Pyromania

The black smog blotted out the sky. The smell of smoke hung thick in the air, and the sound of crackling flames broke the midnight silence. The flames licked the night sky as it spread through the dead, dry trees of a desolate orchard, completely barren of life and the grass now turned to ash on the cracking earth.

Screams rang through the night. One was a mare’s, one was a stallion’s, and the last was a filly. However, the filly’s scream seemed to slowly evolve into a maniacal laugh as her flesh was burnt off her bones. When the flames settled, the scorched bodies of the ponies were found lying in the dirt.

But there were only two bodies.

Bloody footprints were seen dragging across the dirt, heading down the path. Glowing embers and drops of blood stained the path, as they headed into the distance.
