Starting Off With A Whimper
(Chapter 1: Starting Off With A Whimper)
Comic-con was bustling with life. Many people were dressed as characters from movies, TV shows, comic books, and video games. One such person was Josh Thompson, who was dressed as Keramon from the first Digimon movie along with his friends in their various costumes.
“Come on guys we're going to miss the competition if you all move any slower!” Josh complained to his companions.
“Josh, you’re overexcited. We have three weeks here, and it only opened in an hour.” His friend, Ondina Walkin, said. Her costume was of Serana, the Vampire follower from Skyrim. “We’ve got time, time, time to spare and more time!” She was with her little sister, Babette, the youngest of the group, who was dressed as Babette.
“Yeah. Besides, you’re not the one paying for this.” The eldest of the group, Gregory Zephyr said. His costume was Steven Stone from Pokemon.
“Yeah, and thanks for the donation dude.” Salma Saint, the second youngest member said. She was dressed as Lydia from Skyrim, just like Ondina and Olwen.
“Hey guy’s, there’s a photo booth, want to take a picture to commemorate our last Con together?” Sam Thompson, Josh’s older brother, asked as he made a dramatic pose in his Marvel Sandman costume.
“Haha! Sure!” Salma agreed. Her smile then faded into a sorrowful frown. “I’m gonna miss you guys...” At that everyone got into a group hug, Salma being the center.
It was night in Equestria. The city never slept, lights always on and bright. To many, the city was beautiful, a shining symbol of the advancements to humankind…
While others saw it as nothing more than a playground.
An eleven year old girl wearing a light blue tanktop, a red skirt, red and white hat, matching shoes, and long blue socks. Her hair was brown, and her eyes matching her hair. Anyone who looked into those eyes wouldn’t see an eleven year old girl, though… They’d see death themselves in her empty eyes.
She held a red and white sphere in her hand. Tossing it into the air before catching it as she went, a deranged grin on her face as she cornered an injured teenage woman with grey skin, black hair, and purple eyes in an alleyway.
“Heheheh…” The girl chuckled as she walked forward, the teen cowering in terror.
“G-get away from me!” She screamed. The girl ignored her. Instead, she tossed the sphere forward. The red and white halves separated, and spewed out a dark energy that formed into a new being. This one was obviously not human. It was yellow and hunched over, holding a pendant that rocked from side to side.
“Hypno, use Hypnotize.” The girl said, pulling out a kitchen knife. “I don’t want her to give us away~”
The creature was silent, obeying its master. The teen suddenly ceased moving, standing completely still as the creature did as it’s master commanded. The girl walked towards the woman, and when she was one foot away, she stopped in her tracks. She heard a sound she hadn’t heard since in a year. The sound of a portal opening.
“I suppose we’ll just have to reschedule this, ma’am… I have other business to attend to. Hypno, erase her mind of this encounter, we’re leaving.” The girl ordered and began making her way to the sound. When she finally found the source of the sound she found herself in an alleyway with no dead end, and in it was a strange grey egg covered in spikes. “Well, isn’t this a surprise…”
The girl picked the egg up, her dark eyes examining it thoroughly. “Can’t wait to meet you, friend.”
Meanwhile the next morning…
“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!” The sound of screaming suddenly filled the town, waking everyone as what looked like a bodybuilder wearing a striped green shirt and brown pants fell from the sky… only to crash land in a playground sandbox in the middle of a park. “Ow…”
“... Holy craaaap!” A scratchy voice screamed from the man’s side. She was walking by the sandbox when he fell out of the sky. “A-are you o-okay m-mister?” She asked, shocked.
“...” The strange man didn't respond, having passed out from the emotional shock caused by the fall.
“Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!!! Someone call an ambulance!” She shouted.
Pain surged through Ondina as she woke up. Her glowing eyes radically looking around. She was on top of a building, in broad sunlight. She felt exhausted as she sat up. Looking at her right hand in fear.
“This… Isn’t… My skin tone…” She rasped. She waited a bit, hoping to rest, but after noticing she wasn’t regaining strength, she forced herself to stand. “Where… Are my… Friends…? Where… Is my… Little sister!?” Receiving no answer, Ondina decided to limp towards the hatch that lead inside the building. She forced it open with little difficulty, and entered the dark corridor. Once inside, she felt much better. “What happened to me…?”
Ondina coughed as she continued, regaining her strength quickly. She noticed that her blade was heavier, as well as her clothes. She soon realized she wasn’t human anymore. That she was a monstrous vampire. That she wasn’t herself.
“Noooooooooooooo!!!She screamed in anguish. ‘I’m a monster! My friends will hate me! I… I’ll never eat normal food… I’ll… I’ll…’ Ondina fell to her knees, sobbing. But no tears emerged.
She suddenly heard someone opening the door to her left. A man with an odd skin and hair color walked in.
“Hey, this area is off limits-” He started, but was cut off when Ondina pulled out her vampiric sword and stabbed his hand. The man screamed in pain. But when he looked into Ondina’s eyes, he saw only two things. Fear, and hunger. She then opened her mouth, showing off her fangs. The man screamed as she lunged at him.
“Urgh… what happened?” Sam wondered, putting a hand to his face as he sat up and tried to remember what was going on…
The sound of a door opening caught Sam’s attention. A woman with pale skin and pink hair walked in. “Hello, my name is Nurse Redheart. You took quite a tumble.”
“Uhh… And what kind of tumble would that be?” Sam asked, completely confused and nowhere near thinking of what he should be at the sight of the cute nurse.
“The girl that brought you in said you fell out of the sky.” Redheart giggled.
“... I see… Where is she? I would like to thank her for her help.” Sam said nervously as he snapped back to reality as he remembered having fallen from the sky and started wondering how in the world he wasn't dead.
“She’s in the waiting room.” Redheart stated calmly.
“Thank you.” Sam said as he got up and stretched before realising something. “Um, where’s the waiting room?”
“Take a left out that door, then take the fifth right. There’s a double door at the end of that hallway.” Redheart explained. “Everything checked out. You only had a minor concussion. Be more careful mister…”
Sam nodded and then thanked the nurse before following her directions straight to the waiting room. “Now if I was a little girl who just helped someone who fell from the sky get to a hospital where would I be sitting?” He then thought aloud as he looked for whoever helped him.
Surprisingly there were only a few people in the waiting area. A couple, an elderly green skinned lady, and a little girl with purple hair and orange skin.
“I’m going to guess that’s the girl the nurse was talking about was her.” Sam mused before walking over and sitting down next to the girl with the orange skin and purple hair. “Hey kiddo, how's it going?”
She looked towards Sam, and her eyes widened. “Y-you’re awake!? Already!? They said you’d be out until noo-” She looked at the clock. “Oh… It’s half past noon… Heh…”
“So I hear you're the one who brought me in after falling from the sky? Thanks by the way.” Sam said as he ruffled the kid's hair. “My name’s sam Sam Thompson, what's yours?”
“Scootaloo.”
“Nice to meet you kid.” Sam said as he smiled as Scootaloo. “By the way, where are your parents? I’m sure they're worried about you.”
“I don’t have any. They died when I was little.” Scootaloo said, “What about you? Got anyone looking out for you?”
“Oh, I see... Well I don't know what to say to be honest. I mean, I have my brother and we grew up with our parents around so I probably wouldn't know how you feel…” Sam said as he looked at Scootaloo sadly. “But if I can do anything to help you out, just ask. After all, no one deserves to grow up without someone to look out for them.”
“Thanks, but it’s kinda weird to ask a stranger for anything.” Scootaloo replied.
“Then don't think of me as a stranger, but more like… A friend that owes you one.” Sam said as he smirked at her.
“Okay.” Scootaloo said, smiling. “So… You new around here?”
“Wasn't me falling from the sky clue enough?” Sam joked as he stood up. “Yes, I’m certainly not from around here. And I’m probably going to end up needing you to give me a tour.” He then added with a nervous chuckle as he scratched the back of his head.
“Sure, I’ve got nothing better to do.” Scootaloo shrugged.
“Then shall we?” Sam asked as he dramatically bowed to her while sweeping one of his arms in the direction of the exit sign. Scootaloo giggled at that as she got up.
“Yeah, let’s go!” Scootaloo then ran to the exit, Sam keeping pace behind her.
The mysterious girl cradled the egg in her arms as she entered a seemingly abandoned factory.
“I’m home~” She cooed, her voice echoing through the old building. “I’ve brought us something~!”
“Urgh, what is it this time? Another stray dog?” A static like voice groaned as a teen aged boy with black hair and wearing a black and red outfit stepped out of the shadows. his eyes were completely white except for a symbol shaped like a bullseye with four points coming from it, one up and three down, where his pupils should have been.
“I heard a portal opening! Like the ones that brought us here~” The girl replied. “I don’t think this egg is from our world.”
“I wonder if someone sent it, and if so who? Celestia? Star Swirl?” The boy grumped. “Well, what are you planning to do with it Leaf?”
The girl, Leaf, smiled sinisterly. “I’m planning on turning it into a weapon… Whatever it is.”
“And how do you plan to do that?” The boy deadpanned, having seen her monologue about doing similar stuff before.
“Depends on what it is…” Leaf shrugged with a chuckle. This thouh caused the boy to facepalm.
“So, you're going to roll the dice like that time you found a painted ostrich egg?” The boy asked, sounding unamused.
“Shut up, Xana… I know what I’m doing.” Leaf snapped. “Besides… This time we have a Displaced sibling, and not a mindless bird. There may be more Displaced, so go check.”
“Fine, whatever.” The boy ‘Xana’ muttered before walking out of the ‘abandoned’ factory. Leaf only grinned once he left, and sat the egg on an oddly placed couch.
Leaf giggled, caressing the egg which causing it to twitch for some reason. Leaf poked the egg, narrowing her brown eyes. The egg then wiggled again, this time more violently before falling still again after having successfully jumped out of Leaf’s hands and landed on the ground without a scratch.
Leaf picked the egg back up with one hand. “Are you hatching already~?”
Silence...
“Maybe it needs more than a disturbed girl.” A very strong feminine voice said from behind Leaf. The brunette looked behind her to see a woman in a green and black bodysuit, a mask covering her upper face. Leaf set the egg on a nearby couch and backed away.
“Of course, master.” Leaf said calmly, bowing slightly. The woman then picked the egg up in her hands as gently as she could, yet despite this the egg still didn't respond.
“I think he dislikes you…” The woman laughed vibrantly.
“He?” Leaf asked, confused.
“I can tell his gender… It’s not that hard to see into his lifeforce.” The woman then sat the egg down. “I think he needs to rest. And Leaf, were you hunting last night?”
Leaf crossed her arms. “So what if I did? You may be in charge, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have my fun.”
“You are truly a disturbed child, Leaf Green. I pity the one Loneliness choses to be your suitor.”
“Jeez boss, I’m eleven years old! I don’t care about love…” Leaf twirled her knife. “Point my blade, and I’ll collect another soul…”
The woman sighed. “There’s been some reports of a portal opening north of here. Xana informed me that he’s busy.”
Leaf groaned. “God fucking damn these portals to hell! I was so looking forward to killing, maiming, maybe even try ra-” Leaf froze when she saw the woman's glare. “What, bitch?”
“Leaf… Don’t you dare have sex. And stop swearing. I may let Stein and Xana swear, but they’re not as vulgar as you. Also, you’re grounded.” At this the egg suddenly started shaking again, almost as if it was laughing at Leaf.
Leaf snarled. “He’s laughing at me!”
The woman snickered, “He’s not the only one…”
“You fucking whore! I hope someone shoves their fist up your fucking puss-” The woman slapped Leaf. And at this point the egg stoped shaking as if it was laughing and instead started trembling, sweat dripping down the back of its shell.
“Don’t forget whose family abandoned them at birth.” The woman’s voice turned ice cold. “The only family that adopted you were a couple of whores. Don’t forget, I’m the one who holds your fate in the palm of their hand.”
Leaf sighed. “Fine, I’m… I’m… S-... Sorry…”
“Good, now run along, and no killing. I don’t want you making more of a name for yourself and arousing suspicion. The public are already scared of the Black Petal, they don’t need a face to put that name to.” The woman grumbled. Leaf rolled her eyes, before running off. Once she was gone, the woman turned to the egg. “Don’t worry sweetheart… I won’t hurt you. Leaf is just a pain.”
Silence… Again...
“I’ll be upstairs if you need anything, honey… I know you can hear me.” The woman then began making her way to a staircase.
Once it was certain no one was nearby, the egg suddenly began to crack as a dark light began to pour out of it... until it suddenly exploded… Releasing the small light purple blob with a large orange eye on it from inside.
“Was that hard?” The woman asked from the staircase, leaning against the railing.
The creature immediately broke into a sweat and bolted… straight for the nearest source of sunlight.
“Wait! I don’t want to harm you! I have answers to what’s happened to you!” The woman shouted but to no avail as the creature continued to hover away as fast as it could. But before it got very far, a hand covered with stitches grabbed the creature where it’s eye was.
“Ungrateful little bug, isn’t it?” A calm, male voice said from the man holding the creature. “Maybe showing it it’s insides would help open it’s eye...” The man who owned the voice had stitches all over his body, as well as his clothes, which consisted of a lab coat, and thrown together, somewhat costume clothes that had mismatched fabrics. His hair was grey, while his eyes were yellow. The most noticeable feature, however, was the giant screw in his head. With his free hand, the man twitched the screw by it’s head, which made multiple clicking noises.
Sweat instantly began to pour off of the creature as it tried to struggle out of the strange man’s grip, obviously terrified.
“You will not hurt him, Stein.” The woman said, giving a name to the man's face. “Please, hear us out before you run…” She begged of the creature.
The creature slowly stopped struggling as it realized that it had no escape, still sweating bullets as it listened to what the lady who smelled of death had to say.
“My name is Hela, and this is Franken Stein. We are Displaced, like you.” The woman stated. “Displaced means dimensionally misplaced, basically we were taken from our homes and placed in a parallel universe. Stein?”
Stein let go of the creature and pointed to a crowd of people beyond a fence blocking the factory off from the rest of the city. There were protesters marching down the street about some kind of environmental threat. Their skins and hair were multicolored, and even people outside of the protest were inhuman in color.
The creature stared, then blinked a few times before stareing again... Not long after that the creature began foaming at what would be assumed to be its mouth as it's eye twitched erratically.
“He’s taking it better than Leaf.” Hela said, amused. “She almost fainted, but not before letting loose one of her beast’s on us. Stein, Leaf, Xana and I are in almost the same boat as you. Almost. You see, we’re most likely from the same universe. So, will you give us a chance?”
The creature slowly turned to face Hela, its eye twitching even more erratically now before it started to tilt to the side… and promptly fell to the ground unconscious, the foam that it had been spewing now coated the concrete ground next to it and causing it to corrode.
“Heh, thought he’d pass out from his new form, but multicolored skinned people is what knocks him out.” Stein chuckled.
“Take care of him, Stein… I want him to be comfortable when he wakes up…” Hela ordered
“Yes boss lady. I’ll make sure he’s real comfy…” Stein replied, picking the creature up with a pair of tongs and heading to a room.

“And over there is Sugarcube Corner, it’s one of the most popular places for students at my school to hang out, but their sweets make it worth going through tons of teenagers.” Scootaloo said, pointing at the pink and brown sweet shop.
“Huh, interesting. Maybe if I can get a Job in this place I could take you and your friends there every day then.” Sam chuckled, noticing the hungry look in Scootaloo’s eyes as she mentioned the sweets shop.
“That’d be awesome! But my friends and I go there on mondays anyways. That’s about all I know, but at least you know about this general area.”
“Well, it's better than nothing right?” Sam joked as he ruffled Scootaloo’s hair again with a playful grin on his face. “By the way, what day of the week is it?”
“Sunday.” Scootaloo replied, before her face went pale. “Crap! I forgot that I promised Applebloom I’d help her learn how to ride a skateboard! I suppose I’ll see ya later!” Scootaloo waved as she ran off.
“... Okay? See you later then.” Sam said, both confused and wondering what he was going to do now. With a sigh, Sam then decided to wander around and see if he could find himself someplace to stay and possibly get a job. But then he realized something… “Wait… did she say Applebloom? And her name was Scootaloo right?” He asked himself as his eyes shrank to pinpricks...
Leaf sat on the sidewalk, legs stretched out. A little furry cat-like creature sat in her lap, calmly sleeping on the brunette.
“It’s almost feeding tim-” Leaf started, but was cut off as an earthquake shook her out of her state of calm, and the creature in her laps rest. It opened it’s eyes, which revealed it’s black eyes with white pupils. It’s ears perked up, and it’s face turned to Leaf’s left. “Are you sure Loneliness...? Fine…” Leaf then stood up, Loneliness hopping off of her and running to Leaf’s left, and the girl following suit.
After a bit of walking, they found four flipped cars, smashed roads, and fleeing civilians. And in the middle of it all… was a giant creature made of sand having a mental breakdown.
“That’s… New…” Leaf said, looking at Loneliness. “Think we should call the other?”
Loneliness shouted, “Eevee!”
“Yeah, you’re right.” Leaf pulled out a black flip phone, flipped it open a dialed a group of numbers. She placed it to her ear and waited for a response. Finally someone answered.
“Yes, this is Dr. Stein here, what do you want?” Came the reply. Stein’s voice sounded angry.
“Stein, I think I’ve found a new Displaced. Send Xana over here.” Leaf then tossed the phone to the side, the line still being open. She then began walking towards the sand monster. “Hey big guy, nice digs.”
The creature froze before turning to look at Leaf, and upon seeing her immediately turned back around and walked away as it threw its hands in the air as if it just didn't care.
“Hey! I know what’s happening to you!” Leaf shouted. “You have a body that’s not your own, but is familiar to you! Like a character you like or dressed up as during a convention! Sound familiar!?”
“Nope! Nope, nope, nope, nope! SO MUCH NOPE!” The creature ranted as it continued to walk away at a brisk pace.
“You bastard!” Leaf screamed before throwing a red and white sphere, which launched out black energy that formed into Hypno who landed in front of the sand creature. “If you don’t stop and listen, I’ll kill you.”
“Don’t care! Not real, won't listen!” The creature shouted as it put its ‘hands’ over where its ears would have been.
“Hypno, use levitate!” Leaf shouted, and Hypno’s eyes glowed pink, as did the creature. The sand monster was then thrown into a wall. Before Hypno could continue however, a new figure landed in between the psychic and sand monster.
It was a man with light blue hair and eyes, wearing a black suit with a red tie.
“Uh oh…” Leaf gulped, slowly backing away.
The man looked to Hypno, then to the creature. “Calm down, we’ll sort this all out.”
“You know what? I don't care anymore! Fuck this shit I’m out! No thanks! Don't mind me, imma just grab my stuff and leave. Scuse me please, fuck this shit I’m out!” The sand creature intoned, a top hat and briefcase made of sand forming on the creature’s head and in his hand as he promptly stood up and started to walk away again…
“Wait… Sam?” The man asked, surprise and shock written on his face. “Is that you!? It’s me, Gregory!”
The sand creature instantly froze in its tracks… “Wut?”
“It’s me, Gregory Zephyr! You used to call me Gregles along with your brother, Josh!” The man said. “Although I go by Steven Stone now since… Well… I’m not the same man I was… Heh…”
The sand creature promptly turned around to stare at ‘Gregory’ aka. Steven Stone before quite literally dropping its jaw.
“Yeah, I know, it’s a lot to take in… Salma’s also here! But other than the two of us, none of our other friends arrived here… Even then, it’s been a year since I last saw the whole group…” Steven said, placing his hands in his pockets.
“I… you… What!? HOW!?” Sam sputtered as he returned to human form, his jaw reattaching itself in the process.
“Same as you. I think it was something to do with magic. You see this city here?” Steven gestured around them. “It’s called Equestria City.”
“I know.” Sam deadpanned. “And I’m not to happy about it as you probably guessed.”
“Think of it this way. We’ve gained a great power, each and every one of us. Except Salma. We have something special. How many people can say they turned into Sandman?” Steven stated calmly. “I for one won’t miss my prior life.”
“I’ll deck you in the schnoz.” Sam warned, his eye visibly twitching.
“Well then think of it like this… Our ‘band’ won’t have to split up. If you’re here, I’m here, and Salma’s here, the rest won’t be far off.” Steven explained.
“Yeah? And how are you planning to do that? If you are saying what I think you're saying then things aren't going to be all sunshine and rainbows. After all, if we became who we were dressed as, then that means the same for the others right?” Sam ranted,
“Don’t be mad at me, Sam. I’m not the reason you’re like this.” Steven stated. “You like blaming your friends a lot, don’t you…?”
“No I… Urgh, that's not what I meant.” Sam groaned as he facepalmed. “What I mean is that if we turned out like this think of what it's going to be like for Josh and Ondina!”
“Why are you mad? It’s out of our hands. We can help them together.” Steven held out his hand.
“And how do you plan on helping a vampire and a creature made for destruction?” Sam asked.
“Salma and I have some friends. They taught us how to use our abilities and skills to help others and not be a danger.”
“Let me guess, a mysterious group of goody two shoed heroes.” Sam deadpanned. “No thanks, I’ll handle it myself if I find them. And if you know what's good for you keep these acquaintances away from our friends.” He then looked around before storming off into an alleyway.
“You’re making a mistake! You have no idea what you’re getting into! You need someone's help, Sam! Don’t be an idiot!” Steven shouted. “You stubborn bastard…”
“Wow, I’ve never seen a hero fall so, damn, hard.” Leaf chuckled darkly from behind Steven. “And I thought I had it hard…”
“You… I know you…” Steven said, turning to glare at Leaf. “You’re Leaf, from Fire Red and Leaf Green games.”
“Wow, another Pokemon fan… Didn’t think there was another Pokemon Displaced on this world.” Leaf grinned, pulling out a Pokeball. “You are right though. They need guidance. Thankfully I have that.”
“The only thing you have, is a bad influence.” Steven stated coldly, pulling out one of his own.
“You have no idea.” Leaf smirked. Steven threw his Pokeball, summoning a large blue four legged metal creature with a silver X on it’s face, and red and black eyes.
“Metagross, use Scary Face.” Steven stated. The ‘Metagross’ glared intensely, which caused Leaf to freeze up. “You’re facing the big leagues, missy.”
“*Sigh*, and here I thought you could handle yourself for once Leaf…” a voice said from the shadow of one of the nearby buildings. “I really hate having to help worthless pawns like you, but orders are orders…” The voice then said as Xana stepped out of the shadow, a dark buster sword hefted over his shoulder.
“He used… A fear attack on me… I’m not useless… I was just surprised…” Leaf grunted.
“And you know that I don't care about your excuses.” Xana deadpanned as he stepped in front of Leaf. “Hello there Mr. Stone. sorry to interrupt your battle, but I have orders to protect Leaf here.”
“Orders from who…?” Steven asked, narrowing his eyes.
“Sorry, but it's not my place to give out that information.” Xana said before charging Metagross.
“Metagross, use Zen Headbutt!” Steven ordered loudly, and the Metagross rushed head on towards Xana… only for Xana to use the pokemon as a springboard as he lunged at Steven with his buster sword. Steven’s eyes widened, but he couldn’t move.
Before Steven could be hurt however, a woman landed in between them, a steel broadsword blocking Xana’s attack.
Steven let out a sigh of relief. “Oh thank god you’re here Lydia… I thought I was a gonner.”
“Don’t thank me yet, Steve.” Lydia replied, straining herself to hold Xana’s attack at bay.
“Stupid humans, always getting in my way…” Xana grumbled as he backed off before charging again, swinging his buster sword with both hands this time. Lydia used a steel shield this time to block, making it much easier but despite this was knocked back into Steven and the two of them had to be caught by Metagross to prevent them from slamming into a wall.
“What is this guy!?” Lydia shouted.
“I don’t know, but call the others now!” Steven shouted.
“Leaf.” Xana said harshly while hefting his sword back over his shoulder.
“I’m better.” Leaf replied. “Hypno, use Confusion.” Hypno nodded, before narrowing it’s eyes. Lydia, Steven and Metagross yelped in pain, before the first two fell to their knees while the third hit itself. Leaf then returned Hypno, before walking away. “Thanks for the assist, Xavier, but that doesn’t excuse you for being a jackass.” She added.
“Don't call me that, that hasn't been my name since I lost my emotions.” Xana said, glaring at Leaf as he turned his back on the two heroes and the Metagross. “Oh, and I have a message for you. She says you’re an idiot for revealing us without backup.”
Leaf stared at Xana blankly. “She’s right. So let’s go after the Displaced now that he’s calmed down.”
“Whatever you say shrimp.” Xana said with a bored expression as he followed Leaf for a bit.
“And you say you have no emotion~” Leaf cooed as she made her way towards the direction Sam went.
“You don't need emotion to be a jerk to someone you don't like.” Xana simply replied before he seemed to vanish by walking into a nearby dark alleyway.
“Well, when I was ten I’d have tried to change that…” Leaf chuckled, then joined Xana in vanishing.
Stein groaned as he walked into his bedroom which was a small space with a twin bed, and a desktop computer. “You awake yet spitface?” He asked, placing a cigarette in his mouth. He then noticed that the new Displaced wasn’t on his bed. “Hey man, where are ya? I won’t cut you open.” Stein walked over to his desk and booted up his computer. “I’ll check the security feed- WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING IN MY COMPUTER!?!?”
On the screen of Stein’s computer was none other than the creature that had come out of the strange spiked egg… and it was currently eating something, important.
“Get out!” Stein shouted. “Or I will cut you open!”
The creature immediately stopped chewing and looked towards Stein through the computer screen before blinking, and then swallowed. “Kuramon digivolve to! - Tsumemon!” The creature then said in a high pitched voice before transforming into a creature that looked similar to before but with five finger like legs that each ended in a spike, two antenna like ears sprouting from the top of its head and had a faded navy blue coloration to its ‘skin’.
“Oh, a Digimon… Why am I not surprised. Now get out of there now, you owe me an apology!”
Tsumemon blinked a few times at Stein, before its eye seemed to smirk.
Stein glared, backing away slightly. “No… I’m not your enemy.”
Tsumemon immediately ran across the screen and visibly dove into one of the folders scattered about on the home screen, a folder labeled ‘Associates’.
“Don’t go in there!” Stein shouted, but to no avail. Stein then grabbed the mouse and entered the folder, hovered over Tsumemon, and clicked on him before dragging him out of the folder and closing it again.
Tsumemon seemed to pout as it looked out of the screen at Stein… before jumped out of the screen and latched onto the human’s face in retaliation for having its meal disturbed.
“Gah! Get offa me you little brat!” Stein shouted. Before Stein struggled anymore, Hela walked into the room. She placed a calming hand on Tsumemon.
“I have a better meal for you, sweetie.” She said soothingly.
Almost immediately Tsumemon froze, slowly releasing its grasp on Stein’s face as it began to sweat nervously from Hela’s prezence.
“I won’t hurt you, I promise.” Hela said. She then picked Tsumemon off of Stein, and cradled the digimon in her arms. “Trust me, I only want to help you.”
“Lady smell of death…” Tsumemon said, shivering from Hela’s touch.
“Heh, I’m half dead, child. It’s not my fault.” Hela giggled. “You eat data, I’m half dead. So judging me by that’s very rude.”
*Burp* Was Tsumemon’s only reply as he started to relax.
“Let’s get you something better to eat.” Hela said, grinning as she walked out of Stein’s room. “Stein, I need you to drop our new friend off at Canterlot High School.”
“Why?” Stein asked, unsure of his leader's intentions.
“I want to see how much damage he can do to our associate’s rivals.” Hela simply stated.
Rainbow Dash burst into the library and marched in. Her friends were sitting around the computers in the center of the room. “Oh my gosh guys! That last match was brutal! Griffonstone High got good!” She announced to her friends. “Sorry I’m late, there were just so many overtimes!”
“It's alright, you're just in time actually.” Sunset Shimmer said as she pulled up a website on the computer. “By the way, have any of you seen this?” She then asked everyone present while bringing up the local news page.
“Seen what?” Applejack asked. Her eyes then widened at the image of a sand creature. “Whoa, is that thing somethin’ from Equestria?”
“It's possible but it also might be a person like Gloriosa who has been corrupted by equestrian magic.” Sunset mused.
“So what’re we going to do about it?” Twilight asked.
“Oh oh! Are we going to go on a stakeout!?” Pinkie Pie asked as she bounced up and down in place.
“That would imply we know where to stake out, darling.” Rarity added. “Why don’t we have Dash speed around town to spot this ruffian and have her follow him?” She suggested.
“Are you throwing me under the bus?” Rainbow glared at Rarity.
“I actually, um- Think it's a good idea?” Fluttershy said meekly.
“Yeah, I’m with Fluttershy and Rarity.” Applejack said, to which Twilight nodded in agreement.
“Well then, we seem to have a plan decided by majority vote it seems.” Sunset said with a apologetic shrug to Rainbow.
“Ugh, and I promised Cloud Kicker I’d hang out with her and the team this afternoon…” Rainbow grumbled. “Uh… Hey, what did we do with those magic boosters?”
“You didn't lose it did you?” Sunset asked.
“Eh, must’ve left it at home and forgotten it. I didn’t want to cheat by mistake during my match, now did I?” Rainbow beamed pridefully. The door to the library suddenly opened, and Leaf walked in with a blank look on her face. “Uh… Who’s the new girl? She a transfer?”
“Not that I know of.” Applejack muttered. “She looks… Her eyes look wrong…”
Leaf opened her bag and tossed it in front of her. “All you can eat buffet, Tsumemon.”
Tsumemon poked its eye out of the bag and looked around… before crawling out and looking straight at the only currently on computer, the one that Sunset was using.
“What the buck is that!?” Sunset asked, jumping out of her chair and backing away.
“Better question is, what’s she doing with it!?” Twilight shouted as she and the other girls backed away.
At that Tsumemon jumped from the bag and charged towards the computer, diving into the screen once it was close enough much to everyone present’s astonishment.
“D-did it just…” Sunset stammered, not believing her eyes as she looked at the intact computer screen that Tsumemon had just traveled through.
Leaf chuckled as she pulled out her knife. “Let’s play~”
“She’s got a knife!” Rainbow shouted, her eyes widening.
“Not good, everyone head for the back door!” Sunset said.
“Don’t worry everyone, I’ve got this.” Twilight said, her hands glowing purple.
“What the- How are you-!?” Leaf shouted, but wasn’t able to do anything as the knife was ripped out of her hand. As soon as it was out, Rainbow rushed towards Leaf and gave her a right hook, knocking her out instantly. Everyone stared at Rainbow is shock.
“What? She was threatening my friends!” Rainbow said defensively.
“She has a point.” Said Pinkie who was obviously a bit shaken because of the situation.
“We should call the police…” Fluttershy whimpered, hiding behind Applejack despite the girl being unconscious.
“Wait, what about that creature she brought with her?” Sunset asked as she turned to look in the direction of the computer.
“What about it!? It’s gone!” Rainbow said as she picked Leaf up and tossed the brunette over her shoulder. “I’ll lock this one in the broom closet.”
Unknown to the girls, Hela was hiding in the shadows, a grin on her face. “Hmm… This school is very interesting…”
Ondina was curled up, leaning against the door to the outside. She had just killed nineteen workers who were clearing garbage out of the building. She sobbed, attempting to wipe the blood off of her face.
“I… Killed them…” Ondina whimpered, staring at her blood soaked hands. “Their blood… I drank it… I-!” Ondina attempted to vomit, but nothing came out. “H-help! Someone help!”
“Hello? Is someone there?”
“O-over here!” Ondina shouted. “P-please! Hurry!” Sam ran in and quickly saw her, and she him. “S-Sandman?”
“Holy- What happened here?” Sam said in shock as he looked around at the corpses in the room before he noticed Ondina.
“I couldn’t control myself, I-” Ondina couldn’t stop herself from resuming her sobbing fit.
“Shh, it's ok.” Sam tried to comfort her as he knelt down and pulled the crying girl into a light hug. “One of your friends is here for you now, just let it all out.”
“Wh-what?” Ondina’s eyes widened. “S-Sam? Is that really you?”
“The one and only.” Sam said, trying to make himself seem as much like his normal self despite reflexively grimacing when he got a better look at Ondina’s blood smeared face.
“I… We can’t stay here…” Ondina said shakily. “If someone sees us with all these dead bodies…”
“I know, and don't worry I’ll handle it.” Sam sighed as he then picked up Ondina bridal style before carrying her off. “I don't care what I have to do, I will protect my friends and family no matter what they become…” He then said to himself more than anything and setting himself a goal to focus on in the process.
