Gilda's dream has come true. After Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie helped her restart her business, both Griffonstone and her friendship with Greta grew into something she never expected.

When Gilda is told about an old, dilapidated library, she and Greta search through it and find the journal of famous explorer, prince, and father of King Grover, Gerat Grover. Discovering that the journal contains directions to the bottom of the Abysmal Abyss, they begin an expedition to recover the Idol of Boreas and bring even more glory to their city.
