Lindisbarne first, then the crystal empire was next. How did they fell? Nopony knew exactly how the two cities fell, not to mention how it could have been so fast. Worst of all was, aside being fast, it was also silently.
They were like locusts, consuming everything as soon as they arrived. Barbarians may have been the most accurate term to refer to them. Yet, barbarians never behaved that way. Barbarians killed, wiped out everything and then, they would take the remnants.
But they? Oh, no… not them. They didn’t take remnants. They take EVERYTHING and transform it for the worst. For those who fall under their influence, everything seems to be fine. After all, they are “freed” from a complicated life for one which is full of pleasures.
At least for most, anyway.
Before, Equestria was a beautiful land, full of joy and happiness, where every day was filled with chances of growing up and be happy, where everypony could be able to get their cutiemarks, learn what it meant and live under that talent, knowing only a handful of ponies could even hope to be their equals on that talent.
But that was before THEY came and stain the land with their mark. Before Equestria fell.
Before SHE fell.
Even when time had passed since those days, she couldn’t believe it. It was so unreal. Everything was so changed, nothing was like the days before. Not even her.
Before, she was one of the only few of her race, known almost everywhere on the world, known as a princess, and not ANY princess at all.
Before, she was princess Celestia, the embodiment of the sun and ruler of the beautiful country of Equestria, respected in the whole world. Even kings and queens would bow before her.
That’s they why when she opened her eyes to find herself inside a cage, her mind took a few moments to remember everything. Of course, it had been months since THEY arrived.
But for Celestia, everything seemed like if had been the day before. As per usual, she sat up on her knees, least she wanted another “punishment”, which she wasn’t even willing to receive.
When the door opened, the only option Celestia had for showing her contempt towards the creature in front of her was simply a glare. After all, he was one of Them.
A caribou.
