//-------------------------------------------------------// The Demons -by CrazySheDemon55- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// How My Life Goes //-------------------------------------------------------// How My Life Goes This is the story about how fucked up my life is. Everypony just seems to be normal...I, for one, am not. I'm a demon. An unholy, heartless creature. Though, I would prefer not to be called one all the time, it does annoy me. For the fact that you don't know me very well, I'm 23 years old, I work as a lawyer and my life is very depressing...I'm a pegasus that can't even fly at all. I have a black mane with green tips (same with my tail, green eyes...that glow when in demon form...and a white coat of fur and the 'justice is blind' symbol ponyfied. It was an early Thursday morning, the sun was shining through my bedroom window. It was 9am. Yeah, I needed to get ready for work, quickly. I did all the usual things that you would do in the morning before leaving for work. When I left my apartment, I locked the door, put the key in my pocket and galloped off quickly to work. Since I'm a lawyer, I work in an office in a highly secured building, working on various cases and defending my clients. It's the same thing everyday. No day off at all. It does suck, but I still do it. When I arrived at work, I checked in and made my way to my office and when I went in, I saw about five files on my desk. Something's going on... I walked over to my desk, sat down on my chair and took a look at them, one by one. One of them was somepony that I knew when I was a little colt. "Solar Wing...what the hell happened to you?" I asked myself, reading his file to find out. "Satanic markings, wing feathers pulled out, eyes bleeding...how horrific...", I thought, the look of shock on my face. I pretty much liked this stallion, too bad that he's dead. The next four files had information about ponies that I didn't even know at all. After going through them all, I had a sudden realisation that I was the one who killed them... "GRIM DARK!!" a voice cried, storming into my office. It was a 53 year old mare who was head of The Lawyers Committee. I nearly jumped out of my seat...being away in my own world and all! "Uh, what is it, madam?" I asked nervously. "Oh. Oh yes. Grim. There's five ponies, YOUR clients, that have been suspected of murdering the ponies that I hoped you read through, they need you. Their court hearings are on different dates. The first one is today at midday. BE THERE!! Bye now...I have other things to do!" she explained thoroughly to me, then left. Oh wonderful. Another court hearing, what's new? //-------------------------------------------------------// Serious Business //-------------------------------------------------------// Serious Business It was nearly midday. I was making my way to the local Manehatten Court, where my client was waiting for me. When I was nearly there, I heard a strange voice from behind me..."Hi there! Could you please stop galloping and turn around for a moment so I can see your face?" he asked, sounding rather funny. So I stopped, sighed heavily and turned around and I saw a white stallion with green eyes, a white mane with light blue tips (same with his long tail), wearing a black, leather jacket. He was smiling. "What do you want?" I asked impatiently. "You, wait I mean...I want to know you. You look rather...cute..." he replied, clearly blushing. "Look, I'm sorry. I just don't have the time right now. It's two minutes before midday and I seriously need to be in court by midday! So, if you don't mind...", I explained quickly. I turned around and galloped off again. "HEY!! AT LEAST TELL ME YOUR NAME!!" he shouted after me. "IT'S GRIM!!" I shouted back. After that, I didn't hear anything else from him. Good. I don't want any disruptions right now. I arrived in court. It was just after midday in the courtroom. I was sitting next to Star Clay, my client, who was looking rather nervous. After the usual things that traditionally happen during the beginning of a court hearing, we got started. A witness who lived with Star, started to tell the rival lawyer everything that she saw Star doing that night, claiming to notice him acting weirder than usual. I was thinking up of a way to defend him, he was staring at me with hope, nearly crying. I had to be extremely serious with this, like I was with him the whole time! When the witness claimed something that was totally unbelievable about Star Clay, I had to defend him! So I got up and shouted,"OBJECTION!!" Everypony stared at me. At this moment, every single pony in here had their focus on me, so I began to explain why the witness's claim was bullshit. After I explained why, the judge asked me if I had anything to support this statement of mine. I tugged my brown trench coat with my magic and replied, "Uh...I don't have any, your honour...". I was a crappy lawyer. Even the rival lawyer, Shadow Cane, was trying not to laugh at me. Sadly, after a long while of trying to convince everypony that my client was actually innocent, they didn't believe me and the jury gave their verdict. He was guilty. I closed my eyes tight, trying not to cry over this. Star Clay lost all of his hope in me and began to shout out that it was all my fault that he's going to jail for something he didn't do for six years. He was right. It was my fault... Outside the courtroom, the paparazzi were surrounding Shadow Cane, asking how he knew that Star Clay was the actual killer of his roommate, Solar Wing. I felt devestated. I was the actual killer. I was the one who killed Solar Wing, not Star Clay! I...I was just too afraid to even admit it. When the paparazzi cleared and I was near the exit, Shadow Cane called out for me. I turned my head around and he shouted,"YOU SHOULDN'T EVEN BE A LAWYER, YOU LAME MUT!!" I stormed out. I had enough of that bastard for the past three years already, telling everypony, even me, what a bad lawyer I am. I got my cutie mark for this, I should be good at my job... This business is serious. One mess up and the entire Lawyer's Committee is on your flank, telling you how close you're getting to losing your job. I can't afford to lose it, since I'm not that great at anything else! When I arrived back in my office and sat at my desk, Rare Clarity, the 53 year old mare of the Lawyer's Committee came in three minutes later with Shadow Cane. Oh fuck... "Grim, you lost a case for the fourth time this year!" she told me. "I was there. I know!" I exclaimed, getting angry. "Let me continue...", she said through clenched teeth. I sighed. She continued. "Well, Shadow Cane here told me everything that happened in court today and I'm not pleased with you a single bit! You're getting so damn close to losing your job! If you lose one more case tomorrow, you're fired! Is that clear?" Rare explained, sounding serious. Shadow Cane was smiling when Rare left the room, then he stared at me, right into my eyes and said," You're done for Grim, you always were...", then he left my office, slaming the door. "What a dick...", I whispered to myself, angrily. //-------------------------------------------------------// Murder Night //-------------------------------------------------------// Murder Night I was making my way back home at 6pm. It was quiet. Which was strange since Manehatten is a really busy town... Something didn't seem right... My main focus is getting home. Besides, the quiet does seem pretty nice. I needed it. I live in an apartment. You possibly know that already, but I live in an apartment block. Which means that I have noisey neighbours, including foals screaming and crying and ponies arguing with each other. It's blissful. Just kidding, it's a fucking nightmare! It was the best place that I could afford. Sadly. Anyway, I made it back home. Despite how quiet it was, nothing odd happened along the way. I unlocked my apartment door and went inside and closed it behind me and secured it. I put the keys on the small, wooden table next to the door, I took off my trench coat and left it on a hook on the door and went into my bedroom to get changed into something more comfortable than a sweater and a white blouse with light blue lines. I got changed into a black, warm hoodie. Why not? It's comfortable after all. Well, in case you didn't know about it at all, I smoke...in my apartment. I do feel more relaxed afterwards, anyway. I drink alcohol too. A lot of it. Why? Well, I'm depressed most of the time and I go around killing innocent ponies in their sleep, horrifically. I'm known as 'The Demon of Death' to any demon pony out there that knows me. Most of them actually like me for what I do every night, they're that eerie. Just as I was smoking, I heard a very familiar voice echoing,"You know that's bad for your health..." I looked around and saw 'Nightmare' sitting beside me, smiling. "Hey old friend! I get it that you have a 'depressing life' and everything, but that doesn't mean you should be smoking!" "Just because you have a 'lonely life' and everything, doesn't mean you should be stalking me!" I told him in a serious tone of voice. "Why did you....y'know what? Nevermind. I came here to check up on you. I stalk you for a reason. You're like a son to me, Grim! I knew you ever since you were a foal!" He said, smiling. "Tell me something I don't know", I thought to myself, rolling my eyes. "You do know that stalking ponies is wrong, right? I get it that your parents died hundreds of years ago, especially your fiancé, but it doesn't mean that you have to stalk somepony to get their attention!" I explained to him. 'Nightmare' sighed. "I know what you mean, Grim... I'm a scary, black and purple maned freak who should probably die alone. The thing is, I don't want that. I want to have company! I looked after you whenever your parents left you home alone because they couldn't afford a foalsitter and they had to risk it!" He explained, almost tearing up. I put out my cigarette and looked deeply into his eyes and saw a lonely, sad little colt. I sighed. "You do mean well and I'm glad that you exist. I'm all grown up right now, Nightmare, I don't need your constant supervision!" I told him, almost crying. "Yeah, I know. You need to go out there again tonight and do your nightly killings...there's a certain demon that will go after you if you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing..." he told me. "Still gonna keep an eye on you though!" He nudged me, giggling. Then he just simply disappeared. I sighed heavily. I haven't been getting much sleep for a reason. I have to do 'nightly killings'. I gotta admit though, this may sound wrong, but I do actually enjoy killing ponies as they're sleeping! I'm an absolute sick psycho. I know. That night, I changed into my demon form. Then, as greenish-black smoke, I travelled out of my apartment, looking for my first kill for tonight. I thought about killing Shadow Cane. I firstly have to find out where that bastard of a lawyer lives! Good luck hit me like a rock. I saw Shadow Cane making his way home at 9 o' clock at night. So I followed him. I know this is what 'Nightmare' does, but my version of stalking somepony that you really want dead, is creepier. When he arrived home, I followed him in and blended into the darkness of his home, so he couldn't see me. When he was all ready for bed to go to sleep two hours later, I went into his dreams two minutes after he closed his eyes... He has really self-centred dreams. Ugh. Paparazzi snaping photos of him after successfully putting a 'criminal' behind bars. I interrupted his dream and transformed it into darkness. "What the hell is goin' on here?" he called out, looking so confused. I transformed into a giant, black, green-eyed cobra and quickly slithered towards him. He looked scared, now that he saw me... "Who the fuck are you?" he shouted curiously and nervously. Shadow Cane was shaking with fear. "Who the fuck am I? I am your worst nightmare!" I told him in the creepiest voice I could possibly make and charged at him quickly. He died of a giant cobra's venom in his sleep. Totally not a good way to die. I got out of his mind, mouth splattered with blood and whispered,"Sweet dreams..." then laughed crazily and disappeared. That felt good. Killing somepony that I hated for so long. Finally had the best opportunity to kill that insulting jerk! I went around town, killing whoever else that I wanted...until dawn. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Unexpected //-------------------------------------------------------// The Unexpected Well... I slept in again... Good thing I woke up in bed this time, because last time, I woke up in the middle of a gloomy forest, half covered in blood. Yeah. I'm late for work again. I always seem to be. The thing is, they never seem to notice. By the time I arrived in work, the ponies that work here, especially Shadow Cane's younger sister, Misty Shrine, were mourning over the death of, well, Shadow Cane. I wonder how they found out so quickly... "Do you have the flowers?" Misty asked, as I trotted closer. "Yeah. Don't worry, I'll lay them on his grave for you, dear," Rare Clarity said softly, tears rolling down her cheeks. Ugh. Seriously? I wonder what it will be like when I die... nopony would probably even shed a tear for me. They all hate me here. For some odd reason, they adored the cocky bastard named Shadow Cane! How? Even his sister hated him. Why is she suddenly so upset that her annoying big brother is dead? "Grim! What are you doing?" Rare Clarity asked, looking angry,"You're late! Report to my office now and wait for me!" Uh, what? This is new. I don't even know where her office even is, I've never been to it... "Madam, I've never been to your office before, I don't know where it is...?"I said, probably sounding stupid. She sighed heavily. "Down the hall, Grim! First door on your left! Now go away!" I'm not surprised that she's angry. She always is when I'm around during a moment like this... After waiting impatiently for Rare to come to her office to scold me like a schoolcolt, she finally arrived, wiping away her tears with her hoof, sniffing."Oh God. Here comes the lecture! Brace yourself, Grim!" I thought. She actually didn't shout at me. She smiled at me, making a face that seemed like she was about to flirt with me! "Madam..." "What?" "Are...are you alright?" She just kept staring at me, with that 'creepy' face. Not answering... Something weird is definitely happening right now... She locked the door with her magic, probably so I wouldn't get out. "Seriously, what are you doing, madam?" I asked her, shaking with nerves. Oh God. She's licking her lips. Sweet Celestia. "Ok. I think that we're done here!" I exclaimed, feeling uncomfortable. "You're not going anywhere...Grim...", she whispered, creepily. "UNLOCK THE DAMN DOORS, RIGHT NOW!!!" I shouted, sounding afraid. "How about...no..." "HOW ABOUT YES!!" "Shhhh....you don't want them to hear you, do you? Stop shouting, Grim..." I got up from my seat and trotted towards the door quickly and she shouted, "Stop!" I stopped and sat down on the red carpet floor. What does she want from me? My virginity? I felt sweat rolling down my head now as I heard her getting up from her seat and trotting towards me and then whispering into my ear,"You're not going anywhere, it's just you and me..." I was getting really fucking creeped out by this crazy shit. Yeah, it does seem pretty damn gross too, don't it? I felt her biting my ear. Ugh. Sweet Celestia. Why me? What did I do to deserve this treatment from my own boss? Oh my fucking Celestia, I felt like cringing. I wanted to cry too. I'm all grown up. I'm a respectable, serious stallion, I shouldn't be crying. Instead, I should be taking the stand here! "Ok that's enough!" I shouted, pushing away from her, "This is too fucking weird. I've gotta admit that! I was expecting something serious!" "But...this 'is' serious...I like you...I wanted to find an excuse to have you in my office..." "You like me? Seriously? I thought you hated me!?" I was surprised. This mare was divorced three years after she got married. Rare was all alone for a long time. Never had a foal at all. Now all of a sudden, she 'wants' me. Still ew. "Look, I'm 23, you're 53. There's a 30 year difference between the both of us...we're just not right for each other since we have our differences, anyway. You're my boss, I'm your employee. Simple. We're...different,"I explained, a sad tone growing in my voice. Rare sighed. "I know what you mean and I get it. I knew you would have found it weird, but I tried it anyway...It's just that you always seem to work hard and look cute while doing so. It's fine. I'll just be a sad, lonely mare for the rest of my life...",she explained, nearly crying...then she did. Why do I feel bad for her all of a sudden? She is rather nice and very cheerful most of the time and she has those puppy dog eyes whenever she cries. Oh sweet Celestia, it's happening...I feel sorry for Rare Clarity, my boss... "It 'is' fine. Y'know why? It's because somepony out there loves you. It's not me, obviously, it's just somepony more joyful and interesting than I am and ever will be. Don't give up hope now, you'll find somepony,"I told her, attempting a smile. Good love advice from me who hasn't even fallen in love yet. Wow. What's happening to me, seriously? "You're a sweetie, Grim. You're not actually like anypony else I've met...Why did you think that I've fallen for you in the first place?" Rare winked at me and smiled. I giggled nervously. Getting winked at by a 53 year old flirtatious mare...It actually does make me feel uncomfortable... She unlocked the door. "You can go now, if you want, Grim...", she said softly. I trotted out the door, looking behind me, then turning around. I saw her crying into her desk. Poor mare. I closed the door and trotted to my office. Everypony was staring at me like they knew what happened in there. "What? It was just some heavy scolding going on in there, that's all..,"I told them, smiling nervously as I opened my office door. They all just shook their heads and blinked, Misty was still looking at me with those tearful, brown eyes of hers. She trotted up to me before I went into my office. "Grim...can you please help me?" //-------------------------------------------------------// Being Suspicious //-------------------------------------------------------// Being Suspicious "You, want 'me', to help you...I don't know,"I replied to Misty, rather surprised that she would ask me for help instead of somepony else in here. I trotted into my office. She followed. "Well of course you! Who else, Grim? I trust you!" she cried, closing my door with her magic. She trusts me. I have ten clients that trust me and I let one of them down. It's like she doesn't know that I'm such a failure in life at being 'trustworthy'. I sighed as I sat down at my desk. She trotted over and just took a seat, crying. "Ok. Look. What do you want me to help you with?" I asked softly, pretending to be all nice. She smiled a little. "Can you help me find the bastard...or bitch...who killed my brother?" she asked, through tears of anger. Oh shit... "Look. I can't actually help you with that! Ok? Ask somepony else...,"I told her, trailing away, reading a random file that was on my desk. "GRIM DARK!! FOR THE LOVE OF CELESTIA!! I DON'T TRUST ANYPONY ELSE IN HERE BUT YOU!! IF YOU DON'T HELP ME WITH THIS, I SWEAR I WILL FUCKING DROWN YOU!! I'M PRETTY SURE THAT EVERYPONY ELSE IN HERE WOULD BE ALRIGHT WITH THAT!!" she shouted angrily through tears, slamming her hooves off of the table. Holy shit! That was total rage mode. She's that serious... I couldn't really say anything else for a while. I was seriously taken aback from what she shouted at me...it hurts. I'm not well liked enough as it is in here...or by anypony, for that matter. They would probably give her a prize for killing me, instead of arresting her. "Hello? Is anypony home?" "Uh...I-I..." I was nearly crying. I was trying to hold back my tears. She took notice of how I looked. Calmed down and sighed. "I'm sorry, Grim...I didn't mean to hurt you like that...I was just that upset..." "It's fine. I deserved that,"I said, clearing my throat. "No. No you don't. You are good at what you do for a living, nopony in here, but me, thinks that you're trying hard enough...I was like you for the first three years of this job as well...",she explained, smiling empathetically. "Uh...well, thank...you...that's very sweet of you, Misty...", I said, feeling warm inside. I still couldn't smile though. She smiled. Eyes closed. "You're welcome!" Then her cute smile faded away and was replaced with a frown. I closed my eyes and put my face on my desk, calves 'n' hooves folded, covering my head and brushing off my black messy mane. "Um...are you okay there, Grim?" "I'm fine...", I mumbled. "Ok. Look Grim, I really do need you to help me. I can't work on this case alone...", Misty said, softly. I stayed put. Said nothing. She sighed heavily. "Please, Grim...friends always help each other out..." Friends? Oh no. We can't be friends! There's a rule that 'Nightmare' told me that demons can't be friends with 'mortals'. As much as I really want to be friends with her, I can't. Danger Star, 'The Dark Magic Demon', will eventually find out in the sneakiest way possible and kill me and Misty! I don't want that to happen! He's such a cruel bastard for coming up with this rule anyway! "I seriously can't help you...I'm sorry...", I mumbled. I can't believe that she can actually hear me. "Ok. I get it. You're probably the one who did it anyway, ya know, you were the one who probably killed my brother! You two hated each other, got at each other's throats half the time whenever you saw each other!" she stated, growing angry and suspicious. Shit. "Look, Misty...", I began, sitting back up,"how could I have killed your brother? I didn't even know where he lived. I didn't even follow him home that night and killed him in his sleep, even if I did, with what? There was no blood - stained weapon at the scene, was there? I guess not. Besides, no matter how much I hated that bastard of a brother of yours, I didn't murder him last night. I was at home, going over a case that I have to deal with later on today with a client of mine before going to bed," I explained thoroughly, sounding rather clever. Her face was a picture. She probably didn't even expect that to come out of me. She knows that I'm good at my job, probably didn't know I was 'that' good. I feel so confident all of a sudden right now. Weirdly enough... I raised an eyebrow. "So, what do ya think?" "I...um...think that explains everything...Grim...like, holy fuck! Where did all that even come from?"Misty asked, the look of shock on her face. I felt like smiling and answering with a smartass answer, but I didn't even do either and just replied with,"Well, it's just my memory, y'know. I'm not that bad at remembering everything that happens in my life." She giggled. She went quickly back to being serious again though. "Help me with this case Grim, please!" she demanded. Ugh. This again. "I'm exhausted. I have a case coming up in an hour...just let me think about it, please?" I asked her, feeling tired. I was up all night after all, anyway... "Alright, I will. I'm still suspicious of you though, Grim. For all that I know you could have followed Shadow Cane home and killed him in his sleep...", Misty said, looking serious, as she got up from her seat and left the room, slamming the door behind her. Well, she's right about that part. I'm such a lying bastard. I should be thrown in jail for being such a bad stallion. I should be punished... Any dirty thoughts?
