//-------------------------------------------------------// Diary of a Ponyville Mare -by MLPAllGrownUp- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Well, that de-escalated quickly (Elements of Harmony) //-------------------------------------------------------// Well, that de-escalated quickly (Elements of Harmony) Dear Diary. I was tempted to rip out and throw away last nights entry. I mean, it seems like such an overreaction now, but I want to remember how I felt yesterday. I never want to feel that way again, and hope I never do! But whats the chances of another evil uprising in our lifetime? So...everything's back to normal. Suns out, Princess Celestia is fine and it's all due to Twilight! Would you believe it? I mean, I knew Twilight when she was a filly, and originally I thought she hadn't changed - she still was a nerd who had just come to town to prepare for Princess Celestia's visit. She didn’t even take part in the party that Pinkie had prepared for her and went to bed. On the night of the summer sun celebration. I mean, who even does that? Well, apart from being a nerd also seems to be some form of super-hero - no wonder Princess Celestia choose her as her prize pupil. She and a whole bunch of other ponies somehow defeated Nightmare Moon. Our little Twilight, who used to drag around that weird doll wherever she went, defeating one of Equestria's greatest villains in an all out magic battle? Or something. Okay, to be honest, I was too relieved that everything was back to usual, I kinda lost the detail. But you can't blame me, so much has happened in a few hours. There seems to be a new Alicorn Princess now, a little (for alicorns at least) blue thing but I have no idea who she is. I was just so relieved I just got into the swing of Pinkie's party and the delayed Summer Sun Celebration. I think Rarity was involved, so no doubt I'll hear all the details the next time I go shopping at Carousel Boutique, or if I decide to go for tea. She'll know all the gossip anyway. Don't tell her I said that, that's between you and me Diary. So…about my promise yesterday. I didn’t. I was going to, I swear, but I couldn't find Bon Bon anywhere and before I had a chance, the whole situation was resolved. And then it didn't feel like the right time. Besides, what if she doesn't feel the same way? We're roomies, it would be terrible and cause all sort of issues. So, for now, I'll keep quiet. So life looks like it will carry on as usual. Except, Twilight seems to be here to stay, which is kind of weird. I bet she hardly remembers me but after this she’s going to become famous. And having the Princess’s student in town probably means we’ll have a lot more visits by the Princess. Twilight also still has Spike, her pet dragon, which is pretty cool. But he’s still a baby, so its more cute and cuddly than something to worry about. I wonder if he remembers me? Still, Twilight is such a quiet pony I doubt I'll be talking about her much. //-------------------------------------------------------// The running of the foals (The Ticket Master) //-------------------------------------------------------// The running of the foals (The Ticket Master) Well, today the whole of Ponyville made itself look foalish in front of Twilight. It only took us like two days to frighten the poor mare out of town it seems. Probably a Ponyville record, although with Pinkie Pie it's hard to tell. Bon Bon and I were out (more on that in a bit) when we noticed a group of ponies gathered around the outside of Golden Oaks Library, where Twilight is living now. Now, the Library has never been the focal point of anything in Ponyville, so the unusual gathering piqued our interest. Apparently Twilight had a spare ticket for the Grand Galloping Gala! I guess it should be a surprise to us that the 'Prize Pupil' (or illegitimate foal) of our beloved Princess is going to get some tickets for the most fantastic event of the year! Well, I assume its the most fantastic event of the year, I've never actually been. I mean, the tickets are like super rare, and only the biggest celebrities and nobles get to go. Of course I'll never get a ticket to attend, but hopefully one day I'll get to play there. I think if I still lived in Canterlot I may have had my chance already, I could make it into the Orchestra I'm sure. But I could never leave Ponyville...or more importantly I could never leave Bon Bon. I wonder if she'd move to Canterlot with me? Anyway, back to today. Twilight had a spare ticket and everypony was trying to persuade her to take them. Now, given that Twilight and I go way back, I thought I may have had a genuine chance to rekindle our friendship (at the gala) so tried to get Twilight's attention. But so did everypony else. So, when she started running, I ran after her. I feel silly running all over Ponyville as part of a mob, but, you know, herding instinct is still strong and once the chase started we all seemed to be having too much fun. It was only later, when Twilight managed to evade us, that we all came to our senses and realised how terrible we had all been. I mean, Twilight is brand new to town and here we are hunting her down! So, we went to the Library later to apologise but it was all shut up and the doors were locked I worry that we chased Twilight out of town, and our lives, for good. Still, the evening walk with Bon Bon was nice. Oh yeah, I promised to fill you in. We had a wonderful day together, just hanging out. We had lunch at my favourite cafe, and spent the whole afternoon (before the fracas) just chilling in the park. It was so nice for both of us just to have the day off work and just hang out together! Hopefully we can share more times like that, but for that to happen I need a plan. PS - Twilight hasn't fled town, she was still hiding. Poor thing! Bon Bon and I left her some sweets and a apology note in her mailbox so hopefully she'll get them tomorrow. //-------------------------------------------------------// Discretion is key (Griffon the Brush Off) //-------------------------------------------------------// Discretion is key (Griffon the Brush Off) I saw a Griffon today for the first time, and I only have one thing to say: Griffons are jerks! Here we all were, market day and everypony is having a great day when Fluttershy comes walking through the town guiding a family of sucks with these little ducklings towards the river. Can you imagine anything cuter? (I said cuter, Bon Bon is sweet, not cute...there is so a difference. Shut up!) And then Ms Attitude gets all aggressive to Fluttershy for bumping into her, making her run off crying and scaring the ducks all over the place. I thought about challenging her, but then Griffons do have sharp beaks and claws, and didn't fancy getting into a physical fight. Especially in front of Bon Bon, I would look like a thug especially as i know how to look after myself in a fight. I am a unicorn afterall. But thats why I went to Gilda's party...Bon Bon wanted to go and if anything was going to go down, I was going to make sure it goes down East Canterlot style. We look after our own. Instead, it looks like Rainbow Dash got an accidental revenge and Gilda fled the town, so at least things might get back to normal. It's not like another stranger is going to turn up next week and be mean to ponies without anybody standing up to them!* On a completely unrelated, I did come to my own personal realisation over the past few days. I've decided i need to sort myself out a little. I mean, I need to make more bits. A lot more. Bon Bon pays more than half of everything and whilst she seems completely coops with that, for the sake of our friendship, i need to pull my weight more. I mean, i should be able to treat her to nice things every so often, that's what best friends do, right? Problem is, there's not really enough paid work in a town like this for a classical musician. That's why even though Octavia Melody has a house here which she comes to for relaxation and inspiration, she spends most of her time in Canterlot and Manehattan. Does that mean to make the most of my mark I will need to spend more time away from Ponyville? Are the bits worth it? //-------------------------------------------------------// The beginning of the end (Mare in the moon) //-------------------------------------------------------// The beginning of the end (Mare in the moon) Dear Diary I know I haven't used you in years, but with us all doomed, I want something that will survive longer than I will. And no, I'm not being melodramatic like when I was a teenage filly. I fear that ponykind, possibly all life on Equuleus, is doomed to an eternal night. Nightmare Moon has returned. She isn't just a tall tale to tell foals on Nightmare Night, she is all too real and has killed Princess Celesta. Okay, we don't know the Princess is dead. But she seemed to suggest she was and the fact she has stopped the sun from rising and the Princess hasn't been seen since, seems to suggest something serious has happened. And now we will have eternal night, which isn't going to be as fun as it sounds. Sure last night, or really this night just hours ago, was pretty fun thanks to a Pinkie Pie party for an old friend of mine, Twilight Sparkle. But no sun means no warmth, and no growing of food. Society will soon collapse as food and wood for fire runs out, and the end of days will be terrible indeed. So, I want to document my final thoughts and feelings, and perhaps some creature in the distant future will find this and might help give them an idea what life was like before this. Because whilst the future is horrifying, life used to be good. Nopony could ask from more then the life we led in Ponyville. But before I start documenting all that, there's one thing I need to do first. I need to go to find Bon Bon and tell her how I feel. She deserves to know before...well...she deserves to know. //-------------------------------------------------------// More foalishness (Applebuck Season) //-------------------------------------------------------// More foalishness (Applebuck Season) Dear Diary Its only when you start to document things, do you realise things - we sure do like running around in a panic in this town! In mean, the cow stampede could have been a bit dangerous, even if our bovine friends have never actually hurt anypony. A frightened herd could do a lot of damage and if it wasn't for Applejack, possibly things could have been ugly. But bunnies? Seriously? Bunnies are just as cute as everypony supposes. All they've got are hoppy legs and twitchy little noses. Bunnies, Bunnies? It was just bunnies for Celestia sake! I would have been embarrassed for Bon Bon to see me like that, except for the fact she was just as bad as everypony else. Anyway, back to Applejack. So, over the past week I've had some mixed feelings about her. I mean, she did save the town and is a very helpful pony. But of course I'm also more than a bit upset ... those muffins made me ill for a day, as did they poor sweet Bon Bon. It was terrible to see her so poorly but being too ill myself to help out. Still, it means we're planning to cook more treats ourselves going forwards, so I get to spend time with her in the kitchen...yay! Nothing seems to make Bon Bon's eye shine like when shes busy baking. And poor Twilight, this town is being more than unfair on her. I'm not sure how come she was giving the awarding speech to Applejack rather than Mayor Mare, but all her so called friends completely ruined her flow. Given that Twilight never used to care about anypony, that must have hurt. We haven't had much of a chance to catch up yet, she seems very busy with her friendship and magical studies. I don't want to overload her but really must catch up soon. Perhaps we should invite her over for dinner someday...
