Pain, that was all Nightmare Moon felt as she was torn from her former host . She thought it was the end, that she would cease to exist, how ever this turned out to be false. As the rainbow beam of energy shot skyward she was torn with. Yet she still retained a body and her armor and sword, ever faster she seemed to fly as the power of the elements pushed her farther and farther into the unknown. For what seemed an eternity, al Nightmare could see was the swirling rainbow light, and then it stopped, or more so she was stopped, as she was met with a dull thud upon hitting a metal floor, shattering a few bones and dislocating her left shoulder.
She sat the for a few minutes, trying to process what had happened, she'd had that wretched Twilight Sparkle nearly beaten, but no instead the unicorn had managed to summon the elements and cast her from Luna. Now here she lay, in some room somewhere in familiar to the dark Alicorn. Gritting her teeth in pain, a flare of her horn and the healing spell took immediate affect realigning her broken bones and popping her shoulder back into place, she paused only for a moment, breathing heavily. Struggling to her feet, she took in her surroundings. The air was damp and smelled fool the walls looked tarnished like they'd never once been clean.
"Curse thou Celestia, we were nearly victorious, we would hath been giveth thee love we desired" Nightmare muttered under her breath. "So close, we could have finally been appreciated"
Letting a single tear fall from her cheek, she pushed the thought aside, for at this moment, her concerns were else where, and included the following. Where am I? What is this place? And finally who are what lives here. Looking around she saw no apparent door to be seen except for a singular circle indentation within the grease covered wall. It boor no signs of being a door yet the strange glow coming from the bits of glass on it showed other wise. Nightmare took a cautious step towards it, then another and another before standing only four feet from it, when it suddenly opened with a strange whirring sound.
"What sorcery doth this place contain" She said jumping back from being startled, only to see the door close. Repeating what she had done prior a few times, she concluded that there must be something making them open, as she felt no magic what so ever, which so far was the only that had her scared. Peering through the doorway she looked down both side of the dimly lit corridor, seeing as how the way to her left was a dead end, that left her traveling the opposite way. Walking slowly down the expanse of metal and cabling, she noticed a common placement of strange writing, the lettering being entirely rectangular, and sadly no matter how strong of a translation spell was used, the inscriptions were undecipherable. Suddenly she heard not one but multiple sets of footsteps heading her way, thinking fast she ducked into a storage room hiding behind the various crates, and what she assumed were some sort of cupboard. she waited patiently ready to strike if need. The door whirred open, the footfalls of multiple boots grew louder.
"Akre, akre, hu'uus krafe" A raspy voice said, peaking out just enough that she remained hidden, she was met with the sight of some rather bulky and very ugly looking beings, each one wore ungainly and somewhat bulky armor, most had strange metal clubs while some of their weapons had two metal pipes sticking out of the end. To Nightmare they seemed to be ugly hairless monkeys, to others they are the Grineer, the most violent military in the origin system, an army of clones flowing from factories across the systems.
"Spera ku, hum clem!" One of them said, the other spread out searching through various corners moving ever closer, to where Nightmare was hidden. seeing as how she would soon be exposed she looked for away to escape with out being seen, noticing a small vent next to her she transformed into the same starry mist she used when trying to deter Twilight flying quickly through the mazes of ducts and piping coming out away from the search party. Coming out back into the same corridor she had wandering, she moved with more caution now still unsure as to where she was. Delving further into the twisting turns she soon came upon a lone ape wielding only an over sized cleaver. Moving quietly she tried to get closer, however she bumped into a small can of black liquid causing it to fall with a noisy clatter. The stocky foot shoulder managed to hear this moving slowly his cleaver raised and poised to strike, he didn't get far before Nightmare was upon him, quickly driving her sword through him, the poor sop managed an anguished plea for help. Nightmare went to full alert her attempt at trying to move unnoticed had failed, breaking into a sprint she burst through into the next room , only to come face to face with more than fifty of the club wielding creatures each on raised and pointed at her.
"ATTAF" one yelled acting quickly Nightmare conjured a shield barely dodging the hail of bullets, that came flying her way, before teleporting herself amongst them cutting through them with a maelstrom of attacks, too bad for her one of them made it to a glowing metal box on the wall. Setting off an alarm of some sort, a loud sound blaring over head forcing nightmares ears flat against her heard. Coming from seemingly ever where more soldiers streamed in each getting visibly bigger and more heavily armed. seeing that she was in trouble, the dark Alicorn started cutting her way towards one of the doors leaving a trail of blood and dismembered bodies behind her. A cleaver wielding male tried to cut her with a diagonal slash, blocking and countering herself she split the man in two from his head down, leaving equal halves on the floor. Weaving through the mass of decaying flesh and metal, before coming to a wide open room, stopping to take a quick look around trying to find a possible means of escape. Sadly there would be no escape from every doorway came more and more Grineer, bombards, heavy gunners, and so on each one ready to kill Nightmare. That would be the case if this were a normal Grineer galleon. Instead it belonged to the Nightwatch corps and, to them Nightmare presented a whole new avenue of research to them and for the whole of the Grinner empire.
Seeing that she was surrounded, Nightmare did the only thing she could. Attack, she lashed out at the closest thing nearest her vivisecting a few lancers with a few precise cuts, while focusing her magic into a concentrated beam burning anything and anyone who came into contact with it. Yet her awareness of her surroundings cost her greatly. She failed to notice a trio of female like beings on a catwalk above her.
"Ka-CRACK"
"Raurgh" Nightmare screamed as a sharp pain lanced through her inside left leg, She stumbled forward falling to her hands and knees. Seeing an opportunity, a female wielding a larger blade with a glowing edge dashed forward weapon raised for an over head swing, except the attack never came, a stream of blue hell fire erupted from the down Alicorn's horn, engulfing the scorpion, burning her alive.
"NO, we shall not be defeated by lowly beings such as thy selves' She screamed in the royal voice. Adrenaline now coursing through out her veins she jumped to her feet, striking out against the hoard of Grineer before her, her anger at Celestia, for that mare Twilight and these hideous beings fueling her rage and will power to fight.
"Ka-Crack"
Another round hit her in a small gap were her armor didn't cover, a small portion of her back, just below the right wing. the force of the impact throwing her face first onto the floor.
"Ka-Crack"
A third round struck her helmet bouncing of the enchanted Lunarium, again she tried to stand but, as she did she felt a heavy shove force her back to the floor, she managed to role over only to be met with the ugliest of females its shouted something in its gruff language before everything went black.
Saturn, moon of Titan
Children on Hayden clan dojo
In orbit of the Moon titan near the northwestern hemisphere of Saturn floated three connected Orokin towers, housed with in theses vast orbital structures lived the fifteen thousand strong clan known as the Children of Hayden, named after the original Tenno, Hayden Tenno. as one of the largest they held a great responsibility to defending the remaining free colonies the dotted the Origin systems. Within these towers, markets flowed with the wares of merchants and traders who sought out this clan. There were traing halls were new and experienced Tenno honed their skills, including a particular Rhino Tenno, known for his skill and the Blue, Green, red color scheme he employed made him well known and feared amongst the Corpus and the Grineer a like. However for this on Tenno his life was about to change, as his next mission would change the fate of the whole system for better or for worse.
Tower 2 Chamber of the Elder council
walking at a casual pace a lone Tenno made his way to the Towards the Elder council passing the ornate white and gold adorned hallways that made up the typical Orokin architecture, that was common of the long dead empire. Reaching the doors he passed through moving to the center of the circular room, where the clan elders sat on three rows of elevated seats.
"I have come as requested" He said taking a knee before them
"We thank you for coming paladin, this assignment that we require you for is a first amongst the Tenno" Said a female tenno clad in the Ember frame. "What we are about to tell you is for you alone to know"
"I am listening" Kal said shifting around in side his Rhino frame.
"One of our operatives has found a rather if not strange piece of Grineer research," the Ember tenno went on " Apparently not three days ago a Night watch galleon captured a non human being, who all we know about it is that it refers to itself as Nightmare Moon"
"And you want me to rescue it, didn't we already have enough problems with extraterrestrial species of have you forgotten the sentients" Kal retorted "Are we still not trying to rebuild into a prosperous society"
a loud metallic clang was heard as a Fragor was slammed onto the pedestal of a Atlas clad tenno. The said tenno retracted his helmet showing a weathered and scarred face of a man.
"There will be order in this council!" He said before casting a stern gaze at Kal "You are one of our most honored Rhino's, you have brought peace and hope to the remaining free colonies, yet your hatred of the sentient, has made you distrusting of the possibility of meeting new species."
Kal did not change his demeanor yet he maintained his stoutness as he listened to the elder, he knew better then to challenge their judgement yet he wanted to argue about making contact with a new species, did the elders really forget what happen with the sentient's, yet perhaps they were right, maybe it was the hatred of them that caused Kal to believe that all non-human races were bad.
"Now you've been chosen because of your knowledge of Nightwatch corp tactics and because you alone have made the Grineer fear you more then any other Tenno, even those who still foolishly follow that thing that dare calls its self Lotus." The elder said a strong venomous tone permeated through out the room at the mere mention of those the clan now called the great deceiver.
This time a different elder spoke his voice filled with the sound of death for he was a Nekros tenno, one of the harbingers of death
"You will find more information has be sent to your cephalon Ordis, he shall brief you on this task" He said his helmet retracted into his frame showing his pasty white complexion as was common with all Nekros tenno.
"Very well My elders your will shall be done" Kal said as he stood "May Hayden watch over me" At that he left the council chamber heading to the landing bay. Meanwhile, still within the council chamber.
"Chara you did not tell him the alien was a female and had equine traits" The Nekros elder spoke
"No Eldrathane I did not, it is my decision that Di'garo learn this on his own, perhaps when he discovers this he may not judge all non human races as inherently evil" Chara the Ember Tenno said, Eldrathane knowing her reasoning was sound chose not to argue the point.
"I understand may, Di'garo have success with this mission." Eldrathane said.
Else where Kal Di'garo had returned to his liset reading the briefing on his mission and set sail through the void of space towards the galleon in-aware that he would find something beyond a new species. he would find a friend and maybe someone to love.
