From dark to bright (Chapter 2)
I was walking through the trench's when i herd a bang next thing i knew my ears where ringing and my world was black.
I felt like i was in a limbo floating through blackness when i hit the ground hard with a thud as i blinked i thought am i dead? no i was not but i found my self near a forest i still had my uniform on and my weapons and ammo but something was missing... then i realized what it was it was a picture inside a picture frame of my family.
I looked through my bag looked around the place i'd landed wasn't there.
That picture of my son my wife and my other son was my lifeline without it i felt lost in the war alone and sometimes afraid.
But right now i was wundering where the hell i was.
I walked a'bit ok not a'bit but a'lot i found a track and followed it i geussed it would lead to a french farm but no as i followed it i saw some barns not the french type but was i seeing things? they where american style barns i just didn't know how or why there where barns from the USA how and why i had i think "died" in france.
I walked about 7 Miles more when i stopped mouth open a tiny little horse with bright colours and wings crossed the road it didn't see me but still A LITTLE HORSE WITH WINGS yup i was dead.
To make sure i was i pinched myself it hurt in awe i couldn't believe what i had just saw a small blue and pink horse with wings and i wasn't dreaming but after about 10 mins i started walking again THIS time i saw a unicorn fully grown one mind you walk across this time he saw me he just looked confused at me might be due to my uniform but no he was looking at my face. i started to feel uneasy when he said "hello?" i swear i jumped 2 foot. but i said hello back and asked where i was he said "The apple farms near Ponyville" in my head i did not know what he was talking about so i asked him where that was and he pointed with his hoof? hand? i don't know down the lane i thanked him and walked of down it.
About i'd say 18 mins of walking i came to a signpost saying Ponyville one way and Farms the otherway.
As i pondered witch way i should go a nother pony came trotting by me she gave me a very funny look like *what the hell is that?* but i shrugged it of i decided to camp out for the night i liked to do that i did it with my dad when i was a kid.
i remembered when my mom died when i was 9 my dad was lost for a long time like not knowing what to do and he was just more silent i can understand why due to the fact in the war i made friends and saw them die that always hit me where it hurt.
As i set up my tent i heard a crunch i heard ether a pony or a person say what was it celestia Dammit? i don't know anyways i turned around and saw a pony in armor And a nother one wisperd to the other one.
I just looked at them and my hand went to my webley .455 one saw me do this and said "STOP" i stopped then they said "You are under arrest under the orders of princess twilight sparkle for being a possible threat to equestria" i just looked at them blankly then they said "come with us" i just kept the same blank stare and said no one of them went for me trying to put some cuffs onto me.
but then i did the stupidest thing i coloud of done i pulled out my sidearm and shot one of them.
i listened to the gunshot ecoing over and over then i heard the guard growning and i saw he was bleeding the other guard looked at him then at me and then at the barrel of the gun he quickly dragged his wounded comrade of and made a run for it.
then i finished setting up but i was shaky for shooting him i listened to the night sounds as i fell asleep.

Today was hell had too charge up didn't do much apart from killing 246 men.
brave they where didn't back down but still this is war most of that wounded where crying for there dads or moms that shakes me it does when grown men are screaming for there parents.
I didn't get of scot free though got a bit of shrapnel in my leg get it pulled out later don't want it too get infected i hear gangrene is very nasty.

Today i was looking for snipers when i saw a lad get his finger shot clean off boy did he scream i went over too him as you would and cor blimy a sniper bullet missed me by a inch.
Stone the crows that young fit healthy lad got trench foot the colour was a slimy yellow in parts and it smelled of rot god i nearly gaged it smelled like god good god it was i don't know how to explain it rotten meat? gosh i hope i don't get that.

Lads went up top today 3,000 went up 347 came back 87 of them wounded i looked up for a second and what i saw made me sick guts hanging out limbs blown off never again but there that's the horror of war.
Got a promotion to sergeant but i don,t know if i can sent my troops over the top in front of me i just don't know.

This isn't Johns hand writing.
John died this morning via a bullet to the head by a sniper i am writing this so his family can see what happened to him.
I found him brains blown out splatterd all over the place god to clean that up.
I am sorry for your loss Johns family for i didn't know him i wish i did though he seemed like a fantastic man may he rest in peace.
