Pony in my pocket
Chapter 10
Previous ChapterChapter ten
Sunset came in a mad hurry back to the tent. She didn't pay any attention towards the pony or dog. She just went on grabbing her belongings and stuffed them in her bags. Dash watched curiously and confused as Sunset seemed to be moving at a speed that could beat hers.
Twilight then came in with the basket filled with some vegetables for the pony. Dash wanted to ask what the big hurry was, but the very thought of this delicious food melted her brain. Her stomach ran the show now and her brain took a break, as she practically leaped into the basket.
Twilight chuckled for a moment befor joining Sunset in the rush of packing her own things.
Spike only stared at the girls and the pony, shrugged, and went back to sleeping in his basket.
"Dash wake up! We have to go!" Sunset almost yelled at the Pegasus as she shook her awake.
"Geez.. what's the hurry.."
"Come on! We're leaving!"
"Leaving..?"
"We are going home!"
"What time is it.."
"Urgh. Come on." Sunset just picked Dash up from the bed and put the Pegasus inside her backpack. Sunset then hurried outside to meet up with the other students.
"Alright. I hope you all had a lot of fun!" Gloriossa said. Then the first students got on the bus. It was still very early so most of the students, and a certain pony in Sunset's bag, were sleeping on their ride back home.
"Okey, I think I know what to do." A purple alicorn said for what must have been the twelfth time.
"How many more times are going to say that." Spike said. Twilight glared at him. "What?"
"Oh nothing. Just some dragon trying to break my concentration. Again." Twilight said and her horn started glowing. She focused her magic on the mirror and, after a purple flash, the mirror looked brand new. As if nothing ever happened to it.
"Wow! Hey, this time it actually worked!" Spike cheered.
"Told ya it would work." Twilight smirked.
"You told me that every time you found a spell or got an idea." Spike said flatly.
"Well, his time I meant it."
"Sure."
"Well, I am going to get my friend back. You can stay here if you want." Spike didn't answer and just went upstairs. He was ready for a looong loooong loooooong nap. Twilight shrugged and went through the mirror.
Sunset sat on the stairs in front of the school. She had the magical book in her hands, open at the last note she had sent to Twilight.
"Still no answer.." She said worried. Dash sat next to her and put her head on Sunset's lap.
"Don't worry, Dash. I know that if someone can get the portal to work again, it's definitely Twilight."
Dash didn't answer and only sighed.
Suddenly the mirror glowed and a Twilight without glasses stepped out of it. Sunset gasped.
"Twilight! You did it!"
Twilight made her first awkward steps before yelping as she fell on the ground. Sunset leaped up and helped her friend up. Dash flew over to the two girls.
"Dash! You're alright!" Twilight smiled. Dash, however, didn't. In fact, she looked pretty mad.
"Dash, what's the matter?" Sunset asked.
"What's the matter? What's the matter?! She freaking blasted me through a magical portal and broke it!" Dash yelled.
Twilights smile faded in no time and got replaced by fear and sadness. "I'm so sorry, Rainbow Dash. But please, come back with me."
"At least these versions cared about me and cured me when I was sick instead of throwing me through things!"
"Wait.. what do you mean 'when you were sick'?" Twilight asked, utterly confused.
"Dash had a cold when she got here. What did you think made her drop the book? She had a terrible sneeze attack." Sunset explained. Twilight's eyes shrank to pins.
"Oh my gosh.. Dash.. I... I..." Twilight sighed. "I think I'm really on edge after a night of nonstop reading.. I'm so sorry, Rainbow..."
Sunset gave an expecting look at Dash.
The Pegasus sighed. "Yeah yeah, apology accepted."
Twilight got a huge smile and hugged Dash tightly. "Okey, okey!"
Sunset couldn't help but smile at the sight.
"You better get going before someone sees Dash."
"You're right." Twilight released the Pegasus. She went over and hugged Sunset Shimmer. "Thank you so much for watching her."
Sunset returned the hug. "You know that I would always help a friend." She winked.
Twilight smiled. It was nice to see how a bitter girl can turn around, all thanks to the magic of friendship. Then she turned to the Pegasus. "Come on." She said and they went through the mirror after waving their goodbyes to Sunset.
Fluttershy went up to Sunset. "You're going to miss her, huh?"
"Yeah.."
"Maybe you should come with me. There are a lot of animals that still need a home.."
Sunset smiled. "You know what, Fluttershy? I'd like that. I really do."
The shy girl returned the smile and they left to go to the pound.
Princess Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash returned to the friendship castle through the mirror.
"So.. how exactly did you fix the portal, anyways?" Dash asked.
"Well.. It took me a while, but who would have guessed that the answer was just a simple levitation mixed with a fixation spell?"
"Well.. At least that is over. And I'm guessing you've learned an important friendship lesson, Princess of friendship."
"Yeah, I guess so."
"Good. You go to writing, and I'm gonna finish that Daring Do book." Dash said and left the alicorn.
Twilight grabbed a letter and a quill in her magic.
Dear Princess Celestia,
today I've learned that sometimes the most difficult things can easily be fixed with the simplest spells.
Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle
"Hmm... was there anything else..?" She thought for a moment. Then Dash sneezed.
"Naaah, probably not. I'll let Spike send the letter in the morning."
Twilight went to join Dash.
"So.. what have you been doing over there?"
Dash blushed at the memories.
"Weeeell...."
After Rainbow Dash had told her, Twilight used a mind-erasing spell on herself.
Reading over her letter to Celestia again, she said "Yeah, exactly."
