Fiction always looked up to her mother and friends, they were just so... amazing! Her mother was just the most amazing pegasus in the entirety of equestria, Rainbow Dash, her friends Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake were so advanced for their age, Cream Puff was already so smart and knew what she was going to do when she grew up, and did she even need to get started on Flurry Heart?
Fiction always wanted to fly, and Pound tried helping her, but her wings were too small, something that her best teenager friend was troubled by in her youth, but she was always getting assured her time would come, but as she had decided a long time ago as a foal, her time was now.

Fiction looked at her wings, the feathers were pale, light grayish cerulean, while the rest of her coat was brilliant gamboge, which was, according to her aunt, an inherited trait from the fabled Private Pansy, she'd questioned why her mom didn't have the same, and was just waved off with a quick "Pony genetics are pretty confusing."
She shook her head, she needed to get back on her mission and actually work towards her goal of flying.

Fiction trotted through the house stealthily, looking around to make sure nopony would see her, for whatever reason, since her mom wasn't home at the time, to be honest she was only really being stealthy and cautious because her friend had shown her a new game all about sneaking.
Once she reached the door, she opened it as carefully as she could, as to not make a creek, and slipped outside, and headed for the edge of the cloud house, it had lots of clouds below it, so if things went wrong, she could just land on them, they were pretty fluffy after all, and she'd learnt that when anypony was somewhere unsafe, they got a unicorn to use a spell on them so they could walk on clouds, and then use the clouds to save them, or at least, that's what they did when they had the time to.

Fiction sighed, gulped, taking a step closer towards the drop, gathered her courage, and took a quick jump, flapping her wings rapidly, earning her more of a hover that slowed her down, than a flight, but it was enough for her to be satisfied, so onto the next problem: stopping, and this hover wasn't going to do it.
She grabbed the nearest cloud, but that only served to slow her decent, but not by much, so she did the next thing she could think of, scream; she screamed her head off, all the while flapping her wings rapidly, she was so scared it would have killed her before the ground, but all her screaming attracted the attention of a very fast pegasus, who saved her in the nick of time, like the amazing flier she was, and flew her back right up to the house.
"Fiction, what happened?! Are you okay? How did you fall? I knew I shouldn't have left you alone but Twilight said it would've been fine to leave you home alone for a few seconds and look at where that got you and-" Fiction interrupted her mother's worried babbling that was as fast as her flying "Ma, it's not your fault, I was just trying to fly, I'm sorry..." she looked to the ground guiltily for a few seconds, before realizing something and looked happier than ever "B-b-but I hovered!" she demonstrated by hovering a little off the floor of the house, and her mother didn't know whether to feel proud or angry.

"You can do it Ficty!" Called out her bestest friend in the whole wide world, Flurry Heart, who was visiting with her mother and father, and was accompanied by Scootaloo, who was crying out "Go Fiction!", and her aunt Pinkie Pie was waving some pompoms and jumping around in a cheerleading uniform, with her other aunt Twilight helping a little, but not wearing the uniform, but her mother was the most vocal about supporting her, screaming "You can do this!!"
Fiction slowly sighed, then readied herself to fly.
She flapped her wings slowly trying to get as much air as she could, like her mom would, and slowly lifted herself off the ground, and once she did, she ended up picking up her wing speed, ending up with a flipped over Fiction, still hovering, and everypony went crazy cheering, running up and hugging her.
"I'm so happy for you Ficty!" Cried Flurry, not even able to hold in all the raw excitement she felt, making Fiction blush.
"I'm so proud of you!" Both Rainbow and Twilight cheered at the same time, both looking at each other after and giggling.
"Knew you had it in ya!" Scootaloo smiled.
"I have to go plan a 'Fiction was finally able to fly' party!!" Burst Pinkie, hopping up and down rapidly.
"OH! We have to tell Pound and Pumpkin and Puff and everyone else!!" Fiction squealed happily.
"Let's go tell them all right now!! And when the party's done, which I promise will be very very soon, we can invite everypony to it and have the biggest bash in the entirety of ponyville!!!" Pinkie was beaming so brightly that if she was the sun, everypony would have to wear shades even at night, and ponies would probably think that the sun had never actually left the sky.
"Alright let's head over to the Cakes' first, then to the school for Creamy!" Flurry said, grinning.
"This is the best day of my life!"

That day was one of the most amazing days in Fiction's fillyhood, but it was eventually surpassed, after all, Fiction had way better days in her future..
