Ponyville was calm and peaceful during the night as two souls walked through the town towards the local pub. Silver Quill was trying to not stare at his friend Dr.Wolf as they walked side by side but found the task next to impossible what with his secret feeling for Dr.Wolf popping up now and again.

"We're here" Dr.Wolf said as he pointed to the sign that read 'Ponyville Pub'

"Let's head inside" Silver Quill said as he walked towards the door

The two headed inside the pub. Music played throughout courtesy of Octavia's orchestral band. as the two sat down at the bar they saw that Applejack was bartending.

"Oh hey, what can I get you?" she asked with a thick country accent. Dr.Wolf decided to get a non-alcoholic drink so he choose apple cider with no alcohol. Silver Quill ordered a glass of bubbly vodka.

"Remember what I told you Silver Quill, as soon as you get tipsy we are headed home" Dr.Wolf said as he noticed the glass of vodka Silver Quill had downed.

The last time Silver Quill got drunk at the pub it wound up a crazy night and so Dr.Wolf made a new rule that if they go to a pub they aren't allowed to get drunk.

"Don't worry, I'm just going to have some drinks and I don't intend to get drunk" Silver Quill said as he downed another glass of vodka. This was true at least at first, but then when he downed his third vodka he began to notice he seemed less nervous around Dr.Wolf than he was before. He realized he needed to tell Dr.Wolf of his true feelings so he did the logical thing: Trick Dr.Wolf into thinking he had gotten drunk off of one drink of a strong alcohol. Silver Quill ordered a cup of Sake which while potent wouldn't equal instant drunkenness from Silver Quill's knowledge but Dr.Wolf didn't know that. So Silver Quill sipped the Sake and after the glass was done he looked at Dr.Wolf with fake drunken eyes which Dr.Wolf figured out long ago was a telltale sign he was drunk.

"Silver Quill, are you drunk?" Dr.Wolf asked as Silver Quill became entranced in Dr.Wolf. The light from the bar hit Dr.Wolf in a way that made him look even more handsome than before.

"I could be" Silver Quill replied still staring at Dr.Wolf.

The moment became complete silence until a shout filled the pub

"COME ON SILVER QUILL! JUST ADMIT YOU WANT TO BANG DR.WOLF AND BE DONE WITH IT!"

Dr.Wolf and Silver Quill's faces both turned crimson red as they turned to face the offending party: a unicorn stallion with a red horn who went by the name of Sombra. Sombra was given a voice thanks in part to an alternate universe version of himself who went by the nickname of Kingsly.

"Sombra, why did you say that?" Dr.Wolf said as his face grow even more red.

"I'm just speaking the truth, not my fault Silver Quill isn't gusty enough to admit he likes you in that manner" Sombra said as then he received a punch on the shoulder from Rainbow Dash who then went back to where all the rest of her friends were sitting alongside Fancy Pants.

Dr.Wolf turned back to Silver Quill and asked "Is that true? That you like me in that manner?"

Silver Quill was sweating bullets, on the one hand he could confess his attraction to him and get it off his chest but on the other hand Dr.Wolf was already married to a lovely, loyal and overall one of a kind wife which meant if he confessed his attraction to Dr.Wolf he would more than likely get rejected. so he decided to deny it.

"I don't know what he's talking about, I mean I've known the guy but he has an odd way of perceiving the world sometimes, he knows I'm straight so there is no way I would see you as more than just a really cool best friend" Silver Quill said then death glared at Sombra before turning back to the bar and ordered another glass of Sake. After a few rounds Silver Quill's true feelings for Dr.Wolf began to make themselves apparent such as Silver Quill staring at Dr.Wolf with a love-struck expression on his face but turning away blushing before Dr.Wolf would notice. Everyone in the room knew it would only be a matter of time till Silver Quill finally got drunk enough to flirt. Fifteen shots later and Silver Quill was beyond wasted and didn't give a darn about hiding his true feelings anymore.

"You know (hic) Sombra might've had a point, I mean (hic) you are unbelievably attractive" Silver Quill slurred as he reached for Dr.Wolf's paw and held it.

"Silver Quill?" Dr.Wolf said confused by what was happening.

Silver Quill blushed and then said "Your hot. There I said it, I find you really, really, really, really attractive."

Dr.Wolf suddenly found he was unable to speak as his face turned redder by the second

Chants of "kiss, kiss, kiss" filled the air as Octavia started playing a romantic song to fit the mood, everything seemed to be going as how Silver Quill envisioned it. he held both of Dr.Wolf's paws and began to lean into him to kiss him, several yaoi fangirls in the pub were anticipating the kiss and the tension in the romantic music picked up...

Only to be interrupted by both Dr.Wolf and Silver Quill falling off their bar benches. Several ponies raced over to the two, not only to check if they were okay but also for the yaoi fangirls to see if in the fall they really did kiss. They were somewhat disappointed when instead of kissing Silver Quill was laying on Dr.Wolf's chest.

"Are you okay?" Dr.Wolf asked as Silver Quill was disappointed that he didn't get to kiss Dr.Wolf but blushed as he realized he could make this work in his favor. He began to nuzzle his cheek against Dr.Wolf's as many fangirls squealed at the cute moments. Silver Quill then rested his head against Dr.Wolf's chest and drifted off to the sound of his crush's heart beating. Dr.Wolf realized Silver Quill was fast asleep and he couldn't move least he wish to wake his now not so secret admirer.

"So he was the one who sent those love letters on Hearts and Hooves day" he thought as he tried to figure out how to get up without waking Silver Quill up, finally he realized he would need some help.

"Can someone call Firebrand?" he asked.

One embarrassing phone call and unicorn levitation spell later and Firebrand and Dr.Wolf were walking to Silver Quill's house while Silver Quill slept in a cart Firebrand was pulling.

"So your telling me Silver Quill has a crush on you?" Firebrand asked after hearing the events recounted to him by Dr.Wolf. Dr.Wolf just nodded wanting the night to be over already since it was so humiliating.

"Wow, that is quite embarrassing" Firebrand added and again Dr.Wolf just nodded.

The rest of the night went off without an incident. The next morning Silver Quill woke up to find himself in his bed with a letter on the nightstand. He opened up the letter and read it:

Dear Silver Quill
That incident last night when you told be you found me attractive and almost kissed me was both strange and eye-opening. It told me that while you act confident when it comes to reviews emotions are another thing entirely. I don't know how long you've been hiding these feeling for me but it does not matter. What matters is if you can understand that I do not return those feelings since I see you as one of my closest friends. I know rejection might hurt but I know you'll find your special somepony someday.

Tears of both relief and sadness raced down his face. On the one hand he was rejected by the wolf he loves but on the other he didn't lose Dr.Wolf as a friend. He decided that while he would always love Dr.Wolf as more than just a friend he would try to find somepony else to love as well. He saw Dr.Wolf walking with his wife and thought

"Mrs. Wolf, you have no idea how lucky you are to have Dr.Wolf as your husband."

He then headed outside to join the group for lunch.
