well, this time it was at the Wonderbolts Training Camp. I was flying through the hoops like Captain Spitfire told all the recruits to do, and I came across this one hoop that seemed a little high. Well, I thought to myself, 'Bits, you can make that hoop! Just fly low for a little and bank at the last minute!' And that's what I did. Except I wasn't able to pull up and bank because this rainbow maned pegasus was in front of me and stopped just as I was about to bank. So I flew over the hoop, caught my front hoof trying to steady myself, and broke it in 4 different places. The doctor told me that they would have to amputate and I was on bed rest for a few weeks. So I did what I could and after a few weeks, the doctors said they found a solution so that I wouldn't have to go around with only 3 legs. One mechanical, cybernetic arm later, this happened," Bits said, pointing to his arm. "Wow. You sound like you've got it rough. but I don't understand how you were able to pay for all of this just from working at the weather factory. Didn't it cost a fortune?" Rose asked. Bits just pointed to his cutie mark and said "I guess I'm just lucky. When my folks passed, they left me with a large inheritance, so...there's that." After awhile, they both started getting tired and Rose said, "Well, I should be getting off to bed. Since you can't fly for awhile, why don't you sleep in my room, with me?" She looked almost seductively at Bits and said "I'll even make it worth your while." Bits looked at her and said "Oh no, I couldn't impose. I'll just sleep on the couch." Rose wasn't having it though. She looked at Bits and said "It's okay. I mean you did rescue me after all. Think of it as my way of...making it up to you." Bits thought for a moment, looked at Rose with passion and said "Well, alright. There is something I've been wanting to try, after all. If you're sure it’s okay, that is." Rose Heart's legs quivered, her heart was beating 90 mph. "Oh of course. Let’s get to it, shall we?" She led him back to the bedroom and they laid down on the bed. She giggled and said "I'm on top."
