The Secret Origin of Fauna the Adlet

One day, in the Michigallop region of Equestria, an Earth Pony alchemist on holiday was taking a morning constitutional in the woods. Suddenly, he happened to hear a cry in the thicket. When he followed the source, he found an Adlet pup. He couldn't see her very well, because he left his glasses in his cabin, but he couldn't ignore her cries. So, he took her with him back to his home in the Everfree Forest.

When he returned to his home with the pup, he was encountered by a Zebra.

"Well, good evening, Ms. Zecora" the alchemist said warmly, "Here for some herbs from my garden, per chance?"

Before she could say anything, Zecora noticed the put in the basket on his back.

"Silver Key, what do you beget?" she asked cautiously, "Where did you find his young adlet"

"Adlet?" Silver Key said in surprise. He put his glasses on to see the pup which giggled at the sight of him. "Oh...Well fancy that. Nonetheless, the poor thing's folks were nowhere to beseen. I couldn't leave her alone"

Zecora sighed and looked at them both.

"Kind-hearted alchemist, my only friend, should you decide to keep her, this, I recommend" she started, "Take this adlet and raise her well, lest in the future, she should...Rebel" She then left for her home.

The alchemist named the pup Fauna and began educating her in alchemy among many other things. Yet, she seemed most comfortable among the animals One night, Fauna fell ill after warding off a pack of Timberwolves about to attack a family of foxes. Fearing he would lose his young charge, Silver Key frantically attempted to make azoth to save her. When he gave it to her, she had a strange reaction to it. For it wasn't azoth, but it may have been some kind of unknown elixir he accidentally created. Zecora returned to find strange markings on the pup's body.

Zecora requested them to come to her hut as soon as Fauna regain consciousness.
